Can't say enough great things about this place. We arrived without a reservation (thank you hotel desk people who said we probably did not need one) and the place was full already at 8 pm. The people who run the place (really nice) offered to seat us in the corner of the bar by the window where they had been eating 45 minutes earlier. Could not have been happier. Alone in the bar, away from all the other diners. Like we were in our own kitchen with a waiter and chef just for us.
Then came the food! Had appetizers and 2 basic pasta dishes. Ordered the garlic and oil spaghetti based on the recommendation of a regular who was coming in to pick up take-out. 10/10 for that one. Also had home made ravioli with pesto that was so fresh it was excellent. Two courses of food, a bottle of wine and it cost 42 Euros. Unbelievable. A dinner like this in the States would have been over $100 (in the Boston area). Cash only!!!
The waiter was part of the owner family and we chatted a little. One bonus sitting in the bar is we could hear the music playing on their sound system the bar and kitchen seemed to be listening to....they were playing relatively obscure music from John Scofield (Uberjam) that I knew well so I chatted with the waiter about that also. Pretty unusual music to have playing at a little Italian restaurant in a fishing village in Spain. read more
