I'm in the Northwestern system, but the ambulance had to take me to Rush because it's so close. All I can say is that EVERYONE did a tremendous job with me. They responded to every request I had. They explained every test, procedure, IV and medication--which I demand--without me having to drag information out of them. I didn't feel like I was caught up in a slow bureaucracy, or was just another revenue source. They made me very comfortable as I was improving. "Close the door and turn off the light please." And they did, every time! Sounds small, but it was a huge comfort. They thought of me instead of only making things easier for themselves, which I've experienced. When I could eat real food, I got a big plate of pot roast and mashed potatoes; not bad! But who eats that much? :-)) One HUGE problem. The in-room phone rang off the GD hook with AI robocalls trying to sell me everything from funeral insurance to grocery programs to therapy. I needed to keep the phone live because my mobile phone was dead for awhile. If I hung up, they'd call back Immediately. You know how many distractions there are to sleep in a hospital? THESE CALLS DOUBLED THOSE INTERRUPTIONS. Woke me up EVERY time. RUSH: These calls are a substantial and authentic obstacle to getting well, which is your business. I mentioned it to a doctor, and he had a resigned "That happens." NOT good enough. They've GOT to do something about that. It felt like way more than a coincidence that those calls were coming in. It is nothing more than TOTAL B.S. But I'm reviewing the people here. P.S. THANK YOU (name redacted) for slipping me that cup of ice water. Whew.

Now my wife went there for a second opinion on open heart surgery and guess what? No one I mean NO ONE has gotten back to her yet 7 months later and the excuse they all use is I'm waiting on your medical records. I can be treated like crap for free I don't need to pay for it. If you value your life and you are hell bent on coming here stay on them because if you don't they will forget all about you. And, before you ask I have one of the best insurances in the country, so getting paid was not a problem. In closing there are too many sick people and not enough doctors to take care of all of them and it's so easy at RUSH to fall through the cracks. Keith who works the front desk is nice, is very professional and takes the time to go over paperwork, the process, payment and scheduling. The "6 question prep" before I came into the office consultation was a snap (my insurance company had no issues and answered everything). The consultation was with Dr. Dragomir Jovanovic in Arlington Heights. He explained the procedure, took time to answer each and every question I had, and he took the time to explain however rare any remote discomfort / side effects that could occur. I was so ready to go after that, I scheduled it for the following week (today 06/27) which was my 45th birthday! I also loved the way they handle the payment. I just decided to make it easy for me. Paid the amount due right there with my credit card and it's out of sight out of mind after that. Today, the only stress I had was traffic. I took the prescribed muscle relaxer 30 mins prior to arrival, and it really helped to "chill me out" for the appointment. I didn't have any really anxiety over the procedure, I just had a combination of Internet reading and my co-workers teasing me about it the past week going in my head. I had the first appointment of the day. Keith was there, escorted me into the waiting area. I did not have to wait long, and if I haven't said it before, I'll say it again. He's a professional and very courteous. I was escorted into a room where Dr. Jovanovic greeted me at the door. We soon got started and the anesthesia application is literally ALL you feel during the whole process. If I had to give it a "1-10" for how much you feel it - it would be a 1 at best. It's like a little poke and it's done. Dr. Jovanovic and I talked the entire time. Complete, funny conversations and before you know it, one side was done and then the other side. He showed me the sections of vas deferens that he removed and a gauze pad which had very little blood on it, and it was DONE! To be honest, without showing me that, you wouldn't even know he did something down there. Dr. Jovanovic and Keith reviewed what to do post-procedure and I walked out, literally 30 minutes later. I couldn't believe how easy it was. I think the most complicated instruction was bathing tomorrow and making sure the gauze is in place. So...I'm about 3 hours post-procedure. No pain, no discomfort. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I could work out right now. Thanks again and kudos to Dr. Jovanovic and Keith. You made this experience amazing and I will refer you the Vasectomy Clinics of Chicago to EVERYONE.

Especially the emergency department is horrible it's turning into a mini cook country hospital from years ago! They need to improve the quality of the waiting room and the bathrooms are dirty!! Jorgenson…read more Over the course of my mother's care, it has been extremely difficult to obtain timely appointments with Dr. Jorgenson. She is frequently unavailable, and appointments are repeatedly rescheduled by the office to other physicians within the same network because she is unavailable. In addition, messages often go unanswered, making it very difficult to communicate regarding important medical issues. My greatest concern occurred today when Dr. Jorgenson refused to authorize a refill of my mother's high blood pressure medication. My mother is 84 years old and has a history of hypertension. At the time the refill was denied, she had completely run out of her medication. T he reason given was that my mother had not been seen in one to two years. However, this is inaccurate. We have been to the office at least twice during 2026. On multiple occasions, appointments originally scheduled with Dr. Jorgenson were rescheduled by the office because she was unavailable. It is unfair for my mother to be denied essential medication due to circumstances beyond her control. The pharmacist at our local pharmacy also expressed concern about the situation, stating that abruptly discontinuing blood pressure medication in an elderly patient could place her at unnecessary medical risk. Despite this, we were told that no refill would be provided and that my mother would have to wait until her next appointment on July 14 before receiving her medication. I find this situation deeply concerning. Denying an 84-year-old patient access to essential blood pressure medication while requiring her to wait weeks for an appointment raises serious concerns about continuity of care and patient safety. I advise you all to be careful. Specially lf your elderly individuals with chronic medical conditions--or your Children's are been seen and put at risk by careless this individuals.

We had such a…read moregreat experience on the Labor and Delivery Floor (3rd) that it makes me want to have another kid. The staff in the delivery room was welcoming and the room was cozy. My wife had a great experience - felt comfortable, safe, and informed throughout the entire labor. She loved her OB, Dr. Barry - she was encouraging, honest, compassionate, and patient with us. She took care of my life and I really appreciated her for that. After delivery, you're taken to the Mother Baby rooms with what have to be the best nurses in the city of Chicago. They're honest, quick responding, funny, and obviously love their jobs. Thanks Rose for the newborn bath that put him to sleep for 4 hours! Chris and Lauren, thank you for answering our questions and making us feel confident in becoming parents. Martha, the on-site lactation consultant, is professional and was eager to teach my wife all about how to breastfeed. Overall, we felt welcomed and supported while on the 3rd floor at Mercy. Really, we just want others to know about this hidden gem because we hadn't seen any reviews about it online. Thanks to the entire staff on the 3rd floor.

I was on my way to a gig when my sister called, frantic our other sister, who was visiting for the weekend, had suddenly fallen ill and was taken to Mercy Hospital. I dropped everything and headed there right away. When I arrived, there was confusion about visitors, and my sister was asked to leave so they could treat our patient. When I was finally allowed back, I was alarmed by what I saw: my sister was unconscious, foaming at the mouth, and lying on her back with no doctor or nurse in the room. I immediately turned her on her side so she wouldn't choke. After waiting about 10 minutes with no staff checking in, I went to find help. Nurses in the area couldn't tell me who was assigned to her, and I was given paper towels to manage her condition myself. After about 30 more minutes, I finally found a nurse at the desk who said she was assigned to my sister. When I asked why no one had come to check on her, I was told my sister had been "extra drunk," combative, and had spit on staff so they essentially left her there. Despite this, she had still not received fluids or proper care. The nurse also mentioned her shift was ending soon and that someone else would take over. However, another hour and a half passed with no one checking on my sister. Eventually, a doctor briefly stopped by and said she would wake up in a few hours pending toxicology. When my sister finally regained consciousness, she was disoriented, confused, and not behaving normally. It took multiple attempts just to get assistance for something as basic as helping her to the restroom. At that point, it had been over four hours with little to no care. We requested a toxicology report, especially since her symptoms suggested she may have been drugged. Although blood had apparently been drawn (there were even remnants left in the room), we never received any results. The room itself was also concerning there were gnats and visible lack of cleanliness. When a new nurse came on shift, the attitude was dismissive. We were told we could leave, even though my sister clearly wasn't stable. When asked to collect a urine sample, the nurse refused to assist and said it was only being done to "satisfy" us. We complied anyway, but to this day, we have not received any follow-up or results. This was one of the most neglectful medical experiences I've ever witnessed. My sister could have choked on her own vomit. Over the 4-5 hours we were there, I don't believe her assigned nurse ever once checked on her in the room. Thankfully, we were there to advocate for her but that shouldn't be necessary for someone to receive basic care. I'm sharing this because no family should have to go through something like this. I truly hope Mercy Hospital takes steps to improve patient care and accountability so this doesn't happen to someone else.
