Rad wedding venue! I've never seen anything like it! My best friend got married here last night. It was so historic, quaint, and beautiful. The actual barn owl inside the barn just topped everything off. The hills that surrounded the venue were so picturesque especially at sunset. Every spot was a great picture taking spot. There was a trailer for the groomsmen to get ready and a little room for the bridesmaids. Luckily we got ready at our hotel because there is no options for ac on the grounds. Bring fans!! It was in the 80s during the day and 60s at night. The bathrooms were clean. The barn itself is larger inside than it looks. There is a huge outdoor seating area. The grounds are very uneven so it's best to wear boots and bring a jacket! read more

Beautiful venue for my daughter's wedding! The ceremony view facing the creek was breathtaking. Loved the barn inside and out. Great for the dessert set up and amazing dance floor. Ample parking. Very well maintained venue. Reception area and catering area were good, (although, bit too small for tables for 250). I suggest a less than 26 tables. Be prepared for a dirt floor reception area. The late September afternoon winds sent dust over our tables settings. They only lasted a 1/2 hour or less...then all was well. Hard 10pm curfew. Be sure and read the contract thoroughly for clean up rules and regulations. The owners were great to work with and keep the venue well maintained. My wife and I got married at the Cayucos Creek Barn August 23rd. The venue is perfect. It truly was the best day of our lives and Dave was so incredibly helpful through the entire process. The venue is beautiful with a romantic rustic charm. Parking was incredible easy and Dave provided great value for the price. Everything about the venue is perfect. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a barn wedding. The town of Cayucos is beautiful and all of our guests commented on how they are going to plan a return trip. The barn is a charming, rustic, ramshackle place and is perfect for a shabby chic wedding if you don't mind the junk lying around the grounds and if you're good at dealing with difficult people. Unfortunately, the owner is an unprofessional business person. He promised some things before my daughter signed the contract for her wedding. Then after my daughter signed the contract (the owner never did return his signed copy), he reneged on a few details; changed the price and the number of hours the barn had been rented for; was generally unavailable when she needed to contact him; and tried to charge her for "decor items" (hay bales) left behind by the previous bride (who also told us that she didn't get her cleaning deposit back...which made us laugh since the owner's cleanup "standards" appear to be very lax)! Because the barn rental price has increased a lot, you really should consider the additional time, energy and money you'll have to expend arranging and renting supplies... because you WON"T BE GETTING much service: there's no on-site catering; no set-up or clean-up crew; no oven, fridge, china, flatware, glasses, etc.; no drawing of the barn with exact measurements (the barn has several level changes, doors, etc. you have to work your seating around, so you'll need to go measure ); no decent chairs (just metal folding chairs) and so on. read more

I highly recommend the Cayucos Creek Barn. My partner and I got married there on August 9th 2014. Dave was very straightforward and easy to work with. He honored the terms of our initial rental agreement, even though we signed it a year and a half in advance and his rates increased later in the year. Dave made sure the place was in beautiful shape (grass, garden, etc.) for the wedding, and he mostly stayed out of the way on the day of. The venue itself is just gorgeous. Parking is super easy. The barn is spacious and unassuming, and the hills around are a perfect landscape. To be honest, when we showed up on the day of, it was even better than we could've imagined. The sun was bright and warm, and there was a cool breeze. It stayed comfy throughout the evening for the lovely moonrise. read more

In 2006 I got engaged to my beautiful blushing bride. We set out to find the perfect wedding site and were shown a single thumb nail photo from a wonderful woman who publishes "My Wedding Day" Magazine. After speaking with her, she suggested the place and sent us with detailed directions to the magical town of Cayucos. We arrived while another wedding couple was setting up the barn. We took one look at the place and decided right then and there that this was going to be our wedding destination. As we stood taking in the site, the barn owner Dave came flying in driving a go-cart. We spoke at length, wandered the grounds and discussed plans both simple and outrageous. He was incredibly accommodating and was excited to help us execute even our most ridiculous ideas. And by that I mean building a stage, steps, rigging lights requiring a scissor lift, up lighting in the trees and a fire pit. All of this came to fruition and more. True, the barn comes with nothing(except bathrooms). It is a barn after all! You want tables and chairs? Rent them. Food, get a caterer. Flowers, music? All of this needs to be brought in and there is plenty to be found in the local area. Florists, caterers, bartenders and more all in the town of Cayucos as well as San Luis Obispo just down the road. In September of 2007, we, along with 130 of our closest friends and family descended on the town of Cayucos for what we, to this day, refer to as "The Barn Burner". From the beach walk we took in the morning until after midnight when we left the barn married, the day, heck, the weekend, was simply incredible. You want to get married in a place that allows you to create your own theme? Decorate your own way and to make your wedding yours instead of how the place is already set up? Well then the Barn is for you. Not willing to put in the work? Well then, might I suggest a banquet hall at a nice hotel. The choice is yours. We made ours and would not ever change it! Had our daughter's wedding there last year. Absolutely beautiful setting and Dave and Laura are the most wonderful people to work with. Could have not asked for a more perfect day or setting. When we arrived the next morning to clean up , Laura was already there gathering stuff by putting all the table settings flowers on one table. She went the extra mile; it was so thoughtful and unexpected. The bathrooms were clean and accessible for our elderly family members and we had plenty of room for all our 200 guests. My Fiance and I got married at the barn last August and we had an amazing time. Dave is very easy going and makes it really easy to transform the place into whatever you want. The location is close to town but far enough away to feel like you have privacy. Parking was convenient and close for our guests and the caterer mentioned that set up was easy. We looked at many different barns in the area but this one was beautiful, flexible, close, very reasonably priced and ended up being perfect. read more

What a fantastic wedding venue with nature as it's backdrop. The 100 year old historic barn is beautifully rustic and the owners, Dave and Lori, keep it in pristine condition. They suggested many great vendors in the area for food, music, flowers and shuttle van service. Be sure to wear or bring flats because the ground is a bit uneven, but everything else was perfection! Awesome barn, truly unprofessional management. I had my wedding here in May and there is so much to love about this place, if only the owner ran it like a real wedding venue. There are no amenities or basics (we had to rent a convection oven and transit cabinet, and we had to measure all the interior dimensions to plan the layout of the barn because he doesn't provide them anywhere and there are several level changes, steps, doors, etc.) The owner attempted to change pricing on us (months after we had a contract signed), is difficult to get ahold of, tries to charge for anything decorative (hay!) the last wedding left on site, and is generally unprofessional. I can't tell you how many headaches he added to the wedding planning. The event came off wonderfully in spite of this, but it sure left an unpleasant taste! Anyone looking for a truly unique, rustic space will find it in this barn - but be warned, it will add a lot of unnecessary stress to your big day. We picked it because at the time, it was a reasonably priced venue with the feel we wanted. However, since he keeps increasing the rental price, you can get a lot more for your dollar somewhere else. read more

I am not generally one to exagerate but the truth is Cayucos Creek Barn was perfect. We began by speaking to Dave who from the beginning made it clear that he is willing to be flexible to make our day what we wanted. We met with him a couple times and each time came away excited to be dealing with such a professional yet personal and friendly individual. The barn itself is beautiful and clean and the lights set the scene for a perfect dance floor or a romantic feeling dinner for family and friends. The entire space is clean and beautiful and well maintained. We had fun adding little touches to the space to make it feel like ours but it would be a beautiful wedding without changing a thing. The entire property is set up to accommodate whatever your event may hold. Our DJ, photo booth operator and caterer, were thrilled to find almost the entire grounds are wired for electricity. We weren't limited to using the barn and instead could really use the whole property to give our guests room to roam and enjoy the whole night. Dave has found a way to ease so many of concerns that anyone would have when planning an event. He has comfortable, clean bathrooms that remained stocked and never had more than 3 people in line (of our 150 guests), the parking is large, can easily accommodate many cars ,and is only a small garden away from the barn itself. At one point in the evening I wanted to walk around and get away for just a moment. I was overjoyed to see some of my friends sitting by a fire ( that Dave set up seating and all), and across the yard a bit, friends who were laughing and enjoying funny pictures at the photo booth. The barn was glowing with all the wonderful lights and the music and laughter was loud with friends and family having a blast. Everyone who came to our wedding had to travel at the very least 3 hours no one lived in the area and not a single person failed to mention what a beautiful place it was and what a special wedding we had. We traveled 5 hours to have our wedding here and wouldn't have changed a thing. Dave and his wife have created a very special place for any event and I would gladly recommend it to anyone. read more
