Not once was I told this wasn't acceptable. They used this after I complained about Ada rights. I tried to fight for the disability harassment but got too sick from the stress they caused me to continue. I was hospitalized.

We were there in April, and found the campground to be very quiet and peaceful all 5 days we were there. Over the weekend, even with the campground filling up, it was still peaceful. The spots are well distanced from each other. It was a bit cold for swimming, but we did walk to the edge and try fishing. My only complaint is the online booking - there is a lack of photos of each site, and it's really hard to tell what the access to the water looks like. Some of the spots have an easier access to get into the water than others, especially for small children. We used campsitephotos.com to get an idea of what the sites looked like.

There's no bathhouse, but with full hookups it wasn't a problem. The grounds crew is out every day and the park is very clean. Easy access off I-20 with restaurants and shopping close by. Would definitely stay again.

One full bed and one set of bunk beds. One small dorm-type refrigerator and a small microwave. One thing I learned quick was to not run the microwave while the refrigerator is also plugged in as the breaker will trip. So I unplugged the refrigerator whenever I needed to use the microwave. The refrigerator will hold several bottles of water, ham, cheese, mayo, etc. I also brought some soup and a soup mug to use in the microwave. Also to note, it's about a 30-45 second walk to the bath house, at least from cabin 3. The bed wasn't horribly uncomfortable. I had my pillows and sleeping bag from home and was quite comfortable. The little Gree mini-split unit kept the cabin at a great temperature. Now for the not-so-good things. First, a metal roof surrounded by trees, some of which were dropping acorns. Large acorns hitting a metal roof from high up make a very loud BANG when they hit the roof. Quite the scare in the middle of the night. That's my only complaint. There was a nice little front porch and a picnic table with fire pit close by. I must say it was a great weekend away from the hustle and bustle of life. I'm still giving this review 5 stars. The state park employees work very hard to make sure you have a great experience. And you have to want to be a state park employee. It's not just a job you get. You have to have a passion for it.

The park offers a road loop, a trail that's sort of a loop (though part of it seemed to be closed so I ended up walking back on the road), and various picnic, camping, and canoeing facilities. The canoe trail in particular looked like a good time. There is a small admission charge (which I dodged on a holiday where they opened up for free). This isn't the most impressive of South Carolina's state parks, but the trees offer a relatively moderate temperature underneath, and the flowing water is quite pleasant.

My husband and I called this place home for over two years. We just moved out and miss it already…read more From day one the managers at the time were so nice and super helpful to us first timers. The owners are great folks also. Very pet friendly! We made many memories here with our family, mainly the grandkids, who are already asking if we can go back and visit. They loved fishing in the pond, playing on the swings and basketball court, and walking the trails. Its a very peaceful and beautiful place. Would definitely recommend to anyone for short or long term stay.
