My family and I just moved here a few months back from San Diego, CA. The kids here are the most…read moreill mannered and disrespectful kids I have ever met or seen in my life. They are constantly calling each other Nig****, Bit****, Ho**, etc. I have called the school and tried to do something about it and the school has shown they do not care. The kids are not supervised on the bus, they do not listen and yet the school still doesn't require parents at the bus stop. These are kindergarteners and up yelling racial slurs constantly telling people to f*** off and saying things like "f*** you you mother f*****". They play foul music constantly. No supervision, no manners and no one seems to care. My daughter will not be going here much longer and I will be doing everything it takes for things to change even once she stops going there. Plain disgusting and everyone should be ashamed.

Depending on the subject the tests and homework will vary on the hardness scale, some are very difficult others are easier. It has taught me so much more then a regular school ever could . At a public school there isnt that much homework, there are a largeee amount of kids in every one of your classes, and the teachers skip over important things that you could be learning at ais for those exact reasons . They haven't the time nor patience and some are very disrespectful to you , yes they are the teacher but they dont need to treat you poorly.. At ais you can have an online campus where the teachers help you personally there or you can get tutoring at the actual campus and everyone is very kind. Not one of them judge you no matter what it makes me feel really happy and lucky i was able to attend their school.

It's quite a change in his academic progress and his enthusiasm for school. He says Yayy every morning when I tell him what day it is, and that's school day. He started reading when he was four and a half. I don't have to ask him twice when it's reading time at home. Somehow Challenger got him to feel like he is having fun when he reads or works on the worksheets. He is able to explain to me errors he makes on his worksheets at school, and able to show me corrections. I am happy with his academic growth at this school. I like that the school entrance is locked at all time. You can't get to the front desk before you get approved to pass through the locked entrance There were couple times I had issues with admin. At first, I didn't know the school required uniform shirt and pants. I only ordered my son uniform shirts and went to buy him pants from a clothing store. One day he came home in someone else's pants with no note to explain why his pants were changed. When I called, that was when I was informed about the mandatory uniform. I was upset at how they made him change into different pants at school, and how they didn't have the courtesy to call me to work out the uniform issue. Another time was when I received a past due notice, and a warning of my son's school termination if the past due was not taken care of by so and so date. I was not made aware of the due. When I called the school to take care of the amount, I was told that it was from the one day that we picked him up late. Ms Brenda always calls me back in timely manner. For how happy my son is at this school, I can look past all the admin issues I have had.

The staff has always gone above and beyond to make sure their students are succeeding and that I am a partner in my child's education. The administration is willing to listen and involves the teachers in the meetings between parents so everyone is on the same page regarding the student. Emails and Facebook/instagram posts are used to communicate regularly with the community and there is a lot of involvement at family activities. Walker has recently become a STEAM designated school and there are many clubs available to the students- Lego Club, Garden Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, Media Club, Robotics, etc. I will miss this school very much!

It takes an additional 10+ mins to get out of the spot. They don't take into consideration to the hectic driving and pedestrian crossing the streets on school zones. I called into the office twice about the parking one lady came out the first time, second time they said call the police. To be honest I believe they should budget a parking personnel for both sides of the campus. They have school dress code and I have gotten one warning for my son wearing black Kakhi pants, when on the website they display a child is wearing green Kakhi. My child was wearing a blue shirt, again I thought twice about but saw a few other children wearing these colors and again the website showed a couple of children wearing the same blue shirt and still got a warning for it. They have colors in the office however it is quite hidden from view.

They make you feel like part of a community or family. Like your children are in safe, capable hands and learning to be their best selves. I've got two children going there and couldn't be happier with their progress. Thank you to everyone for making it such a pleasure.
