Logically, get a male neutered vs. getting a female spayed will cost less. Correct?…read more Well, any reasonable person would think so. Not this clinic. I spayed my girl cat in 2007, at a vet clinic near Bloorcourt village. A much more invasive procedure comes with the price tag. My tip money for two weeks went to the $250 dollar vet bill for second shots and spaying. This is normal, anaesthesia, cutting in, maneuvering a small feline body to do an ovariohysterectomy = money! I took my baby boy cat to the Davenport Rd Vet Clinic in 2010. I asked for a quote for the neutering, as I realized the prices may be high (considering the first consultation cost $170 unexpected dollars). What was the quote? $500. CRAZY! Do not go here. The care and customer service do not equate to that kind of bill, I don't care how much you love your pet. The prices are probably high due to location. Annex, Forest Hill, Yorkville, in the clinic's backyard. Unfortunately, I am not a doctor making 6 digits. I love my guys, but I found a nicer vet, for a much more reasonable price, in the exact same area.

Myself, my partner and our dog are so grateful for all the staff at this clinic. They have gone above and beyond any expectations you could ever ask for at a vets. It makes me feel so much better leaving Norie with people that are fond of her and her just as equally excited to spend time with. Norie loves her time at DRAH and not only my family but also our friends families think you should try them out! Thanks for everything Davenport Road Animal Hospital, see you next Friday.

Every pet owner knows how stressful a visit to the vet can be for their beloved fur children…read more That's why I was so pleased when the staff at Blue Cross put in extra effort to ensure that my cat felt comfortable during his examination. I was an emotional wreck when I got his diagnosis, but the team did a great job of offering genuine empathy and support. They provided me with advice that I use on a daily basis to maintain my cat's health and I've called in on a few occasions to ask for help, which they are always happy to provide. I have also used their pet boarding service - They took good care of my cat and gave him all his special meals and scheduled medication. At my request, they provided me with a detailed report of everything that happened while he was under their care. The cost is on the higher end - Especially for prescription medications. As a result, I prefer to get the prescriptions refilled elsewhere. However, I will continue to bring my pets here for check-ups as the expertise, service and dedication of the vets, techs and admin staff is worth the money.

After his check up the vet said he needed to come back for yet MORE shots because of some non descript reason that I never heard of. Also he told me as an afterthought that my dog had a heart murmer and he knew a dog cardiologist that would look at him. He tried to make an appointment but I said no because I knew the Dr. was trying to milk more money from me. I know my dog and he is a very healthy 12 year old now. Just came back from our new vet in a smaller town for my dog's annual and the Dr. told me his heart is in excellent shape for a dog his age. I asked about the murmer and he said "What murmer? , your dog's heart is fine." It's a terrible shame that Blue Cross has sunk that low to attempt to financially bleed pet owners this way. Disgraceful.

They responded telling me it was in everyone's best interest if I went to another vet in the future, without acknowledging the mistake in care, or any kind of reflection or peer review process. Their response is why people are cowards hiding behind Google reviews - I reached out to them directly and they were defensive and dismissive.

Despite this long-standing relationship, today they refused to verify a prescription they themselves had issued for my dog's medication because of an outstanding $30 fee-- a charge they imposed simply for writing the prescription. The issue stemmed from their failure to update the card I had provided on file during a prior visit. I also had another medication waiting to be picked up, which could have easily been settled at the same time. I've been taking our pets to Leslieville Animal Hospital for several years. I think they're…read morereliable and the people are very friendly. However, they have some unreasonable policies that prioritize profit over animals and service. For example, I recently took my 12 year old cat in for a regular appointment and to have his teeth checked (he has FIV and a history of dental issues and we've spent over $5000 having his teeth cleaned here since we adopted him). I was told he should have another dental surgery for cleaning and possible tooth removal. LAH provided me with a quote which was good for 90 days. I decided to move forward with the surgery but didn't let them know until about 120 days after I received the quote. I was then told that the quote had expired and had to bring him back in for another check up, no exceptions. This was irritating as he is an anxious animal who hates the car and I had to take time out of my day and off work. I explained this but they didn't care. I went ahead and booked another appointment anyway. The next appointment resulted in an identical quote and we booked his dental appointment the next week. A couple of months later, during the week of his appointment, they called and told me they had to cancel because the surgeon was sick. They said they could re-book if for the next month even though they pushed his surgery beyond the 90 day window and he wouldn't need another appointment. To summarize.. they made me come back to their office even though it stressed out my cat, cost me an extra ~$150 in vet bills, required I take time off work and delayed my cats surgery. But they were fine doing that exact same thing just a couple of months later. Which proves that they never NEEDED me to come back in in the first place. I'm not happy but I trust the people that work there. I hope the company that owns the clinic re-thinks it's profit-driven policies in the future.

I dont know if this is just anger or regret.. but i, in my heart, believe that the way they dealt…read morewith my cat was.... straight up wrong. the nonchalant way they kept suggesting (and in their defense, i accepted) more injections and misdiagnosing .. or not ever properly diagnosing at all. i believe i prematurely brought my pets life to an end. i have heard bad things about this spot but because of its convenience, its location in relation to our home and work place, i turned a blind eye. maybe i am wrong, maybe i am overreacting.... but i did not trust this spot. and under their care i watched my pet die ... in an accelerated manner. ever since the first visit, my pet ...my friend... has been trying to recover from every visit to this place. worse and worse with every visit ... not before but after.... not trying to recover from her sickness... but from their "treatment" of it . from highly dismissive diagnosis to almost non existent directions (where i had to look it up on youtube to get the proper application for an ointment ... for instance)..... it is my fault for continually trusting this place. a good doctor will suggest what is best for the patient, not the cash register. this is not my opinion... this is what happened. In the end, when my pet was finally so weak and going to die.... we still went back here to put her down. we waited for over 30 minutes ... her final minutes, in the waiting room... with other healthy animals and cellphones ringing away. One would think that if you are running behind, and someone is bringing their loved one to die... you would give them a call in advance. maybe treat them and THEIR PATIENT in a caring manner. No, why bother... another dollar is another dollar after all. Finally ... when she died, she did not go gently into a deep sleep ... she gasped for life and cried out as she died in my girlfriends arms. I KNOW this is not necessary... she could've been sedated properly and the process not rushed... where she would not even be conscious of this. This is sloppy bad veteranian work and the way a revolving door business works. And again this is my fault for coming back here. i dont blame them for my pets death... she was old.. and it was inevitiable... but this manner of dealing with living things in such a non passionate way.... it is inexcusable... i should have gone with my gut and never gone here... or worse, kept coming back (they have her file etc etc). this is not an attack on this place or the people that work there..... but this is what i feel in my heart. for real. all of these reviews... i have no idea how they exist... all of my friends told me to not go here. i didnt listen. my little girl is gone now. I do not blame them for her death, but they did not do a goddamn thing to help her. even after blood tests and scans.. they still had no proper diagnosis or any answers at all... just another suggestion for another test..... their only solution was more and more visits...more and more drugs. my father, is going thru the same thing, more and more perscriptions... out the door so the next patient can come in.. another dollar sign. i accepted all of this, which i regret. if a doctor or vet is not willing to admit or suggest that maybe its best to keep your pet at home.. that maybe more drugs and visits can be detrimental to their health... would you trust them? would you trust a place that doesnt even defend their stance? that after talking and trying to reason and figure out their logic.. they say "maybe you are right"? i truly think that they are not fully concerned or have their heart in this.... this being veteranarian care. i think they have so many patients they cannot deal with the workload and are not giving the care for each patient they deserve. their patients arent people obviously, but that doesnt mean they are disposable. Whatever may be... the bottom line is ... you cannot end my friends life in such a nonchalant and violent manner. It is unnecessary and now it is in the past. So, go ahead and delete this review .. or write some rebuttal about how you are sorry about my experience.... it will not change what happened and the actual truth. i cant believe i am writing a yelp review about this, but i wish i had read something like this before i put cat (RIP) blindly in their care. i am heartbroken, and this place did nothing to stop that from happening... in fact, they accelerated it.... and in the end..... ended it in the worst way possible. that is all.
