I'm a bit quirky in that I adore rocks and non-precious stones and could give a fig about diamonds…read moreand emeralds. What I'm currently wearing on my ring finger is a lovely but uncut ruby, and I sometimes wear the One Ring from Lord of the Rings. So I'm basically Sauron. Since I go for things like the Michigan-only Petosky Stones and Leland Blues, this store ranks among my all-time favorite jewelry shops. They feature gorgeous Michigan stones in lovely settings (I especially like their Michigsn pendant with Petosky stone for the state and Leland Blue representing Lake Michigan).

Way to pick up a great gift for a rock lover…read more Stumbled across this business while on a touristic endeavour. If you are someone who has a fascination with stones (not limited to crazy rubies or emeralds, but also the kind magpie-humans swoop on in nature), you need to check this out. They've raised the bar for the amateur rock-lover by making intricate trinkets from nature available, at a wide price range. I found their petoskey stone collection particularly creative. For example, there were cute mini bears carved out of petoskey stones (the final product was about 1cm across) for $5, and even petoskey stones in the shape of Michigan. For those who don't know, petoskey stones are Michigan's state stone, and are in fact fossils of corals formed by ancient glaciers moving across Michigan. The store's collection included more than just petoskey stones, to more sophisticated larimars (white and aquamarine in colour), kaleidoscopic chrysocollas, and more! Stones that were strung on necklaces or earrings tended to be more expensive than just the stones themselves. There were also DIY kits, such as petoskey stone polishing kits which include an unpolished petoskey stone ($8). I saw a similar kit selling for more $ at Point Betsie's gift shop, so this place seems to have reasonable prices. I didn't buy something here because I had already picked up some trinkets before seeing this shop, but I would have totally come here first if I'd known about it then. In spite of that, service was so cheery and helpful, and the products were so charming, that I felt compelled to write a review.
