We were always extremely proud of Sarah (2022 Rocket Recovery Engineer USYD Rocketry Team), she and her Team just upped the ante on Awesome....... "Spaceport America Cup" is the world's largest intercollegiate rocketry competition made up of students from all over the world who now travel to Las Cruces New Mexico in the USA to showcase their engineering skills. Home of Spaceport America, Las Cruises New Mexico, USA. ESRA, the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association, originally partnered with Spaceport America 5-years ago, the world's first purpose-built commercial spaceport located in southern New Mexico, to offer academia and industry a unique opportunity to collaborate, compete and inspire the next generation of aerospace engineers and scientists. Beginning in 2017, ESRA's Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) became the flagship activity of a new annual event called the Spaceport America Cup (SA Cup). Scott McLaughlin, Executive Director of Spaceport America "Not only does it bring together the world's brightest and most talented engineering students, it showcases what the World has to offer, and It really falls into part of our mission at Spaceport America for STEM Outreach and Workforce Development." In 2019 the University of Sydney Rocketry Team won the then 10,000 ft Spaceport America Cup, while two years of Covid-19 killed the USA Live Competitions, the 2022 Team is now following in their footsteps. In 2022, after 2-years of reeling from the Global Pandemic, Spaceport America Cup is celebrating its 15 year anniversary, so they have increased the target from the 10,000 ft competition, and introduced 30,000 FT. COMPETITION TARGET OBJECTIVE Achieving as close to 30,000 FT without overshooting the target while carrying a Dynamic Payload designed by the Team to be handled mid-flight, the recording of all Video & Telemetry Data of the Flight and its Cargo/Payload, and finally returning ALL Stages of the Rocket safely back to Earth. Team USYD, during flight the rocket, developed a robot arm that engaged and retrieved a piece of "Space Junk" simulated by securing it as a pendulum (payload) inside Bluewren, to simulate live space conditions. With computer vision for tracking and monitored by the team's telemetry capabilities, both the booster rocket and the main rocket were safely parachuted back to Earth and retrieved. USYD were winners in the 30,000 Feet Category for Technical Recording and Handling of their Space Payload. 'Bluewren' also achieved a height of 29,933 FT on a Target of 30,000 FT. The Team is now awaiting confirmation of the Overall Winner, delayed due to late launches, weather conditions and Judges flight data confirmation Judges flight confirmation. Through several sleepless nights watching rockets launch and then viewing the Award Night live, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. From Sarah watching MacGyver over and over as a small girl, and always building things, like a working elevator at 7-years old, and every night tucking her in without fail it was the why and how is this made, in addition to her amazing puppet shows. Her heart is the only thing bigger than her intellect. As she has grown up Sarah is now following a dream that will open doors for her into the future of Space Exploration inside her lifetime. Only 13 were selected and travelled to the USA. Ok, so maybe there's only toilets for men OR women on each floor (when it was originally built, no women would attend such a technical institute, so why bother with toilets for both sexes on each floor!). In spite of all this, I still want to give it three stars! It's conveniently located to all kinds of transport. You can get to the city, Glebe, or Newtown equally easily. Located in Kiribilli/Milson's Point, the school is located by the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Two main campuses constitute the school. One is for junior school (grades 3-6), the other is for the senior school (grades 7-12). From certain vantage points in the school, you can see the entire bay with global iconic structures such as the Sydney Opera House, the Center Pointe Tower, and of course the Sydney Harbour bridge. When viewed from Circular Quay, you can see a giant white cross on the side of the building. Like many of Sydney's private schools, the school has a long and rich history. All students wear two types of uniforms. A summer semester uniform and a winter semester uniform. The school is an all boys Jesuit day school. The Jesuit educational philosophy is to develop all aspects of a student versus specifically focusing on mere academics. Many students are well rounded with good academics and heavy involvement in extracurriculars such as sports or volunteer services. The school is generous with providing financial assistance or scholarships to its students. In terms of demographics, the school has many students of various ethnic and socio-economic background. This enables students to learn and understand that each student is valuable despite his personal differences. The school's motto is Ad Majora Natus, which is Latin for "Born for greater things." The expectation for the students is that they will contribute to society in ways greater than they expected. The school has a beautiful chapel with beautiful stained glass windows. The main images of the stained glass windows include Jesus Christ and St. Aloysius Gonzaga, the namesake of the school. Surrounding him are the four main Saints that constitute the institutions' houses. For non-Australians or British, the houses are similar to that of the houses in Harry Potter. The houses are Owen House (Green), Southwell House (Blue), Campion House (Red) and Olgivie House (Yellow). They are named after St. Nicholas Owen, St. Robert Southwell, St. Edmund Campion, and St. John Olgivie. All were Roman Catholic Jesuits executed by Protestants for their faith. The statue of St. Aloysius Gonzaga was moved from the corner of the senior school and place into the center of the senior school campus. The statue is painted in white and the sword of St. Aloysius was broken off years ago. It's funny that it was never repaired. The school is walking distance, unfortunately uphill, to the Milson's Point train station. If you go north, you can go to North Sydney, if you go south, you will go into the Central Business District and across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Close by to the school is a great fish and chips shop. Your fish and chips will be freshly cooked and wrapped in newspaper (old school style). Don't forget to add chicken salt or vinegar to your order for a delicious kick to it. Once you get your order, spend some time eating it under the Sydney Harbour Bridge at Bradley Park.

You might think you've been transported to a scene from Harry Potter. The view is impressive both from the outside and inside. The heritage sandstone buildings are worth the admiration. The place is so wonderful, you can simply enjoy a picnic here or spend hours taking pictures and admiring the architecture. The photo ops are endless if you are into that type of thing. Overall, if you are a fan of architecture or a fan of Harry Potter style buildings, you'll definitely enjoy this place.

I would however like to mention one particular waiter (his name tag read Andrew Dossetor so i will assume for now that this is his name) who left me feeling bitterly disappointed by the end of what was for the most part a pleasant evening. He was poorly dressed, wore a terrible haircut, failed to understand the simplest of commands, seemed more attentive toward the females at my table and neglected the males, and, perhaps worst of all, spilt a significant amount of chocolate sauce on my dear friend's suit collar only to fail to apologise. It is a shame that one weak link can so swiftly tarnish the reputation of such a fine establishment. I have written a formal letter of complaint to the establishment and I expect that action shall be taken in response to his poor performance on Monday evening. Bon appetite William

All of their other courses are conducted at various public secondary schools in the inner west. Well organised, and it is always great to flick through their brochures and select a course of two to attend either in the evening or during the weekend; just to get out and about and learn a new skill; and also to interact with likeminded people. Their cooking classes (especially the Thai one) isn't too bad; and it is great to eat the food afterwards; although their prices could be a bit lower and their class sizes could be a bit smaller. Fairly experienced teachers, although you are sometimes better off saving your cash and figuring out some of the topics they teach yourself; especially as a couple of the business related courses (for what they are worth) are actually a little boring, and did not receive much value out of them. An establishment that will continue to remain quite popular among those living in the inner west. Any of their health and fitness courses are also good to do once in a while; especially any of the aqua courses at Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre.
