There's something for every fitness level and goal, so it's easy to stay motivated and keep workouts interesting. The coaches are knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping everyone succeed. They create a positive and supportive environment while making each class both challenging and fun. The atmosphere is another standout. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and respectful, making it a place you actually look forward to coming back to. If you're looking for a gym with excellent classes, amazing coaches, and a great community, I highly recommend this one.

I recently tried a few other gyms, and while they were okay, they just didn't compare to Afterburn. At first, the membership price might seem like a lot, but once you compare the pricing to other gyms and what's included with Afterburn it feels worth it. Keep an eye out because they do have specials for new clients often! ;) And if you know someone who already comes to Afterburn, you can do a "friend referral" that can help you both. ;) The trainers here are incredible. They push you to become stronger while also encouraging you every step of the way, literally! On the days when I want to give up, they're the ones reminding me that I can do hard things. As someone who started out overweight and out of shape, I can honestly say I've never once felt judged. The trainers create such a positive environment, and the members are just as welcoming and supportive. One thing I really appreciate is that the classes never feel overcrowded. Unlike other gyms where you're packed in like sardines, there's plenty of space to work out comfortably. What really makes Afterburn different is the community they've built. They don't just focus on workouts--they focus on their people. From holiday events and team challenges to themed workouts and brunch workouts, they create opportunities for everyone to connect, have fun, and make lasting memories. It feels like you can build friendships here. I also love the new sauna and cold plunge. I use them regularly, and they're always clean, well-maintained, and never overcrowded. If you're overweight or you're just trying to get back on track, don't let the financial fear hold you back. The trainers will help you build healthier habits without breaking your budget. I realized that by cutting back on fast food and making better choices, I was actually saving money--enough to help cover my membership. That's an investment that pays you back in your health. If you're on the fence, I highly recommend taking advantage of the 3-day trial. Walk through the doors, give it a chance, and see what it's all about. By the end of the year, you'll be glad you started. Afterburn won't change your life for you--but if you're willing to show up and let them help you, I truly believe they can help you build a stronger, healthier, and happier version of yourself. The hardest part is taking that first step.

After a couple of heart attacks in 2024, I went through the Cardiac Rehab program at Henry Mayo…read moreNewhall Hospital. Once I completed that, I wanted to maintain my cardio program, and joined the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health Center. I really like this place, for several reasons. I can actually get free memberships at several local gyms through my insurance, but I'd rather pay to go here. It's a more mature crowd, with most people either doing some sort of rehab or physical fitness. It's not a social club or hang out, everyone is serious about what they're doing. I don't have much experience in gyms, but from what I see, they have plenty of cardio machines (treadmills, crossfits, arm ergos, upright and reclining bikes) as well as weight stations with both plate weights and resistance. There are free weights as well and all kinds of support stuff like mats, stretch bands, etc. The place is spotless, with constant cleaning going on, and everyone seems to take the time to wipe their stations down after use. I don't use these areas, but they have beautiful locker rooms, showers, basketball courts and a pool that is half indoor/half outdoor. The staff is friendly and helpful, and available for personal training if you desire. They have tons of classes from spin to balance. Downstairs, there is an advanced weight training room. I go three times a week and always look forward to it. I highly recommend you check them out.

I unfortunately left and tried LA Fitness and after 3 days I canceled my membership and went back to Henry Mayo ! It is well worth every penny , especially the kids club! Moms, if you're looking for a SAFE AND CLEAN place to leave your children, so you can take time for you , this is the place !! The absolute best care and kindness they provide is hard to find. I sometimes find them holding my child for the entire hour or falling asleep in their arms !!

This is a great 24 hour gym! Been a member here for years. It's not specifically a "private" gym…read morebut it has the feeling of a private gym. It's organized and clean although sometimes it's a little dusty. That's the worst thing I can say. But this is Santa Clarita and everyone knows it's dry and windy so it's going to be a little dusty from the door constantly being opened. My experience with staff has always been positive. My encounters with Joel (the manager for a few years now) and Riley, has always been positive. They are friendly and polite and they do a great job of keeping the gym in order. Being that this gym has a more upscale feel and is available to members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with limited staffing, members are expected to police themselves and follow the rules. It's not only ownership that expects this, but it's other members as well. That's why we pay more for membership here. If I wanted a messy gym where nobody cares, I'd go to LA fitness. Members are held accountable of they commit rules violations and some people don't like that. This isn't LA fitness or EOS where if you break a rule, nobody says anything (which is also one of the reasons I really like this place). If you don't want a problem with staff, follow the rules. Don't open the door for anyone who can't get in on their own, don't bring in guests (or your children) during unstaffed hours and return the equipment you use. It's common sense and courtesy. There are signs up with rule reminders around the gym and at the front door and everybody gets explained the security rules upon signing up. If you break the rules, you're probably going to get contacted by staff. Most members appreciate the attention to safety and enforcement of picking up when you're done. Others appear to get upset because they didn't like being told they violated a rule and come to yelp to complain. Don't judge this place based off a few negative reviews left by people who are upset they were contacted for rules violations or didn't know how to read the contract they signed. It's a great community, it's safe and has everything you need to get a great workout!

I went into the Saugus/Santa Clarita Anytime Fitness on August 10th, 2026 to work out. I was alone…read morethat day. The manager, Joel Schoonmaker, approached me about my daughter having been in the club with me on two previous occasions weeks ago. He stated the policy of no children allowed in a scolding manner while I was on a treadmill. I immediately said I understood and would not bring her back. I thought that would be the end of it. Instead, I was publicly confronted and spoken to in an extremely condescending, authoritative and intimidating manner in front of other members. I repeatedly asked Joel to speak to me professionally and told him that I was uncomfortable with how he was addressing me. I asked to speak with the owner because I no longer felt comfortable speaking with him. He repeatedly said, "I'm the manager," but would not give me the owner's information. During the interaction, he told me, "You know what? You're awkward. You're just awkward." He walked away and then came back to the treadmill I was on and continued scolding me. I would not accept his unprofessional treatment and repeatedly told him I felt uncomfortable as he was rude and was embarrassing me in front of others who were working out as well. He then told me to follow him to his office. I told him I would not go into an office with him because I was uncomfortable after the way he had been speaking to and treating me. I repeatedly asked to speak with the owner instead. He did not give me any information as to how to reach the owner, instead he said multiple times that he was the manager. He told me that if I wouldn't follow him to his office, I would have to leave or be removed by law enforcement. He then said words to the effect of, "You don't want me to get law enforcement involved. I know everyone out here." He also referenced his and his wife's employment with Glendale PD. At that point, I felt intimidated and extremely uncomfortable. He went to call law enforcement, so I gathered my things and left the gym in tears. He also told me that he sometimes brings his own children into the gym because "I'm the manager." I understand that managers may have different circumstances, but considering that seeing children there was the reason I misunderstood the policy in the first place, this felt like a double standard. The child policy itself was not my issue. I made a mistake, I acknowledged it, and I said it would not happen again. My issue was how I was treated. A manager can enforce a rule without publicly humiliating a paying customer, calling her "awkward," refusing to provide the owner's information, using law enforcement as intimidation, threatening membership termination and a $200+ charge, and ultimately removing her from the gym because she asked to be treated professionally. I left feeling humiliated and completely disrespected. This could have been handled with a simple, professional, and private conversation. Owner, please reach out to me. I have tried to find a way to contact you but have not been able to. I want to be clear that this review is not intended to reflect negatively on the gym itself. We genuinely enjoy working out here. The facility is clean, updated, and the rest of the staff have always been wonderful. Unfortunately, Joel's treatment of me left a horrible impression on my family and me. I came to the gym simply wanting to work out in peace, and instead I left in tears after being publicly scolded, called "awkward," intimidated with references to law enforcement, and ultimately removed from the gym. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with the owner directly and have this situation addressed appropriately. I do not believe I should lose my membership or be charged a fee as a result of this interaction, particularly after I acknowledged the policy and agreed to comply with it going forward. I am hopeful that ownership will take this seriously and address the unprofessional and humiliating way this situation was handled. I would be happy to update my review once this matter has been fairly and appropriately resolved. I would also advise that he is not permitted to speak to customers in a private office where he can behave this way in private without cameras. There are many people who have a hard time speaking up when being mistreated by people like Joel.

Maintain your equipment, lubricate all the adjustment pins on the equipment. You pull in a pin to adjust your equipment the pin will not retract due to no lubrication. Lubricate the linear bearings on all your Smith machines. Here we go again with the free teenager membership for the summer. Before these teens are allowed to work out, planet fitness should instruct these teens on what not to do. Don't use your cell phone in the weightlifting area. Don't put personal property on a piece of equipment and walk away and expect someone not to remove it. Don't huddle around a piece of equipment with your friends and talk for 5 to 10 minutes between sets. Don't spend five minutes between sets on your mobile phone, do your sets and move on. Adult gym members are guilty of this also. It's one of the most irritating things about Planet Fitness. All phone use should be done in the lobby at the front desk. I went in for a workout on June 23rd 2026 the gym was full of teenagers, talking, putting personal property on machines walking away expecting to save the machine for later. Doesn't fly with me. I remove the property and do my workout. But this is bound to cause a conflict. Your gym staff need to monitor the gym every 15 minutes shut down people on their phones. Tell the teens to move away from a piece of equipment if they're not using it. Planet Fitness has lost the ability to run their gym by their narrative and policies. Planet Fitness has let teenagers control the gym. If you agree with what I'm talking about, you're about to join the Planet Fitness wait until Planet Fitness has controlled of its own gym again.

However, I've now had two uncomfortable interactions with a front desk employee named Deborah that left me feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and honestly unsafe. The first interaction happened while I was on the treadmill. Deborah approached me and told me that "someone complained" because I didn't have headphones on while watching something on my phone. I completely understand the common courtesy of using headphones in the gym, which is why I purposely chose a treadmill with empty machines on both sides of me, kept the volume extremely low, and even had captions on. The gym music, conversations, treadmills, and equipment were all significantly louder than my phone. When I explained this, Deborah herself responded, "Oh I know, I can't even hear it and I'm standing right here." That immediately confused me, because if she couldn't hear it standing next to me, I didn't understand why it was being treated like a complaint issue. When I asked who complained, she said she didn't know. The only people near me were a few women talking loudly together, so the situation felt strange and unnecessary. What bothered me most was not the reminder itself, I understand policies and courtesy rules exist. What bothered me was the approach. It felt like she blamed an "anonymous member complaint" instead of simply asking me directly to put headphones on. I later told Deborah that I didn't appreciate being told a story that didn't make sense when she could have just communicated honestly and respectfully. The second interaction happened when my app wasn't working and I asked to check in using my phone number. As I was walking away, Deborah stopped me and repeatedly pushed me to take a photo for the account. I told her multiple times that I was not comfortable doing that, but she continued pushing and giving reasons that were not accurate. I explained that I've been coming here for months without issue and that my home gym already has my photo on file. She incorrectly insisted this location was my home gym, even after my app showed otherwise. Again, the issue is not that she wants to do her job thoroughly. The issue is the way she communicates and disregards boundaries after being told "no." Not everything needs to become confrontational or overexplained. There's a difference between being helpful and making members feel uncomfortable. These interactions have created a negative feeling every time I come in and see her working. I hope management addresses the importance of respectful communication and listening to member concerns and boundaries. If management would like to contact me directly, Deborah knows exactly who I am.
