I love my Toyota Sequoia, but the service department has been a huge disappointment…read more I have taken my Sequoia in many times, and every single time they are "too busy" to get to my vehicle -- even when I have an appointment. There is always an excuse. This time it's "the new system," but meanwhile my car still needs service and nothing gets done. What's the point of making an appointment if they can't honor it? The sad part is that I truly love my Sequoia and Toyota makes great vehicles. But because of this service department, I'm honestly considering switching brands when it's time to buy a new vehicle. Customer service matters just as much as the product. Toyota deserves better service than this location provides.

My husband arrived in Del Rio from out of state in his older Toyota pick-up truck, he noticed some…read morebrake issues during his trip and wanted to take his truck in for service just in case. We took the truck in on a Saturday morning, explaining the situation and that we were fine if the truck wasn't ready for a few days. The problems with my husband's truck were discussed along with the work that would be needed to take care of them and the cost for the work was not an issue with us, we just wanted the work done. Phone calls to the service desk went fine the first few times but then turned into the usual game of no returned calls, calls answered by someone with no clue to the situation or put on hold for long periods. Showing up at the dealership in person seemed to catch people off guard, and the answers to our questions were always met with other customers' issues. A few days turned into weeks, all the while I'm still making contact every other day over the phone or going to the dealership in person. My husband had to leave Del Rio without his truck because there seemed to be no end in sight. A phone call from the service desk comes in saying the truck is ready with a lower price for the work because the mechanic didn't fix everything as originally planned. We insisted to have everything done that we had agreed to when we first took the truck in, that would take almost another two weeks. Yes, my husband's truck was older, and had rust issues that made the work difficult that's why we took the truck to the 'experts'. We got the truck back finally; we weren't happy or satisfied with the service and discussing this wouldn't have made any difference to anyone, our experience waiting for the truck proved that. Service in other departments might be less of a headache but the Service Department should be just as good or better than the sales. If possible, take your vehicle to another dealership, especially if you're in need of more than an oil change or scheduled maintenance. * To date we haven't received any follow up call, or request to take a survey from Toyota of Del Rio about our experience, which speaks volumes to their less than stellar service.

Johnathan let me know later in the day that the mechanic found metal pieces in the transmission pan and advised I was still under factory warranty until 60k miles. The service team went back and forth with Chrysler who I am sure did not want to cover the repair under warranty but after a week of reports and photos, they got Chrysler to cover a replacement transmission under warranty. My truck was returned to me fixed, detailed inside and out and was given a loaner car to use while this was all going on. Excellent service and I will be a customer as long as I live in Del Rio.

Took my car for oil change and tire rotation. Took the car home and noticed vibration on steering…read morewheel. Thought nothing of it thinking the rear tires to the front was breaking in. Drove to work and same thing happened. Took it home and discovered the right front tire lug nuts were started by hand without being torqued down. Could have lost a wheel and possibly getting injured/killed. God only knows what other type if thus type of maintenance hoes unnoticed; beware.

Nevertheless, I left my car there and walked to the nearby Walmart where I was lucky to find a friend that could take me home. Furthermore, it took two hours until they called me back even though they said it would only take one - not that I'm surprised about that lie. To top it off, after I picked my car up, I noticed that they left the steering wheel was not aligned properly which told me they did not care to do a good job. Ultimately, I will never plan to purchase a car at this dealership ever.
