Convenient Location & Well-Organized Facility…read more I found out about this college when I took my State Exam here. Out of all the options, this was the closest one to me. The building is single-level and well laid out. They have an office, classroom, two labs, a lounge, a kitchenette, and two restrooms. Everything was neat, clean, and organized. On exam day, there were two proctors who split us into two groups, which helped things move quickly and efficiently. Plenty of parking available, and the location is easy to find -- no stress getting there.

I reached out to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and my wife contacted Kern Hospital for information, and both institutions recommended Cellan Central Valley College. As it turns out, this college offers a suitable and accessible program for my daughter, as she is currently studying the prerequisites for nursing. She successfully completed her Certified Nursing degree within a period of two months. It is a well-known fact that being a hospital CNA is an extremely challenging and physically demanding job. However, with their thorough understanding of the hospital environment, these individuals are equipped with the necessary knowledge to handle the job in a compassionate, skilled, and professional manner. It is important to note that the top 10 candidates are guaranteed employment in the local hospital. Nevertheless, this institution ( Cellan Valley College) plays a vital role in assisting young individuals in starting their lives, and they should be commended for their efforts. Cellan Valley College deserves recognition for its contributions to the community, and we hope to see more noble establishments like this in the future. The people involved in this initiative are truly deserving of praise. Special thanks to Ms. Vena RN, for shaping skills, knowledge, attitude, and above all the wholistic support. More power to this institution.

Once you're enrolled if you have FA questions just schedule an appointment, you won't get answers via email. I completed a full year of the pre reqs, it was difficult but manageable! I loved all of the professors! I did learn a lot from them. My cohort was fun, no drama and everyone worked together and got along (I guess many didn't hear that) lol Come to taking the TEAS. Unfortunately this is where the road ended for me at Martha Fuerst. I failed twice (not blaming the school or anyone else) originally, I was told I had to wait 3 months to retake it again (but that meant I wouldn't be with my same cohort) but that's okay. I have friends at the San Diego campus and they WERE able to retake theirs in 3 months as anticipated but not me. I later was told I had to wait a FULL year from my last test date which was 12/2023. Umm? Well that sucks! I knew I couldn't just sit around and not do any schooling so I searched for a different school. (I won't say which) but I retook my teas 02/2024 at a different school and passed. And so.... I emailed Martha fuerst and said will I be able to use these results? I was told no. If I wanted to re apply then I can in December and would have to retake the teas because they do not accept outside TEAS scores. Thats weird? Because I know students from my cohort definitely used their outside TEAS scores and submitted it. Also, you need a 2.7 to continue. Before it was a 2.5. So I know a few other students didn't cont. on also. They were to attend a community college and retake those classes they got low scores on and submit them to cont. at MF. (I didn't have GPA problems) but the Teas kicked my butt. It's unfortunate because I really liked this school but I suppose the universe is directing me a different route. Only cons: unknown policy changes Pros: be on your A game and you'll be just fine.

If I could leave less stars I would. This school has been one of the worst things to ever happen to…read moreme. Not only did I pay 80,000 to get a mediocre education (at best), but now after I graduated I received a job offer and the school for whatever reason will not send our transcripts to the BRN so my class can take their NCLEX. I have alittle over a month to take my NCLEX or I lose my job offer. This isn't the first thing the school has done either. Starting in our second semester, they didn't give us our schedule until 2 days before classes started. Our first class was on zoom and they expected us to enroll ourselves in all our classes on moodle, not ever informing us of teaching us how to do it prior. Finally getting into the nursing program itself 3rd semester, we had a professor named Dr, Orton. She was our fundamentals professor and did not teach us not even 1 thing that whole semester. She was racist, unavailable, and rude. When someone had a problem in her class with something she would shut down and take it out on the whole class. 4th semester got better as Kirsten came in and tried to help fill in our grey areas. 5th semester during OB we had a pregnant professor, dr. Ria who only ever complained about being pregnant. At clinicals she was found laying down in a clean patients room taking a nap on the bed. To say embarrassing would be the least. She taught us very little and would be extremely upset if anyone asked her any kind of questions. 6th semester went well as we had Dr. Cavillo or Farhat. Probably top 5 professors there. Not to mention during this time we had 3-4 different deans, whom all changed the rules as they went along. When I graduated Sam Lynn was being exited as the dean. I believe she lied to us about a lot of things. She could never give us a straight answer on anything. She was really good at making word salads and never actually answering a single question you had. She told us to be prepared to take our NCLEX 2 weeks from May 11th, and we have not heard a single thing from her since. No one will directly answer the questions you have, no one cares how you feel or what you think. They want their money and after they get it, you're screwed. While admin and most professors are complete trash I do just want to mention the ones that are trying so hard to make a difference: Kirsten, Dakota, Ken, Alex, Angelica, the peds team (ABCD), and Farhat. These professors are the only ones that will care about you and try to make a difference in this mess of a school. DO NOT ATTEND HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT

Both have been supportive, knowledgeable, and clearly care about student growth. I truly appreciate the instruction and guidance I received from them throughout the program. They have both helped me in furthering my education and focusing on my career. With that being said, I did experience some challenges with communication along the way with the overall school itself. There were times when I reached out with issue or concern and it would either take weeks or I didn't receive a response at all, when certain things were discussed or promised and I felt they weren't fully followed through. This made parts of the process more stressful than they needed to be, especially in a program that already requires a lot of dedication and effort. This is not an easy program, and it's important to understand that you have to be determined and willing to put in the work. This is not something that's handed to you--you truly have to earn it. However, I will say that if you remain persistent and advocate for yourself, the school does make efforts to support you and follow through. Overall, while there is room for improvement in communication, the quality of education and the commitment of key staff members made the experience worthwhile for me and I know this schooling experience will stay with me the rest of my life

I created this account just today to inform anyone interested in knowing. When I found out they closed down and I wanted to see if other people had similar horrible experience has I did. I was flabbergasted when I found a review (3 reviews down) under my name. Which they misspelled my first name as Destiny. Then wrote a "glowing" review of experience "I" had during my time there. I knew it was "me" because of the name, I did attending during July 2021 and they had information about previous courses I've taken they got from the resume I GIVEN THEM WHEN I APPLIED HERE. I was horrified they had the audacity to do this. I hope no joined the program because of that review. My personal experience there was fine until the end where Ann (who I am confident wrote 'my review') treated me extremely unprofessional and shouted at me where students right next to us heard everything, when I stated I couldn't do externship hours during the week she gave me and asked if reschedule them another week. I have never had anyone treated me the way she had to me and actually demotivated me to continue a career as a Phlebotomist. Anyways, just wanted to warn everyone they wrote fake reviews under previous students name and taken information they had from their records. I'm glad they shut down.

Cont. I also would check the google reviews as well as the better business bureau reviews as a lot of them mention the same thing i talked about above! i'm proud to say I still was able to get my certification elsewhere with a much better experience. however if you are looking for a cheaper alternative this is one way to go just be prepared for how they treat their students.

The impact she has on our learning and growth is real, and it deserves to be recognized. We appreciate you, Angelica.

This school is extremely disorganized and does not provide adequate support for students or…read moreprofessors. Students' concerns and questions often go unanswered. They remove essential resources, such as access to printing lab work, and fail to provide physical textbooks. When they switch to e‑books, they still do not deliver them on time. When we ask Dean Michael for clarification, we do not receive a direct answer; instead, he shifts responsibility onto others. He rarely responds to emails in a timely manner--if he responds at all. The school does not provide the necessary ADA accommodations, and even after accommodations are approved, many of them are still not honored. This includes note‑taking assistance, permission to record lectures, or access to recorded lectures. Even in class, we often do not receive the materials we need, leaving both students and professors struggling. They also promise tutoring as part of their academic support, yet they typically have only one or two student tutors available--if any at all. This makes it nearly impossible for students to receive the help they were assured they would have. Another major concern is the issue of transcripts. During enrollment, the school promises that if, for any reason, a student cannot continue in the program, they will provide transcripts so the student can transfer to another institution. They even use Bakersfield College as an example of where students could continue their education. However, they are now telling students that other schools may not accept these transcripts, which directly contradicts what was originally promised. They also fail to provide class schedules in a timely manner. Students often do not receive their schedules until just a few days before classes begin, making it extremely difficult to plan work, childcare, transportation, or study time. When they are trying to enroll new students, they claim there is no waitlist and promise a guaranteed spot through the third semester as long as requirements are met. This is misleading. They only have a limited number of seats, and even if you are forced to sit out a semester, you are not guaranteed a spot in the next round. Overall, the school is highly unorganized, and questions frequently go unanswered--especially by Dean Michael. So make sure to get any promises made from this institution in writing. this is also from a friends account because I am afraid of retaliation since iam still a student
