I said it didn't matter and admitted that I was only passing time anyway. For some reason, she decided to make an exception and do a quick job on my eyes. It may have been my bedraggled and exhausted countenance, but I'm not complaining! Not only did she do my eyes, she did my whole face. I can't believe how quickly she transformed me, and she taught me some new tricks - like blending liner upwards to create a smoky eye. I kept staring at my reflection wondering how she'd created the impression of sleep and the reversal of a few years. I wanted to bring her home with me! There was no pushiness. I was asked if I'd like to purchase anything and chose the miraculous concealer. I kind of want everything she used, but will try to hold out and get them bit by bit. To be honest I was having quite a busy week and was sitting on the fence as to whether or not to cancel. But at the last minute I decided to treat myself-and I definitely didn't regret it! When I arrived Mario my make-up artist ushered me over to the make-up bench where I was offered some water and we discussed the look I wanted. He was really informative, talking me through each of the products that he used. What's more, he wrote all of the products and colours down on a sheet for me to take home. He actually spent an hour in total doing my makeup, and it looked absolutely amazing! Smokey eyes, flawless skin and subtle nudey lips, which were perfect for my Friday night out. The customer service was fantastic. He was friendly and obviously very talented at what he does. What's more, I was under no obligation to buy any of the products. I recommend this to anyone who is into their makeup and fancies trying out a new look!

I like Illamasqua's products I really do, they definitely use concepts, like MAC but much more historic/art based and I think that is really special for a cosmetic brand. Laid-back is the watchword here, and nothing felt rushed or pressured. The prices are not bad for a London salon. Sam has been fantastic on my trial and wedding day! And thankfully I made the right choice with Sam, she was lovely. She did not overpower me with make up knowledge but enough to give me more of an idea what can be done and make me look beautiful. The trial filled me with confidence. On the day itself, she was right on time and put me at ease. She made hair & make up for myself, my sister and mum and all right in time. She really thought it all through with the timing as well. On the wedding day I still had to do a bus ride playlist (which I forgot about) and whilst doing my hair she helped me with this as well. I had a brilliant playlist after all. My make up lasted all day & night and my hair was still in place with my hairpiece. Fantastic work! I messaged her with a date and she said if I could pop a £95 deposit in to her account she will hold the date and then we'll talk trials. She said she had problems with her emails. It was 2 weeks before I heard from her again and I was growing cautious. We finally booked a trial for a month before the wedding but I was hoping to do it sooner as I had a feeling even then that she wasn't too reliable, but I'd already paid my £95 deposit. I text Sam and asked if there's any chance she's free on the following Monday. She said yes and suggested 10am. By 10:15am Monday morning, after calling and texting with no reply, I finally receive a text from Sam saying she's busy, she doesn't remember agreeing to that time (I have a text from her, in her own words, suggesting 10am on Monday). I asked for a refund as I no longer trusted her, who's to say she wouldn't do this on my wedding day? She agreed to refund me. It's been almost 4 weeks and I still haven't been refunded. I text her a few times a week. She texts back all the time, always with a different excuse: her accountant manages the refunds. She's been away. She says "it'll be with you this weekend" and "it'll be in your account by midnight" but, of course, it never is. I still don't have the £95 she owes me for not showing up to my trial. I'm still suspicious she's a con artist and doesn't actually know a thing about hair and make up. The alternative is she's an extremely unprofessional woman who has no idea how to run a business. Either way, I would hate for other brides-to-be to be let down as I have and I hope she never has the chance to rip anyone else off, avoid at all costs!!
