The final cost was approx 3 times the original bid, it took months longer than expected, and an employee left during the job and a new one had to get up to speed on it. I literally called around to switch companies because I was so frustrated but was told they'd have to start the whole process from scratch because of legal concerns using someone else's calculations. Six months later, the second engineer provided only partially finished plans (yet required 85% of the payments). We then had to repeatedly ask for the plans after that. Finally got the plans 7 months later after he gave them to the architect - we didn't even get a chance to review them. This was probably by design because there were 71 caissons, 50 feet deep on the plans making it impossible to build from a cost standpoint, They then said they could help us with another solution (at of course additional costs to us). Needless to say, we pursued that option but not with this company. We are extremely happy with the structural engineering company we ultimately used - after way to much wasted time and money for unusable structural plans from this company.
