I have never received worse service for alterations. If you need a shirt pressed CD One is your place but anything more complicated than that and the whole thing falls to pieces, with no accountability. I brought in a suit jacket with two holes in the outside seam to be repaired. My wife picked up the dry cleaning with out checking and we realized at home that the seams were not mended. This was actually the third time this happened. So I was in disbelief. My wife brought the suit jacket back in for them to repair it. A day later we get a call saying the repair was already made. A tear on the inside lining of suit jacket was mended so it would be additional to repair the seam on the outside. First of all no one said to mend the lining. Secondly if that was the case that should have been agreed upon when dropping off and accepting payment. The person on the phone was rude. Then when I went in to dispute the matter, the lady at the counter was rude. I asked her to point out what was fixed and she said, "I don't know you have to talk to the seamstress" I finally spoke to a manager and he stood his ground insisting that they did a good job. I will let you be the final judge. But as for me I know where not to go for alterations or minor repairs. read more

My white shirt has come back torn in spite of my letting them know that my clothing has never been laundered at home or sent to any other dry cleaner. The quality of service provided by CD One Price Cleaners is substantially poor. Management is very inconsiderate for the damage caused to your clothes. I only take dry clean items here due to the significant damage caused. I also only go here because of the location. I can assure this is my last attempt. I have double creases in my suit pants, I have buttons missing on tailored shirts, I also have shirt collars missing on all dress shirts. I've made countless suggestions and no matter how kind I am to their employees, it's not reciprocated and it's always a challenge to communicate your problems with their staff. The feathers inside were packed into a little balls I had to put to the dryer! If I had known it would look like this, I would have washed it myself in the washing machine. read more

Usually they do a good job. Unfortunately they ripped a fairly new shirt (4th time its been laundered) and gave me a $10 credit off further business and still charged me the $2.19 + tax for washing it. I've been using CD One Price Cleaners for many years and at various locations around Chicagoland. The price compared to the competition is very favorable and the turnaround time for dry cleaning and wash & press services is excellent. This location is as good as, if not better, than all the others. Their customer service is good as well. The core reason I'm leaving this review is that I was surprised by the overall 3 out of 5 stars rating. After reading the negative reviews, I feel they are based on unfair expectations of this offering. Their business model is based on volume not small business, boutique services. So if you need special attention for a garment or want the Apple store experience, you should look elsewhere. If you want what I believe 80-90% of us want (reasonable prices, good service, good turnaround & good results) this is your spot. Short of taking your wedding dress in for special attention & cleaning, I think this spot is appropriate for most of the cleaning needs we all have. read more

The low overall rating (2.5 stars at time of this review) speaks for itself. I suspect this rating is inflated due to the fact that Yelp forces you to give at least one star. I tried to give this place another chance after having a bad experience with them months ago that was the last straw for me after months of subpar service (used to be a regular). Their employees, however, closed down the store early and wouldn't let me in during their stated operating hours. On my way back to my car I passed one of the employees heading to her car (still within operating hours). I asked her "don't you close at 7?" She laughed and said "yeah!" I glanced down at my watch, which still displayed a few minutes to 7. I thanked her and left. I will never return if I can help it - there are several other dry cleaners around here that provide better and more prompt service, display more professionalism, and who don't lie about their hours to boot. Pretty good, and cheap. Though know that it is cash only, and you have to pre-pay. They do have an ATM in there though. They are in by 10AM and out by 5PM the same day. They do have weird restrictions that I can't quite figure out. One is that they don't do "household." I don't know what that means, and the guy acted like it was self-evident. The example he gave was boxers, but when he figured out they were shorts that was ok. He wasn't looking at the quality of fabric or anything, just what the name of the article of clothing is. Another rule I found was when they looked at a silk skirt of my wife's. It had some snags, and the guy said that the snags could get bigger and they wouldn't be responsible. I said that was fine, because if it's not clean it won't get worn and might as well be in the trash. But despite my insistence they wouldn't take it. So it's still dirty and I have to find another cleaner. Other than that everything was fine. I'll probably use them again. read more

I've used CD One Price Cleaners exclusively for my dry cleaning needs, mostly the location in Downers Grove. I tried this location out as I just moved to Oak Park and that was a mistake. The shirt I got back looked nothing like the shirt I brought in. It looks like someone was cutting it with a box knife. When I went back to complain, I had to wait for a call from the owner. The owner called later that day and blamed it on me, saying he reviewed the security tapes and saw the snags on the shirt when I brought it in (real good security tapes I guess). When I asked to see the tapes, he scoffed and said I wasn't allowed. They took no responsibility for ruining a $50 shirt I'd only worn once previously, but "generously" gave me a credit for the dry cleaning cost of $1.99. Needless to say I won't be returning to this location as they clearly don't care about the quality of their work. read more

I would give it less stars if that was an option. I went to the location in Lombard and liked that seeivce so we thought the location closer to home would be comparable. They have ruined (physically destroyed or dyed) clothes four consecutive times. They claim it arrives that way but shirts were brand new and has stains, rips, or other issues. Turned a baptism outfit from white to blue and then claimed that was the color of the outfit. If you ask for creases you won't get creases. If you ask for no creases, surprise! Your pants now have creases for their flat front! Terrible customer service and they won't offer you much compensation if any for the damages they make. Time to find a new cleaner. Go somewhere else and I promise it will be the best decision you make. read more

They also advertise that they have same day service if you drop off by 10am. That isn't true anymore even though they still have it all over their windows and signs. CD-One cleaners Oak Park is unfortunately run by an awful co-manager and they treat people like garbage it just depends on the day if you will treated like a human being. One manager in particular ( Nataly ) is by far the worst human being anyone can deal with on a business level, condescending, brash, shallow, and apparently entitled. It's a shame because the owner Tim is a good dude, but your management choices being the people who represent you are questionable at best, they have failed on so many levels. I wish I could give this place a 2.5. I'd do that because for the majority of clothes I drop off there--my husband's dress pants and collared shirts, as well as my own silk tops--end up just fine. They come back pressed and clean and so for the price, and the quick turnover, I can't beat it. However, I've had numerous shirts that I have dropped some food on that leaves some slight markings. Each time I have a shirt that has markings resembling "stains" they come back with the stains still clearly visible and a tag from the cleaners saying that the garment cannot be further processed without possibly damaging the material. However, each of these tops I have then taken to another dry cleaner in Oak Park, who carefully examined the spots, and were able to remove them. Bottom line: This place is fine for everyday clothes which have no stains, but not somewhere to expect miracles from. read more

He did not rush me and did not appear irritated with my arrival being so close to closing time.The coat I dropped off was ready before the scheduled pick up time. My shirts were returned with brown stains and the store does not accept responsibility. Im convinced that management denies all damaged clothing that is reported to them if they deny responsibility on what clearly are brown stains their machines pads also have. They state that their machines did not cause them... However the point was thay they are responsible for my shirts while they have possession of them and when they are returned stained it is not my concern how they got stained and their responsibility to make it right by either clearing the stains from my shirts (Which they were not able to) so reimbursement would be the right thing to do. I read reviews from other customers that had stained clothing returned to them and management informs them the same thing they informed me.. " We will have them analyzed by an outside company" to see if the stains came from our facility. However i guarantee you that if your clothing is returned stained CD cleaners will deny responsibility. read more

I "WAS" a regular cutomer until a couple of weeks ago. I had been bring my clothes in to be dry cleaned for a few months at this point. Upon getting home and putting away the clothes I noticed that one of my nicer dress shirts had a crease in the sleeve ( in a spot there should be no crease) and a big rip. The next day I brought it back to show the manager and he stated that this rip did not happen there. After a half hour of asking him if the crease was done there he continued to deny that the damage occured there. This has happened to a few of my friends and needless to say we have not been back!!!! read more

This place is definitely cheap but they should not be called One Price CLEANERS, should be One Price PRESSING because they can never get out even the simplest stains. I bought 2 new dress shirts from Nordstrom 6 months ago and had them "cleaned" multiple times as this store - well, the last time they came back there was a red stain all around the collar area. They took the shirts and had them "analyzed" and said it was some kind of lotion or after shave I was wearing that reacted with the shirts. I call BS on that because #1, I do NOT wear or use any facial lotion or aftershave and they had cleaned the shirts multiple times with no issues. They screwed up or used some chemical so I now have to see Tim the manager and try and get a refund for the costs of the shirts which were about $80 each. Yes they are cheap but they don't clean anything and they will ruin clothes and not take responsibility - better to pay a bit more and use a REAL cleaners. read more

Nothing too special about this place, they do get the job done. I've only brought shirts, pants and coats which were all reasonably priced. One thing that bothers me is they only accept cash. Nowadays I mostly pay everything with my debit card. I almost always end up leaving CD One immediately upon arrival because I realize I did not bring cash with me. I started coming here because the previous dry cleaners close to my house would STAPLE tickets to some of my clothes! I told them to not do that because they are putting holes in my clothes. They said they had to do it so I had to stop giving them my service.....Not only is this place cheap, the workers are friendly too. They let you know if they cannot dry clean any of the clothes you bring in or if it may be damaged with dry cleaning.
