And besides, you never know what you will find in a small shop like this. And Cat's Crafty Cabin inside Birkenhead Market is no exception. This little shop is a studio as well. The lady (Cat?) who runs it makes greeting cards on the spot and then offers them for sale. She also sells card making and scrap booking supplies such as stickers, stamps, and decoupage.

I would not advise any body to use this store. The manager of the store (who works there on a…read moredaily basis) is extremely rude and obnoxious to customers. She is extremely unhelpful and will go out of her way to be nasty. She makes purposeful mistakes which she will then deny having made and even denies having served that customer. She will not refund and on giving a credit note she will only let you redeem it on the same item that you have returned. She will leave disabled customers waiting even on seeing there discomfort, and the elderly she treats with complete disregard not even allowing them time to put there purchases in bags before making them move from her store. My personal opinion is that she takes advantage of the fact that it is the only wool shop around and thinks she can treat her customers as she feels fit because of this. I would advise people to use Abakhan's or to make the extra journey to Liverpool, because this shop should be avoided at all costs.

I have no clue what I'm doing yet with sewing and buying materials and I asked a young girl if she could help me with questions about fleece and fabrics and the entire time I was talking to her she just gave me a look as if to tell me to bug off. The cashier was a little less hostile but gave me a "she's not going to be able to afford this" smirk when she rang up my price at the till, smirk was wiped away when I paid and then shortly came back with more. All in all the shop was amazing and I will be returning but I do wish the staff would cheer up a bit.

They sell a wide selection of notepads, paper, books, papers, magazines, and even a great pen section that stocks luxurious fountain pen's such as Shceffiers and Watermans! The staff are all very friendly, the shop is well stocked and it's well located within the centre of the illustrious Birkenhead shopping zone. Prepare to be accosted by an army of pigeons and heroin addicts as you leave the shop, but nevertheless, march on unharmed with your newspaper and your fountain pen in hand! The prices are middle of the road, with all the books that they stock selling at their RP, but they do have some decent offers occasionally such as their sales, and they also boast a large confectionary section!

But if you do actually want to make curtains, there is a great variety of fabric here, on the bolt, and sold I think by the metre if I remember correctly. Prices seemed reasonable, but then I don't make curtains. There were fabrics in all colours and textures, and an array of designs.
