cCare San Marcos evidently has a flawed patient appointment management system. The staff there are all very friendly but they don't keep track of how long their patients wait to see their doctor after they have checked in. This is not a complaint about the wait. After all, these doctors are cancer specialists. I have no expectation to hold them to a clock when they could be delivering some pretty tough news to another patient who rightfully can be asking one question after another. Those patients and their doctors should have every opportunity to converse, without a ticking clock. But here's the problem. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes before its scheduled start. After an hour of waiting, I had to leave for another scheduled appointment elsewhere. Had I known at check-in the doctor was running late, I might have been able to reschedule the other following appointment. As it turned out, I just had to leave, which I did after telling the waiting room receptionist. She was apologetic, as was the doctor's nurse who called my cell phone as I was driving away. But this is a system failure, not a medical misdiagnosis. The cCare office needs scheduling software that alerts them if a patient has been waiting for 15 minutes beyond their scheduled appointment. So alerted, they can tell the waiting patient the situation and give them the opportunity to make a decision to either wait or reschedule. The nurse who called me said she would email me dates to reschedule. I write this four hours after leaving and have yet to see that email. Maybe I am being too kind in blaming the cCare system. You will be in such good hands here. The facility is very clean and calm, and the staff is wonderful. Marianne, Karen and Diana will make you feel like family. They really do care for their patients, and do all they can to make you feel comfortable. When you are dealing with either a blood disorder or bad skin cells. I don't think I can recommend this place for your care. Many dermatologists need to be aware of how this office is run before referring their patients here. The Dr. my friend went to here many many years ago for her cancer treatment and care and the Dr my Dermatologist would have wanted me to see is no longer at this practice. After a plethora of attempts to call this office where no one actually answers the phone at the front desk and or if you ever reach a voicemail option. No one I mean NO one calls you back to schedule an appointment. The only way I got help was to physically drive to their office. I drove to Encinitas only to be told I couldn't make a new patient appointment with them. It had to be done at the San Marcos location. What? So she messaged the new patient coordinator internally in order to help get the ball rolling for my care. We both waited for her to call me...Eventually I just walked to my car and finally someone called me. I also was put on hold 10-19 minutes during that call. Finally I got my foot in the door appointment... scheduled with Dr. Eisenberg at the San Marcos office. I need early evening appointments and well locals know how SM traffic can be. My appointment went well enough. Right from the get go upon arrival...I did have concerns on how run down this office was! Every chair in the waiting room and office was tore up. I felt nervous that if that's how they take pride in their things how is my care going to be!?! Eisenberg read loudly into his laptop my reports on why I was needing an oncologist and my medical information (he had his dictation recording on for his notes) He was sympathetic towards my Fibromyalgia and current medical needs. He agreed to a Full Body PET scan after a bit of resistance at first. Claiming to be more conservative in care. But that's a lab I was being referred to oncology for. So basically everything felt forced to me having to be way over proactive towards my care and particular medical needs. It was unclear where scans were to be done (they have scans there) and I was referred to IHS & Unbeknownst to me the wrong PET scan code was put in. After many calls to his office with the same problems of no one answering of the phone. I attempted the PA line as well. No help and no change or rectification to the wrong lab order was ever made. In the meantime I got a transfer of care to a new office closer to me and a place where they actually answered the phone, called you back, and put in the correct lab order for the scan. Both that office and myself called to inform them of my transfer of care. Yet I got a call that I missed an appointment? Okay now CCare calls me??? What happened to the informative calls/voicemails left here informing them of my change of care? Oh yeah I didn't drive physically to the office in order to be acknowledged... :-( I'm not sure how this office even gets patients otherwise. The doctors might be okay here but it's NOT run well enough for people going through scary things! I'm sure Dr. Eisenberg will understand and would be happy my commute to care is easier. read more

My appointment for a PET Scan was scheduled for 10:45AM - I arrived early and was informed that I was already checked in and to wait comfortably until someone came to greet me. The staff was SO pleasant and helpful! Everyone was kind and wearing a genuine smile. I was escorted to the back by Christopher who made me feel calm and comfortable. He was charming to talk to and knew EXACTLY how to make a new patient feel. He explained what was going to happen and suggested a restroom break before getting started. There was no discomfort and no uneasiness. I cannot think of even one thing that could have been done to make me feel more at ease. When the test was done, Christopher explained that I would be called within four business days with the results of the tests. Every other patient in the area appeared to be receiving the same comfortable care. Thanks to the entire staff! read more

I go in to get my shots. I have anxiety and when it comes to going to doctor it is very hard on me. I always look forward to going because Edith I believe she is a medical assistant always comforts me and is very attentive and caring . There is not a lot of people left that actually care. The office staff is totally incompetent and incredibly insensitive and lacking in any sort of compassion. This has been an ongoing problem with cCare for the last seven years. When I first found out I had breast cancer in 2017, they neglected to set up referrals in a timely fashion, neglected to call me about those referrals, and when I called a couple weeks later in a panic to find out what was going on, the woman I talked to tried to gaslight me by telling me was *had* talked about it and I just didn't remember. A number of other mistakes, all by the office staff, were constantly made and at one point we got so pissed off about it that we got one of the office managers to come in and talk with us at an appointment. She listened to what we had to say and was very empathetic, but then nothing changed. Nothing. I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with a woman who sounded new and then Jackie, who didn't sound new, where I had to explain to numerous times that I needed to cancel an appointment I had because it was to go over a referral of labs and imaging I now get done every 6 months, but I hadn't received the imaging referrals. She kept going back to me needing the labs, put me on hold 2-3 times to talk to Adam, came back one and told me I had to see Dr. Eisenberg first, then that I didn't, then again that I did, then finally that I didn't. Now I have to wait for the insurance to approve the referral, then for however long it takes for Valley Radiology to get me in for an appointment for the mammogram before I can even make another appointment to see Dr. Eisenberg. Who, by the way, is a fantastic oncologist, but who I have to go through seventy layers of red tape and crap to ever get at. In the process, I start having a panic attack because did you know that cancer treatment can cause C-PTSD? YEAH! ANY TRAUMA CAN! And guess where most of my cancer trauma came from? Not from the treatment, not from the hospital stays, not from the fear of death... but from the cold, dispassionate, unhelpful voices I hear constantly in the office when I just try to do something simple. At one point, my husband had to become my advocate, and he's a teacher that works 12-14 hours a day, so that was an incredibly complicated task. Today I mistakingly thought, "Hey, it's been several years, you can do this!" Apparently not. And there's more! I have to get blood labs for this, but for some reason starting in the last few years, they don't send them electronically to labCorp the same way my doctor does. For my PCP, she electronically sends the orders to labCorp, I walk onto labCorp, tell them my info, they pull me up and way we go! For cCare, I either have to call them around a week before, get the labs mailed to me in the US postal mail, OR I have to go to the lab, and while I'm there I have to call them and have them fax it to labCorp. This wasn't always the case, as during my treatment, and at the beginning of after care, it was already at labCorp when I got there. But somehow things changed. And when the process changes, no one tells you why. No one gives you any information at all and they dodge every question. SEVEN YEARS OF THIS, and I literally have no other recourse than to continue to get treated terribly at this place. Seriously, it should not take 20 minutes, a text, and a massive panic attack just to get a referral sorted out. Why did I have to repeat myself? Why did no one know what was going on? Why do I feel like I was lied to about getting to talk to Adam? Why is my primary care physician so much capable at sending out referrals and getting information to labCorp and Valley Radiology? Why? Why does this never change? This is my mortality we're talking about. Give a crap, god damn it. read more

Love Dr. McClay, the rest of the staff is useless. Too many negatives to go over but here are some of the major ones: 1. The staff let the grant on my meds run out twice, even after being reminded by myself and Dr McClay. I currently have been without meds for over a month yet I cannot get into see the Doc. 2. I had to start radiation treatment for skin cancer. Could not get I to see the Doc to find out how it would effect my prostate cancer. 3. Rarely got calls go test, scans that were done. Dealing with a cancer is hard enough with little support from Doctors staff. Dealing with two cancers makes it worse. I was lucky to find someone else for this cancer. They are the best team I have ever had taking care of me. A far cry from what I have had to endure with McClay's staff. Do yourself a favor, find someone else to handle your cancer, cCare is someplace to avoid. After reading other posts, I see I am not the only one that has issues with this place. read more

Horrible. My significant other has been waiting for nearly 3months for a infusion. Rosie is impossible to reach. We have left messages, and do not get calls back. It is not just her either, the front office staff is completely incompetent. They have no idea about what is being order even after orders are faxed, emailed and even brought in by hand. They pass the problem on to the next person and we start back over again. At this point it feels like malpractice. Even after another follow up with the referring Dr and orders sent and approved they have no idea whats going on. We currently still do not have an appt. Worst medical facility I have ever encountered. The office staff and medical assistants are horrible. You will hear nothing from anyone, so unless you want to have stress and make a million phone calls, stay away from this place. There is not a time that I call the office that I am on hold for anything less than 15 minutes. Then when I do get someone, they grill you and tell you they will take a message. Don't believe them. Unless you can actually talk to someone, a "message" means I'm too busy to help you. Doctor will order procedures and not even follow up with you regarding results or having someone schedule an appointment for you to come in and discuss. If you care about your health and sanity, go somewhere else. Trust me, if you have been referred to cCare San Marcos, you probably have enough stress. Don't let them break you down to tears. I have been a patient with the San Marcos office since 2019, originally I was set up with Dr. Kosmo and at that time I would have given this office 5 Stars all day every day, however since he left the practice the quality of care and the competency/compassion of the office staff has gone downhill drastically. Trying to get any follow up has been incredibly difficult and I as a patient have had to do the majority of the footwork, however the final straw was back in July of 2024. The VA had determined that any treatment/appointments/scans would be covered by the VA's Community Care Program due to my cancer being deemed as service connected. The community care office sent in an entire packet to CCare via fax, in addition I walked in the packet with the authorization number on 3 separate occasions. Not once was the VA billed or notified of my appointments, however my private insurance continued to be billed. I spoke with the billing department multiple times and nothing was resolved or updated, they even noted there was no record of the VA on my file. In July I was due for a scan, at that time I sat on a 3 way call with the VA and my Doctors Medical Assistant going over what paperwork needed to be submitted in order for the VA to approve my scan. Turns out again the VA never received pre-authorization the paperwork from CCare, so I am currently looking at a bill for 4900 dollars for a scan due to the office staffs inability to handle my account correctly and since it was not pre-authorized the VA is not going to cover the charge. I have called the San Marcos office multiple times asking to speak to the office manager, and continue to get told she is in a meeting and will have to call me back, which has never happened. I have cancelled my upcoming appointments and will no longer be a patient at this practice. read more

If you want an office that is unorganized, doesn't return your calls, can't follow up with your treatment, lacks compassion then CCCARE is for you. I'm dumbfounded as to how these people can work with Cancer patients. Mc Clay please clean house and properly TRAIN the front office, maybe have them take more courses on office etiquette and patient care! I hope to NEVER see your staff again. The staff takes time to answer my questions as I wrap my mind around my diagnosis and medical issues. The nurses and nurse practitioners are excellent. I've been treated so badly by CCARE this last year that I am seeking legal counsel. I have had the same problems as the other patients who have posted here on yelp. Not returning my calls when I was having side effects from treatment. Not returning calls for pharmacy requests for refills. Not responding to pharmacy request for prior authorization. Downright being rude to my pharmacy. Took me 2 months to get lidocaine cream that CCARE prescribed for me! My dermatologist, Amanda at DMG Oceanside, says her other cancer patients have had the same problems as me at CCARE. My Lymphedema specialist, Kathy, at Palomar rehabilitation says she herself has had problems with ccare. My primary care physician, Dr Molai at Graybill, her staff told me that their co-workers mother just passed away from cancer dealing with the same issues as myself at CCARE. My pharmacist has also had to deal with thee incompetency of CCARE. 4-15-19 I filed a complaint with my insurance and will also with the the medical board. So CCARE San Marcos Dr McClay thought he would call my primary care physician and have her reprimand me. But she was already aware of all the bs they put me through this last year. As well as the experience her employee dealt with. Dr McClay was more concerned with trying to COVER HIS REAR END than give my primary care doctor my PET scan results. And what he ultimately succeeded in doing by calling her, was making a fool of himself. I'll bring everyone to court with me. DMG, Palomar rehabilitation, Drugco pharmacy and Graybil. No patient, cancer or not, should have to go through this! I am a former office manager for an optometrist. And I will put an end to this. If its the last thing I accomplish in my lifetime. Think about this: the drug companies give ccare catered lunch kickbacks .... Everyday of the week. I'm curious what other kickbacks they receive. Do Not Go To CCARE for cancer treatment. They will make you just a miserable as their own doctor who sued them in Fresno. 0 stars isn't an option. read more

The more I come here, the more things seem to be going wrong and the less confident I am in Ccare's abilities to properly take care of their patients. Firstly, Dr McClay is an amazing oncologist. He is friendly, extremely knowledgable and gets down to your level to explain things and answer your questions. Nothing but praise for him. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about what happens behind the scenes. Some examples of what has transpired in the past: -At the start of my treatments, their online platform said I needed 24 chemos so I put it on my calendar counting down to the last one. All of a sudden on the 18th session I log in and see that the amount got bumped up to 26 without anyone telling me why. I panicked and contacted my oncologist. Apparently it was due to a "glitch" and turns out the online portal had always been wrong but no one ever contradicted that info either. Shameful. -A month after meeting my out of pocket, get a call the day of chemo from the billing department telling me I need to pay 4.5k for treatment that day or I can't get it. Had to push back a lot before they believed me. -Got referred to the Dermatology Institute downstairs from Ccare the day following a checkup. Upon arrival, there was no appointment, staff treated me with no decency whatsoever and sent me walking. Ended up in a nightmare situation that day. -Got a call once 15min before treatment, telling me that whoops they forgot to get my insurance to authorize treatment for that day. Instead of rectifying it, they tried to get me to cancel my appointment and move it while I was 5min away from the office in my car! I completely broke down crying upon arrival, needlessly stressed out because of their lack of capability. -Trying to get a hold of someone is neigh impossible. You will spend ages on hold, only to be connected to a voicemail and your call not being returned. -I get treatments every 2 weeks for a year, so I have arranged my life according to this schedule. Yet sometimes, planning just randomly changes dates around without even consulting me. So then I have to chase people around again to change it back to normal. Again, needless stress. -Just today the NP was supposed to check in with me during my treatment. I asked my nurse to go look for her twice while I was there, but she did not even come out to see me. I did see her attend other patients. No excuse or apology. Seriously?! -Etc. As if going through cancer isn't hard enough already, I am finding myself less confident and at ease at Ccare. I don't trust what happens in back-office anymore, as communication is hard to come across. I can't wait for my treatments to be over so I can stop stressing out about whether or not they are all doing their jobs behind the scenes. Cancer already makes you feel powerless, and for Ccare to constantly further destabilize my life has taken a heavy emotional toll. My husband let me know that the doctors and nurses in the back rooms were very kind and very professional. I have read most of their reviews and none of them sound very good. I used to go to the one in Escondido last year and always had good care. Last Friday was my first time in the new building with Dr kosmo and had no problem. He was very considerate answered my questions explained everything to me he did say he was going to have meetings with his staff so they would stay on top of everything. The front desk staff of this office is incompetent and absolutely unprofessional, hold times frequently exceed 10-15 minutes just to talk to someone before they even give you the runaround. The Dr has too many patients and is too busy- took just short of a week to only SEND the appropriate referral to health insurance to request needed treatment alter diagnosis. Office can't properly refill pain RX for patients in excruciating pain, sent several emails and 4+ calls actually speaking with the office staff- they still did not send the refill to pharmacy, just kept saying the Dr is with other patients. Apparently if you are not in the office you all not a patient to them and no one cares. Need blood work? They don't do that- they send you to a different clinic that only has appointments 3 weeks out. There is no urgency to the treatment, there is no compassion, but hey, they have fancy furniture and decor in the office And a nice view! read more

This review is for Dr. Frakes, Courtney, and the Nurses. Dr. Frakes knows her stuff!! She literally saved my life after I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at the age of 37. I was never a smoker.. I had cancer 10 years ago that cake back in my lung. Courtney is her PA and she's AWESOME!!! She's so on top of what's going on and makes sure your treatment is going ok. I had some issues come up during treatment but Courtney quickly caught it and treated it. For nurses, I mostly had Dan and Carrie. They are both so nice and gentle accessing ports. So glad I was referred to Dr. Frakes and her staff!!! I can't thank you all enough!!! read more

I found and omission in my medical record - of a positive scan(Feb 2014) that was never documented in notes by my oncologist (Dr Eisenberg) as of Sept 3rd 2014 he hid these results from me.. In July I had another scan (requested by me) !!! showed positive nodes. By July they were bigger and brighter. In JULY he finally called me to get treated because the radiologist called him to discuss which node to biopsy. after canceling my July appointment (the doctor cancelled it) the Dr never told me that I had a positive scan in February He made me wait until August to get and appointment. Therefore no interval review was ever done on the February to July scans for interval change The medical record in August had no mention of previous February scan. I found out by accident when I got a copy of my medical record for a second opinion. When I asked him about why he never informed me of my February scan results,during March, April, May, June, July, or August - he blamed me and told me it was my responsibility to get the results The nurse practitioner stood by in the room and told me the standard of care was that I was responsible to get my results. If I never came in they never had to call me. Perfectly acceptable done all the time and applied to all of their patients This business is now called cCARE and the CEO is Troy Simon Unprofessional and actually life threatening care. It is so hard to get anything done here that I need for my care and the unlicensed medical assistants that are handing my requests and won't let me speak to my doctor It is so difficult to get appointments. This has been such a stressful place to try to get care. After all this I got a copy of his note from my last visit and even though I asked many medical questions about his plan of care for me there was nothing medical in the note at all just reiterated how "non compliant" I am . All this because he just missed a scan and could have just said he was sorry. My review is regarding the staff - not doctors plus I have applied for two jobs here - not even the decency of a response. The fact that I am not latino is obviously a problem and I have no doubt that the Recruitment head in HR is also Latino. Phones don't get answered, hold time is interminable, NO ONE gets back to you and the doctor never gets my messages. I was given a print out of my current medications to confirm and noticed medication for an STD - I have never had any STD. When I demanded to know why this totally incorrect information was on my chart I received an "oh". Useless, unprofessional and beyond me how 3/4 of them are employed. 9" nails, false eyelashes, wheel-rim size earings, hair hanging all over the place and not tied up neatly - again, totally unprofessional and unhygienic. Disturbing that a medical facility of this proportion is sadly so terribly incompetent because of the lower echelon of staff. It's life affirming to find Dr. Kosmo, quite by accident. My primary care physician sent me to Dr. Kosmo for some specialized attention for some health problems I am having. Not only did Dr. Kosmo answer my concerns he shared with me what he was going to be looking for and he gave me confidence to not worry about medical conditions that I had been worrying about. I am not unrealistic about health concerns at my age. I am however, very grateful for Dr. Kosmo's expertise and his generosity when it comes to making a patient feel cared for. Staff at this location could never get our schedule straight and have asked numerous times for my mom's record to be faxed to her primary care doctor - I have had to get a copy myself and give it to him. Doctor spends about 5 minutes to talk but doesn't really explain things. My first time visit, there were 4 ladies standing around talking about their highlights as I stood there and no one even asked if I can be helped. I wish I would have read the reviews before I became a patient here. What you read from people's experiences on here is absolutely true. And yes, Maryanne is the worst. Every time I call, which is twice a year for my scans, I leave a message and NEVER receive a call back. The only way I was able to speak with Maryanne was to call a different department and tell them what was going on. She also left me on hold for a hour one time because she said she had to talk to the doctor, and then forgot about me. I called back after an hour and the office was closed, so I left a message and ... never heard back. YOU DON'T DO THAT TO SOMEONE WHO HAS CANCER. I'm looking for a professional office where they care about the patients, and this is not it. Seems like common sense to me. I have spoken with the office manager previously about it and it just gets worse. Recently, I had an issue with my scan, and I needed a different scan. As in previous instances, it took forever and I had to almost miss my appointment. So I showed up for the second scan, and they said it was the same type of scan as before and it would be worthless to do the scan without contrast. I explained to them I can't do contrast, and they told me it was a worthless test without contrast. They called Ccare and CCare said do it without contrast. So not only did they put in the wrong order, they want me to find out if my cancer has come back through a test that costs a lot of money but won't show anything. Dr. Kosmo is a FANTASTIC doctor, one of the best I've had, and the lab ladies are amazing, but the incompetence and lack of care WHEN DEALING WITH CANCER PATIENTS makes this office the worst one I've been to since I was initially misdiagnosed. It shouldn't be this difficult to find out if my cancer has come back. Do your research before you put your faith in this office. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. UPDATE: The office staff let me know when I canceled my appointment that they went out of their way to get everything right for me, and pointed fingers at Valley Radiology where they sent me for being the problem, then continued to yell at me and say no one called her even though I was standing in front of the people at the radiology office as they called Ccare. So not only do I not know if my cancer has returned, but according to the Ccare staff, it's all my fault. Cancer patients, beware. Read the other reviews and you'll see some glaring similarities. If Dr. Kosmo ever switches practices, I will go back to him. read more

My Doctor Laurie Frakes and her assistant Daisy are amazing! The entire staff is great and are always friendly. They even have a sign in the lobby that says if it is 10 minutes pass your appointment time to let them know. Pretty rare in a medical facility. Everyone gets behind in the medical field at times. With that said i did have to take charge of my care and be very proactive. The staff is not perfect so i made sure i called to follow up on scheduling if i did not hear back especially if close to a weekend. I made myself a nice pest because it was difficult to get all the appointments done prior to my first chemo. It can be frustrating and someone has to be an advocate in the process and it needs to be family or yourself or the ball can be dropped read more

I've been going to C Care for years now and not that I have much of a choice. They seem to have cornered the market here in San Diego. Their Doctors and even the staff that you can see are nice enough when your in the office. Well except when they tell you you would be better off with this other treatment and ask you to call your insurance company to pressure them into paying for (I have to assume) their more expensive treatment. Also working to resolve and issue, as example making an appointment can be very time consuming and frustrating. I have to assume the problem is with corporate (San Fransisco) they don't allow each office to have their own office manager. Their seems to be one office manager (Jackie) for all the offices in San Diego and forget about getting in touch with her because nobody ever knows which office she's at, no matter what office you call.The end result is Kaos that the patient is forced to have to deal with. The positive thing about C Care is that it doesn't matter which Doctor you see since they all work for this huge corporate giant and I have to assume must treat each patient as dictated by the CEO or board of directors. It makes sense when you consider that corporations are their to protect their profits and protect themselves from lawsuits. Hence forth the term "corporate doctors". I continue to go there, first I can not find a oncologist that doesn't work for them and I know exactly what treatments I need and when. So I don't have to put my health in the hands of a corporation that doesn't have me the patient as the first and only priority! read more

Maryanne (Nurse) & Dr. Kosmo were fantastic and always there for us when my wife (Fariel) was going through stage 4 breast cancer. She is a 18 month survivor and Maryanne helped her achieve all her scheduling appointments and was very attentive. Would highly recommend Ccare read more

Zero Stars. I've never post a negative review before, but I was so compelled to warn people about this place because the majority of patients that will consider cCare are cancer patients who are fighting for thier life. If you are fighting for your life, this is NOT the place you want to be. The employees who work at this Doctor's office are awful. They do not follow up, they do not return phone calls, they are NOT helpful, they act like you are putting THEM out, they are rude, they do not work on your case unless you call and bug them, and they make excuses. There is not enough space to tell you the laundry list of issues I have had. So I will share this; during my course of treatment at cCare I have waited 7 days for a return phone call, never got it. I then called to follow up (about not hearing back) I spoke to a rude lady who in the course of one 2 minute phone call lied to me, tried to refer me to another Doctor and basically just wanted to get me off of her phone. It wasn't until I got upset that she did anything to help me. She then accomplished in 10 minutes what she originally told me she couldn't do. After that I waited 10 days for a follow up call that I was promised...never got it. After waiting patiently for 10 days to hear back about an RX Insurance Authorization (takes 24-48 hours), I had to call. When I did, I insisted on talking to a manager. I was told by the "unit manager" they "dropped the ball" and never submitted it in the first place. All of this while I lay in pain and can't sleep. My Radiology Oncologist even told me that SHE couldn't even get a hold of my cCare doctor through the staff, and had to call him directly on his personal line. SO SO SO BAD. This was my second chemo infusion center after being seen, or shall I say neglected my oncologist at UCI (Uni Cal Irvine) where I expected better. I ended up hospitalized with no immune system and an infection because of his lackadaisical attitude and not drawing blood after I ran a fever for days. Are you kidding?! My oncologist here, who was on call at my local hospital, Dr. Bessudo, is caring and on top of my care. He gave me his cell phone a direct extension to his MA. The nurses who do my infusions here are very attentive and I had a waaaay better experience for my second and third infusions! I understand the that communication between 4 or 5 offices and their personnel can be difficult, and I gave them 4 stars for that reason. I have had to call twice before getting my response at times, but this is not the norm. Remember, most the oncologists here serve multiple infusion centers for our convenience. You have to understand in this day and age, you need be advocate yourself, and if the person didn't get the message or got so many, that they had to prioritize who they called back first- so be it. I call again later that day or next day. I'm pushy like that, but polite and it always works out well. The only drawback to this office, is that the infusions chairs are a bit close together as it's a busy smallish office, so not a ton of privacy. I try to be open to what will come way way each time and have met some very nice patients who I've enjoyed visiting with, and it makes the time pass quicker. If I want privacy, I pull out my iPad and people respect that (you can even bring earplugs and nap). I will close my review with this....don't be fooled by fancy offices with privacy a nice view (like at my first center), if you're doctor sucks, none of that matters! It apparently doesn't even matter that UCI is a top cancer center in California, it's all about the your individual provider and the relationship you build with them. I have been extremely happy with my oncologist and the cCARE team. I would not let the first two reviews dissuade you, you will get great care here! read more

Mary Anne one the assistants is very rude & disrespectful. She doesn't return phone calls & is confrontational when anything you say isn't what she thinks is what happened. Very sad that this facility continues to employ her after patients have complained. Most of the clientele is elderly & she has no compassion or conscience. read more
