Worst mechanic ever and the most disreputable mechanic in the Salida and BV area! I brought my…read moreVolvo to Bob to have the fuel pump replaced. He sat on the job for nearly 3 weeks leaving me stranded without transportation in a rural community. My car started stalling as soon as I got it back from him. He claimed it was a problem with the fuel tank not pump. I had to get the car towed to a Volvo mechanic on the front range where sure enough Bob had installed the fuel pump wrong. After showing Bob the notes and pics from the new shop and asking for a refund on his labor, he refused and I've had to take him to small claims court. FYI Bob does not accept credit cards. If he had I could have disputed the charge through my bank. Do not do business with this man! He is a terrible mechanic and utterly lacking in character!

My local mechanic had told me before hand that I might need a new engine (long story there), so I knew the trip was risky. I made it to Crested Butte, but not further. I checked with my local guy, wondering if it would make $ense to ship it home to have the engine replaced there, but SkyHigh had a better price. So...I flew home and left the Oinker (pet name for the truck) with SkyHigh for an engine replacement. They worked over the 4th of July weekend to get the job done, purely voluntarily I might add as I hadn't thrown up any flares about urgent need of the truck or anything like that. I picked the truck up and made it back to Dallas without a glitch. Truck ran like a top all the way home AND....they even reset the clock. I mean I'd just put a new set of tires on it, and those people couldn't even be bothered to reset the tire pressure monitors and SkyHigh took the time to reset the clock. Amazing.
