TLDR: St. Matthew's Preschool & Kindergarten has been an absolute dream come true. Period…read more As my littles became more mobile, I quickly realized they needed more socialization but after going to the library, the park, a different library, back to the park again over and over and over every week... I'll be honest, I was exhausted. Time to look into preschool. I made a checklist of all... the... things... to ask. Cameras? Covid precautions and protocol? Student/teacher ratio? License and accreditation? Discipline policy? Curriculum? Immunization policy? Communication method? Safety policy and protocol? And so on and so on. Yep, I was *that* mom. I know. I know. I knnnoooowww. ‍ I spent hours looking at websites. On nice days, I drove by centers or schools during operating hours to see if the kids outside were playing AND being watched, as well as how many staff were present. I'll stop now because I'm mortified that I did that but my tiny hurricanes are my EVERYTHING. St. Matthews wasn't even on my radar because I lived over an hour away. But when I learned some teachers have been there for 20+ years, the program is small but mighty and I immediately felt comfortable, like *this* was what I was waiting for... without even touring or dissecting the website oorrr canvassing the building, I asked for my three year old to be put on the waitlist. When a spot opened up, he was so excited annnd then I realized I didn't even know how much it cost. ‍ I was SHOCKED (and grateful) at how affordable it is. The adjustment for my son going from being my sidekick to "away" was a little difficult but it did not last long and I credit that to Ms. Deja and Ms. Priyanka. They are AMAZING. Ms. Deja gave me some tips and tricks to help smooth the transition and it worked perfectly and quickly. Ms. Dalex even called to let me know that he was doing great after one super teary drop off. I swore she was calling me to pick him up LOL and I so appreciated the communication. When they started to work on writing their names, Ms. Deja knew that my son could already do that (humble brag ) and took the initiative to help him work on his handwriting, writing in the lines and lowercase and capital letters. She did not have to do that but the fact that she did speaks volumes. Things are going so well that my two year old was recently enrolled. Ms. Robin and Ms. Bijal are beyond patient and the communication is timely and impeccable. My daughter is not yet potty trained so I was hesitant to put her into a program but Ms. Robin shared the daily schedule with me (which includes changing/potty times) and we have had ZERO issues with diaper rash, being wet when picked up, soiled clothes or anything. There is chapel but it is not required. There are different events like Thanksgiving lunch and breakfast with Santa as well as some really creative fundraisers like the Pumpkin sale and Art Auction. There are even after school activities available. From someone who claimed to never EVER allow my children to be in a childcare setting until they could articulate to me the who, what, where, when, how and why of their day (did I mention I was that mom?) believe me when I say I wish I would have gotten them in sooner.

1 star is being generous considering management has no integrity. The small residential turned…read morecommercial property is one star only because of the uniforms the children are required to wear. Not wheelchair accessible either with no cameras was also a red flag. They have a problem keeping staff around, I noticed months ago and I was told during my visit that a senior instructor was leaving. I dont blame the staff because of managements spurious sense of care. No need for you all to lure parents in to visit your little house school with false promises and covert discriminatory behavior once they leave because they didnt pass your projecting manipulative test. If you dont like the look and skin colors of the intellectual parents you cannot manipulate, surely you couldn't genuinely care for their offspring. Be careful not to leave your children around people so miserable they refuse to provide or heat up food for a 17 month old enrolled at their "school" with a tuition. This is optional childcare before grade school and these are the type of people that make you want to keep your kid home schooled.

At 4 years of age my son's degree of concentration, ability to problem solve, love and understanding of nature and level of creativity are far beyond my expectations. I know with these skills he will have an outstanding foundation to grow from. My 1 year old is also greatly benefiting from this environment, at 15 months she has shown me how capable even a toddler can be. She feeds herself independently, can drink from a cup, is working on dressing herself, "helps" me with chores and takes great pride in showing me what she can do. The teachers or "guides" are all wonderful and truly care about your children. I strongly recommend this school to anyone.

Please take heed and do not send your toddler here, especially if they are more of the shy…read moreintroverted type and especially not if they have any special needs like speech delay. This place is chaotic, serve really bad food for the littles, unstructured, staff with little to no training, non communicative to parents, not transparent when you ask them about how your child is doing, I can go on for days. Placing my 2 yr old here for two weeks was one of my greatest regrets! Do not do it, look elsewhere!

My little girl started pre-k here this year. I came here on the recommendations from a couple…read moreco-workers that had their children come here. The pre-K here is Georgia Funded and it's on a first come basis. So they set a date early in the year and you pretty much come by 7 or something to stand in line and hope you get a spot. They have a few different classrooms with different start times. You can request a certain time if it works better for you. So far my daughter has been there for a few weeks and she loves it. I ask her everyday what she thinks and she never has a bad thing to say. They learn different things on a weekly basis. We're only on week 3 so I can't really comment on the learning aspect. They have optional internet monitoring. You pay extra for it if you want it. It's not the best but it's cheap. You can't watch the video on a MAC or on a newer 64 bit computer so you better have an old one. Luckily my father had one. :) The video you see is in one corner of the room your child is in and that's all you get. But to be honest, its okay to check in every once in a while. In my opinion you shouldn't be glued to the video at home anyway. You should have a little trust.
