I was surprised to find Warren's Bakery off-the-grid at London Gatwick North Terminal in Horley…read more Catching a puddle jumper to Roma, I find myself at Gatwick one early morning, and in search of a bite. Several options, but I notice Warren's Bakery and with a line too. I'll have a go... I decide to give Warren's a try as I stand in line and peruse the menu. Heck, why not just look in the case instead. Lot's of choices but I choose the meatiest looking bite - The English Breakfast Stack Roll (5.99£). I choose the most chocolatey - The Chocolate Croissant (2.10£). I choose the fruitiest - Mango Passion Smoothie (2.99£). That's my English breakfast to start my day before I slay the day in Roma. The cashier was very polite and cute AF Hermione Granger sorta way. I grab a seat... As I truly enjoy my very hardy breakfast I couldn't help but google "Warren's Bakery" website and it starts of... "Our story began 160 years ago in St Just, Cornwall, with a shared love of baking between a farmer's son and baker's daughter. The Warrens Bakery recipes have been passed down generation after generation, and are still in use today. If you walk into one of our shops 160 years later, you'll still enjoy the fresh smell of Traditional Cornish Pasties baking in the oven. Warren's Bakery, Since 1860." Whoa! Talk about English lineage! All in all, I enjoyed my breakfast at Warren's Bakery. I paid about 11£ (approx $13.70 usd) total for a hardy bite. Not too shabby being at an airport. Alas! ...I didn't get to meet the baker's daughter! However, I did get a smile from cute AF Hermione Granger! Wingardium Leviosa! Ta! Ta!

Years of enforced poverty forced me to seek out the Tesco Value 'blue stripe' - my larder looked like the Brighton and Hove Albion home stand for years! Their bread was especially vile. It was 9p a loaf & I felt cheated. It was like candy floss! Time moves on and those debts were settled. All that remains is my irrational hatred of thinly sliced white bread. So I go here. Wholemeal, granary, low GCI (whatever that is!) or seeded: I'm a 'regular' guy & I intend to keep it that way!!! These guys are Artisans of the first order & their bread rocks. I could eat it all day long but I need to make space & time for their taste-tastic Millionaires (you know, biscuit base, caramel & choc, the size of half a sandwich ideally!!!) too. As The Godfather of Soul might put it 'Say it loud. I'm a pig and I'm proud'............

I love the sandwichs, which you can pick ready made or request for them to make them fresh whilst you wait. The choice of hot food includes sausage rolls, slices, pasties to name a few and are always really tasty. The kids always ask for one of their really lovely gingerbread men, its the only place they will eat them from so thats got to say something! Staff are always polite and the shop has a welcoming feel to it.

Located in South Croydon ( the outskirts of London) this beautiful tea house will leave you day…read moredreaming! After several Google services, I came across Dotty's website, it is well put together and really grabbed my attention Seeing Dotty's in real life was like a dream. The establishment is beautifully decorated and you can tell the owner really invested in the place and the people who work there. There is a pink bicycle parked outside, the establishment is pink, the decor is very elegant--perfect for a photo op I opt to do the afternoon tea with Prosecco added on as well as some scones to go. It was a very fair price per person. Under £80 for the entire experience for 2 people. They also sell other assorted desserts, shakes and cakes All the employees were attentive, they explained in detail what our package came with and they made sure we were happy from start to finish. EVERYTHING was delicious! From the English tea down to the Pimms jello HIGHLY RECOMMEND 10/10!!

I stumbled on the listing while doing a search for tea places before I left Washington, DC to travel to London. Unfortunately I didn't make the reservation myself (relied on family in London to make it) so we didn't get booked for the afternoon tea service as I'd hoped and just had a reserved table instead. Still, I indulged in some scones with cream and strawberry jam, paired with a strong cup of decaf English breakfast tea. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain the drink and pastry options to us. I hope I get a chance to visit again for the full tea service before the end of my trip!
