His eye was nearly swollen shut when I brought him in but they brushed it off. Turns out it was a botfly maggot.

I took my rabbit here a few weeks ago because he was acting strange and his eye was all puffy. They barely looked at his eye and pushed getting a facial x-ray for his teeth. I told them I knew the issue wasn't his teeth but they kept pushing for more tests. After an over $250 vet bill I took him home and later while just petting him saw that he had an open wound above his eye which had a maggot. I took him to the emergency vet and they were able to fix him up just fine and were extremely shocked and disheartened that Cedar didn't notice this, even after I asked them several times about his eye and seemed to rush me out of the office without wanting to show me how to give him his medication. Needless to say I will not be returning with my rabbit. Bottom line is they are overpriced and not thorough, do not let them talk you into expensive tests if you don't think they are necessary.

My very healthy sugar glider, Edgar! Thanks to Cedar Pet Clinic he is alive and well!

Truthfully, I don't have experience with other vet clinics but so far, I appreciate how kind the staff has been. They all seem like pet people and get how important our pets are. Our initial appointment, we were going to leave with just what they assumed to be something minor but Dr Natalie listened to my concerns after pressing more and offered to do a chest x-ray to rule anything out--turned out to be early pneumonia. Glad I pushed for more and that Dr. Natalie listened to my concerns.

We are new to the area and wanted to find a reputable vet that would care for my fur baby like their own. A couple of places I called that are near me weren't taking any new patients. This vet is a bit farther away but so worth the drive. I was immediately greeted by the staff and taken into a room. Zero wait time! Everyone was so kind and sweet to my dog. The doctor took her time to explain everything and she was welcoming of questions and suggestions. She did not rush or suggest anything we weren't comfortable with. Which is so important because some vets want the easy way out. She understands as a pet parent herself. I especially loved her attitude and kindness! I highly recommend this vet office!

****UPDATE**** Recently brought my newest fur baby Kylo to…read moreAt Home. We brought him here initially because of the great experience we had in the past. Our Favorite vet, Dr. Kate, is no longer here. I brought Kylo in to get chipped because we have another cat with a weight problem, so we got feeders that work with chips. They do come with collar tags, but our cats are strictly indoor cats, and are not used to collars...so chips would work out best in the long run. We scheduled an appointment to get Kylo chipped. When Dr. Pepin came in, she first advised me that I should have had him chipped when he was neutered. I told her that at the time, it was not an issue, and it was an expensive option, so we didn't feel the need for it. She then told me that it's a big needle and it's better for it to be done when they are already sedated...I understood, but at the same time, we didn't need it done, so it is what it is. She still seemed to judge me, and said, "well, maybe you'll be better informed next time." She then proceeded to tell me they would try, but that the last time Kylo was in, he was a bit troublesome and they might not be able to do it because of his behavior. The last time he was there, he was a kitten. He has NEVER been aggressive, or any sort of problem whatsoever...I asked why she would say that, and Dr. Peppin said he was a problem at the end of his visit, which I don't believe for a second. He was a baby...She then discredited me and said "well it he was a problem at the end"...What end? Then aske if I was sure that we never had him chipped. I said I was positive, and she said, "we'll scan him just to make sure your memory is good". How condescending can you be? I loved brining my animals here, but this ruined everything. When my elderly cat who was 18 yrs old died, the doctor at the time was the sweetest and most supportive person I could ever hope for. Dr. Kate. Dr. Pepin, the opposite. I will be leaving At Home because of this. The judgement was unexpected, and definitely unjustified. I am a pretty confident person. I would not say I am overly sensitive, I can take abuse, but I love my cat, and I always have what is best for him in mind....So I didn't have him chipped when he was neutered, well that was a year ago, we are past that now...do I wish I would have done it then, Yes...but can I do anything about it now...No...But to be told, "well, now you'll be better educated for the next time"...as if I am some ignorant a hole pet owner, was too much. Goodbye. My family, who brings all their pets to you, will be leaving. It was a good run, and the rest of the staff for the most part is probably great, but this was the straw the camel didn't see coming....

I had not yet taken her to a vet, so I called At Home Animal Clinic on the advice of a friend. They were able to fit me in that day, but were unable to do lab work because the cat was so dehydrated. They rehydrated her and gave her medication to help with her touchy stomach and had me bring her in the next day for blood work. When the results came in, they were not good. I made the difficult decision to have her euthanized. At Home accommodated us quickly so kitty would not continue to suffer. They were gentle and compassionate, and I felt their prices were reasonable. I highly recommend them.

First off, beware that some of the reviews tied to this clinic are actually from the former owner,…read moreSilver Lake Animal Hospital which was bought by Hometown. Silver Lake was great ... Hometown has challenges. There are plenty of other vets in the area, so I would highly recommend that you keep looking and avoid Hometown. There seems to be a revolving door of veterinarians at the clinic now, and the quality has not improved. We recently took our dog in for a surgery which ended up being a disaster. The first attempt they apparently couldn't get an IV into our dog (she is a huge dog, so this should not have been challenging) - they stated that they tried 4 times. No surgery that day, but we did get a $500 bill for the medications used for the failed "attempt". Next step ... off to Champlin (another Hometown location) 2 weeks later because they have a limited number of vets who can do anything surgical. This time they were able to get the IV (I'm not sure what changed) in and the surgery went well. 2 days later the sutures popped out and the wound opened. Back to the vet and now they put in staples ... a $68 charge this time. The next day, the staples fell out and the wound opened back up. Back to the vet for yet another attempt ... $260, after a $90 discount b/c we questioned why we were even being charged again when clearly they should have taken responsibility for this issue. The good news is that this last attempt worked well. One more quick note on their customer/patient service: as we were checking out, the front desk person handed us a bag of supplies to be used to replace the wound covering every 3 days. I'm not going to paste a picture because it would be too gory, but this wound covering is very complex with different ties, sutures, coverings, etc. It seemed that they were just going to let us go home and figure out how to change the dressing properly on our own. We did ask for the technician to come explain the process to us - she looked highly annoyed that we needed help. One of the lead vets did come out and explain how to replace the dressings - thankfully as it was pretty complicated. So ... in summary, use this vet at your own risk, and definitely watch your wallet given these excessive charges.
