This store is known for having some good deals although the majority of the things in here seemed like junk to me, I managed to pick up a few French accesories, for prices actually cheaper than Amazon and they are good, helpful products. They also do similar things for Spanish. The staff could appear to be friendly, I could tell slightly she did not like me asking multiple questions because I didn't notice that passion, like she doesn't like her job, I asked her about what was in the shopping centre, and she seemed empty with ideas and I asked her about their plans to move into the new complex, and she didn't really know of any. To be honest, a first time Wigan visitor like myself who has spent a day revising the town, had a better knowledge. This store is in a deserted shopping centre what for some reason seemed quite busy so I can't rate it too highly on destination, they was a few nice products but the rest I feel are just junk and the staff could show better knowledge and passion therefore I feel 2 stars is a fair rating.

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had been here before, so they knew it was great and brought us back, along with my husband's grandparents. Do take note, you have to book your table in advance. We sat in one of the backrooms which was very cozy and inviting, albeit a bit noisy from a rowdy group of "ladies who lunch," but it was fine once they left. We all really appreciated that savory items were included in the the afternoon tea. The menu features a selection of sandwiches, savouries, a cup of soup, a bucket of chips, a selection of cakes and a mini trifle. Plus your choice of a pot of tea or cup of filter coffee. I was happily surprised at the wide variety of teas! There was ample to eat. My husband and I ate our entire afternoon tea, but everyone else in our group had a few sweet treats left to take home. The food was very delicious. I loved the little quiche best along with the soup served in a cute tea cup and saucer! Plus, the little basket of chips was a nice touch! Scrumptious! Also, it's just 14 pounds for Afternoon Tea which I think it a great value for such a delicious savory tea. TL;DR - Great museum, but fantastic demos of glass making are the real star…read more We came here whilst looking for a day out on a wet and cold day and were pleasantly surprised by what we found. Firstly, admission is free which is always welcome. The building is a mixture of new and old - you enter through an amazing old brick chimney, but inside you find a modern gallery (shared with the local library). There are exhibits on the history of glass making in the area as well as displays of art work. There's a well stocked shop, and a cafe too. A connecting bridge over the canal takes you to the museum part of the site, based in old glassworks which have been partially restored. The real highlight though was the glassblowing workshop. You do have to pay to watch these, but it was well worth it. When we went, we were the only two people present so effectively got a personal demonstration. Absolutely fabulous and highly recommended.
