After attending SK for less than a year, I decided to try the alternative school. Most people think…read morethat alternative schools are for "bad kids." This is not the case. The school was fantastic. Yes there are alot of teen moms that go here, but so what, they would be completely rejected at the regular high schools. The kids that go here are amazing, they have had all kinds of obstacles to jump through in their lives. The student to teacher ratio is so much better than SK. There are about 15 kids per class. The work that is done here is based on what level you are at in a particular subject and then you climb the latter from there, instead of just getting thrown into a class and not knowing what to expect. They still have programs like ASB and yearbook, and they take a trip the Puyallup Fair every year. The best part is you still get a regular high school diploma. Some of the perks are you get an off campus lunch, you only go 2 days a week so it gives students the opportunity to work part time. The teachers are amazing, and the principal and admin staff are so nice. I loved this school.

Not only was I able to graduate on time, but the type of instruction helped me to feel motivated. I received individualized support for school and life skills. I have gone on to college to get a BA. Mrs. Casad, would never let me step foot into her classroom, she would meet me at the door, give me a paper, and send me to the library where the GYM teacher Mr. O'Donnell would give me assistance if I didn't know something. Mr. Brown the history teacher and Mr. Davis the science teacher and football/wrestling coach, were two of the best teachers ever. Neither of them simply let their students fail, unlike many of their colleagues in the district. I want to thank them specifically for good education at MWJH Other than that, class sizes were good. food was good. Discipline was fair. I would enroll my son into this school, and move him out of the district before SKHS.

I attended BHS all four years of my high school career and saw countless fights, drugs, SALE OF DRUGS, disrespectful teachers, ambulances in our parking lot, teachers that don't show up, grading policies that vary between teachers. I have countless stories of unjust actions, dangerous ideals that are allowed, and just utter garbage use of a school. The worst teacher I've ever had was Ms. Krisher. She should never have been allowed in a classroom. She told freshman females (15/16 years old) they shouldn't be wearing bras because it's oppressive. She told boys they're never going to do as much for society as the girls. This was a bad high school. GO TO CENTRAL KITSAP, ITS MUCH BETTER.
