The last time I flew Cebu Pacific was when I took a vacation to Boracay Island, Philippines. The plane we flew in was a small puddle jumper.
This time around, Cebu Pacific upgraded almost all their fleets to Airbus 320 which my experience was night and day, better! I was told most of their new fleets are about five years old.
Their service have greatly improved. Our flight was delayed, but we managed to land to Manila only 10 minutes behind schedule. Since it was only an hour and a half flight from Cebu, I didn't bother buying meals online in advanced or on board. Instead, I purchased food at the airport and munch them during our flight.
If you've never flown Cebu Pacific, here's a quick tip:
1. Book online! Trust me, it's so easy and a better experience. Also, keep in mind everything in Cebu Pacific is "A La Carte."
2. Buy your luggage check-in and meals (optional) in advanced online because you will save money and time at the airport.
3. If you want to save a little money, don't pay to select your seats online. That is an added fee. Instead, have the staff at airport select your seats. Savings is somewhere around $20 per ticket which could be less, could be more depending on your destination.
4. Finally, download their app because it will give you real time information of any delays or especially, gate changes
5. If you're traveling domestic via Philippines, get to the airport early at least 2.5 hours ahead. Traffic is unpredictable.
6. "VERY IMPORTANT!" Once you get to the airport, ask the officers outside and let them know your departure time because there are several door entry for security check. Some lines are shorter, and those lines are usually the line you want to be in especially if you are running behind schedule and need to get to your gate fast.
I would also suggest downloading "Trip Case." It works seamlessly with most airlines and airports and has real-time notifications. I used it all the time when I traveled for work weekly, and used it in my last trip from SFO to Cebu/Manila.
BTW, if you're a big fan of Cinnabon like me, they have them at Cebu and Manila airports both domestic and international.
