I had 4 items dry cleaned and only 2 came out okay. One was a black wool baseball jacket from Saks and it came back like it's been washed with some heavy chemicals. The fabric is not the same anymore and buttons are all scratched. This was my first time having it cleaned. Second item was a sport coat with Zegna wool from Saks. It came back with what looked like the start of a hole. This was maybe only my second time having it dry cleaned and it looked like I've had it for many years after this. I would not recommend this place and I would check how they dry clean their garments. I went with this place based on all the positive reviews and was very disappointed. read more

I literally love them. The owners are so sweet and we need to protect them at all costs!!! I've only stopped by a few times (and will continue to) but they already recognize me by face (and probably by the white coats I always bring in.) Last year I started going to this neighborhood dry cleaners. Their service is top-notch. Run by an older Asian husband and wife, so kind, super friendly, and always smiling. They seem to be hardworking folks, as they constantly have customers going in and out of their shop. The lady goes out of her way to make sure my clothes are cleaned to perfection, no matter how challenging the fabric with lots of hand embroidered or custom printing on them. She pays personal attention to inspect all the parts of my clothes and used a creative sequence of steps to get rid of a stain on a special dress I wore to a wedding. They also called with excitement to tell me the dress was all clean and ready to be picked up! They also do quality alterations, which is not cheap, but it's a very convenient service. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the service at this dry cleaners. The owners truly care about their customers and it shows in the quality of their work and interactions with all customers. I was really impressed with the cleaning job here. I brought in a cashmere sweater as a last ditch effort to save it, I had stained it badly and thought it was ruined. The woman at the desk didn't make any promises but when I came for pickup I was pleasantly surprised that my sweater came back good as new! The owners showed me incredible kindness and superior service when they went out of their way to expedite my cleaning for a family funeral. I was a first time customer and usually use a cleaner closer to my home but they don't offer same day service and I was in a pinch. I drove up to lake street to go to another cleaners i found on yelp but parking was nowhere to be found. I drove around the block trying to find street parking and saw the parking lot in front of Supreme Cleaners, checked the many positive reviews and decided to give them a try. Yeah, they're real friendly . . .then they ruin all your clothing Took several pair of women's pants for hemming. Brand new pants. Instead of putting regular hems in them they folded the bottoms over and did a large row of machine stitching on the OUTSIDE like you might do jeans. I also specifically asked them NOT to press the pants (which did not need cleaning because they still had tags on/new) AND I ALSO ADDED "no creases" to be sure they stayed out of the pressing machines. They stuck the pants which are polyester and lycra into a SCALDING HOT pressing machine resulting in intense SCORCHING around all the seams and on the permanently fused-in front creases I specifically said I did not want. The machine was so hot the fabric was literally melted around the seams -- shiny, flattened out and hard white edges around the seams and front creases. I have since taken them to three other dry cleaners and they all told me once the fabric is scorched like that nothing can fix it. It's synthetic, it melts! I'm going to try washing them but the hard white lines down the creases and around all the seams look like the color is gone, so . . . . . I won't get into the grease spots on all my grey flannel from their dry cleaning drum obviously leaking oil or the horrible odor of the fluid they use. I also took a Giorgio Armani Collection suit jacket which was $1,000 when I bought it several years ago and they also scorched the whole thing, flattening the pocket trim and seams -- they did not press a fake seam into the lapel only because the lapels laid flat unfolded in the machine. Otherwise they would have no doubt done that too. I noticed when I took the stuff in that the owners were too lazy to bend over and put pins in the hems of the pants for tailoring -- they just stuck one pin in the front of one cuff then told me not to try on the others! I only left them because they were inexpensive slacks. I haven't even tried them on since where am I going with machine sewn hems in my slacks? When I was picking up a guy came in with a pair of jeans they had taken in for him saying, and I quote "I can't even get these on they are so tight." They slip into "no English" mode real fast too, just fyi, so they will stand their repeating everything you say back to you WRONG or saying a lot of things which are completely senseless. And I blame the customers for not even knowing any better. read more

My family has been going here since we moved to Oak Park 2 years ago. At the end of October, we took our winter coats here to be cleaned before the weather got cold. We picked them up and put them in the coat closet. Due to the warm weather, we did not need to wear a winter coat until the very end of December. Upon pulling the coats out of the bags, we noticed that the coats did not appear to be cleaned at all. There was pilling on the coats still .. debris in the pockets .. and just did not look or smell as if anything at all had been done. It literally looks like they just took the coats from us, hung them up, and put the plastic sleeve over them. So we went back to see if they could actually clean our coats for real this time. Nope. They say it had been too long since we brought them in... Like my goal in life is to rip off a dry cleaner for $20. Despite the fact that it was in the 50s through December. Great business decision Supreme Cleaners .. you don't make it right for me .. so save the $5 or whatever it costs you to clean a coat. Meanwhile we will no longer ever use your services, so your giving up potentially 20 years of our business. You're walking over dollars to pick up pennies. A good business decision indeed! read more

I have been a regular customer at Supreme for the last 2 years and have nothing but great things to say about them. Owned by a very friendly married couple, I use them for dry cleaning my dress shirts and for occasional tailoring and have been very satisfied. In two years they've only lost one of my shirts and they were sincerely apologetic and reimbursed me in full for it. I also appreciate that they are right next to the Oak Park stop on the green line, which makes drop off and pick up easy for us el commuters. I had just purchased a dress from the store and wanted to wear it the following day but it needed pressed so I googled the nearest cleaners to me and this place popped up a few blocks away. So I drove up and explained that I needed the dress the same day and without any questions the little lady at the front counter said sure come back around 4 o'clock. I have been meaning to write a review of this establishment since late February when I stuck the receipt in my wallet which is considered my reminder to immortalize an experience on Yelp. I took in three pairs of jeans to be altered here since there is only so much of my pants that I can stand dragging on the sidewalk everyday (ever notice how some unidentified force in the universe has tagged on an additional two inches on to every pair of pants in the world, and yet has not account for it in the measurements?). In my past experiences getting jeans tailored I have had places that will save the cuff and re-attach it so the bottom part looks as weathered as the rest of the jean (since that is the look nowadays). The lady here strongly discouraged me from doing this, quoting me some outrageous price per leg to do it. Fine, whatever... -1 star. I tell them specifically the amount in inches that I want off of each pair of jeans, and then they proceed to measure the inseam. Not necessary... I don't care what the inseam measurement is, I want a certain amount off. -1 star. They tell me when the jeans will be ready. We stop by the day they told us to pick them up and the Jeans are not ready (no call either). -1 star. When I finally do pick up the jeans I discover they did not alter one of the pairs of jeans because it matched the inseam length of the other pairs. I didn't request that, I wanted them to take an inch off damnit. -1 star. I don't live in Oak Park so I wouldn't need to have anything altered in that area anymore, but I definitely wouldn't go back to Supreme Cleaners if I did. read more

Supreme Cleaners has been taking care my dry cleaning needs for nearly a decade with nary a button lost nor a crease unpressed! The business is run by an industrious married couple. The friendly proprietress always greets you with a chirpy "telephone number" in her lilting Korean accent. She speedily looks up your account - then, your perfectly cleaned & pressed clothes are presented to you. If you're a regular, she'll give you discounts and the occasional token holiday gift. Her husband, who usually works behind the scenes, is relatively quiet - but, he always smiles warmly and waves a friendly hello. If a hem is loose or a button dangling, she'll point it out to you & suggest an inexpensive repair. She'll never bat an eyelash at your cat hair covered suits or partied out dresses - so, don't be shy about dumping your rumpled heap of threadbare unmentionables & discolored frumpsterwear right out onto the counter! She'll quickly scoop them up into a laundry bag to be freshened & fixed at their onsite factory. By the way, if you're rude or otherwise self-important, she'll probably just say "next week" and give you the stink-eye, but your clothes will still end up looking great! Even when the owner's mother passed away (obviously a rare event), her kids and additional family members came in to help and get everything done so they could close a few extra days.
