I've been with CBI for about two months now and my overall impression of the company is good. They had me fill out an application in person which was refreshing after endless online attempts at other jobs. They did my security training for free (with the promise that I would commit to working for a certain amount of time). After you pass training you have to get licenced in the State where you work. There is a fee for that licence, I had no money to do this at the time so CBI loaned it to me and then deducted it through my first couple of paycheck's. The pay differs from site to site. I hear that some sites suck and that other sites are amazing. Generally the more dangerous a site is, the more you will be paid. CBI tries their best to work with you on what you wish your hourly wage to be, but they can't satisfy everybody's request. You have to pay for your own gear. Flashlights, pepper spray, batons, duty belts, notebooks, duty boots, and everything but the pants; shirt; and coat are funded by yourself. This isn't bad if you shop smart, I was placed on an unarmed site and the gear that was required and the cost of my gear is as follows, Boots $30, Belt $10, Flashlight $10... That's all. It's obviously more expensive if you're working a site that requires a firearm, but since those sites are more dangerous you'll be paid more. There is a $100 safety deposit you pay on the uniform, it comes out of your paycheck in $25 increments for your fist 4 paychecks. You get this back when you return the uniform in good condition. The site that I was put on is nice, I work full-time and have the grave shift on weekends. My supervisor is very reasonable and helpful, he is willing to take a phonecall at 3 in the morning if you have any questions or concerns. CBI is very forgiving when it comes to mistakes depending on what the mistake is. If you were unaware of a certain policy or if you forgot to lock or unlock a door, or didn't have time to shave in the morning, CBI will forgive without a problem. If you're rude to people on your site or neglect job duties you may be able to redeem yourself on another site after a transfer. If you lie on reports or put the contract between CBI and the client at risk there's a plenty full chance you will get sacked. Just do the job you were hired to do and you will be fine. Overall CBI has been good to me. I hope this review helps! read more
