After viewing the property (which was shown by one of her friends, not Erica), we were asked to fill out a paper application that took about a week and a half to process. Later, she directed us to fill out an "official" Zillow application, saying we looked good for approval based on my husband's income. The application fee was never mentioned upfront during the tour -- it was only brought up later, which is very unprofessional. Still, I paid it because my lease was ending, and I trusted she'd handle things properly. Weeks passed with very little communication. She called my husband just last week to confirm that I had permission to list him as a co-applicant, which made no sense after all the paperwork we'd already done. Today, when I called to ask about the status, she said she was still "waiting on her partner." When I expressed frustration about the delays, her response was, "Oh, I thought you all would've found another place by now." That comment was completely uncalled for and lacked compassion or professionalism, especially since my family has been staying in a hotel waiting on this process. We've been patient, respectful, and cooperative. It's not about the money -- it's about accountability and respect. Communication, honesty, and follow-through matter when people are trusting you with something as serious as housing. Sadly, Mrs. Toles failed in all of those areas.
