We booked a room at Hotel Due Leoni almost last-minute to visit some friends in Sacile and what a great accomodation it proved to be! The hotel furnishings are a bit outdated but this actually adds to its charme. I was very surprised to find a perfectly working vintage green SIP telephone on my nightstand- it was a sweet and nostalgic reminder of my youth. The rooms are very spacious with modern bathrooms and all the necessary amenities. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Piazza del Popolo and surrounded by beautiful Venetian-style buildings. An underground parking is available but it does require very skilled drivers to navigate the narrow parking slots. From the underground garage, an elevator takes you directly to the lobby and/or the rooms. The check-in process was fast and smooth with very professional and courteous staff. What really made a difference for us were the highest cleaning standards of the hotel: every surface was sparkling clean with nary a grain of dust to be found, all courtesy of their cleaning lady (I think her name was Elda and she came from Matera?) . Our room had a view on the Livenza River and the church. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend taking some noise-cancelling buds to protect your ears since the bells of the nearby church ring at every hour- it did not bother us. The breakfast buffet is deliciously scrumptious with plenty of variety. We would gladly stay here again.

Service was great especially during breakfast. Breakfast was great! They served eggs lots of bread options, fruits, sweets, juices. And segafrado coffee to order! Only thing I didn't like about this hotel was that the air conditioner could not be turned on until May. It was cool outside, but was not comfortable enough for my taste. The entire facility was clean and taken care of. If I have one single complain, its parking. Like most of Europe, parking is a luxury. The hotel it's self doesn't have any parking. There is limited paid parking (blue lines) on the street in front of the hotel. We opted to park a few blocks away in the free parking (white lines). I had to circle the block a few times waiting for space to open up but no big deal for me. The walk wasn't bad either. And let's face it, after eating the awesome Italian food for two weeks, the walking did me some good. They are also conveniently located to the train station. Easy walk to catch the train to Venice. You are also only two blocks from the city center. Lots of shops and restaurants with in a easy short walk from the hotel. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and I would defiantly stay here again.

The mountains around the town make it very lovely and we enjoyed our stay. The female owner makes this hotel special .. she's so friendly and charming .. and does everything with flare. Dinner entrees were served under silver domes and the unveiling was coordinated for effect. Over all the food on this tour was very disappointing but this was by far one of the better meals included. This Hotel dates back to 1826 as the oldest in town. The decor and woodworking is gorgeous though you do have to watch out for splinters .. so don't shuffle your feet. The doors have real keys with the heaviest key-fabs you've ever seen and some of the door ways are so dark you would find a flashlight helpful. I thought the town, hotel and our room were very cute. Loved having a balcony to go out on with a view. The beds were super firm .. all the beds in Europe have been FIRM which wasn't my comfort preference but must be a Europe thing. the free internet was slow and spotty but enough to check in with family. We had a do not disturb sign on the door but the staff entered anyway .. to clean the room .. close the shudders etc. Didn't like they came in though we put the do not disturb sign .. but noting was stolen or seemed out of place. There is no AC or Fans .. so we were a bit too warm ... thankfully it was spring not summer. As with many in Europe they did not provide hair conditioner which is standard in areas. Even though there were a few things wrong .. the owner was so funny and charming .. we loved her and our stay. When we were leaving she got in the road and stopped traffic for all our group to cross. Now that is service!!!!!
