Were in our 3rd cavco. 01, 12 and now a 16. I also worked on installing a deck on a 23 where we had to peel back the siding. Build quality has gotten progressively worst over the years. The 23 was a shocker once we took off some siding. 2x2 construction with staples that were half missed or the wood was split in several areas. The 16 were in is a shit box, split siding, terrible cracks, just cheaply made in light of the falsehood materials are better now then ever. No, profits are better now then ever. Ive been across country thru some pretty poor areas and the old metal sided homes are still standing. This turd will crumble away before we die Id bet. You can also easily see where crapco repaired the cracks after the "one year return to fix it" was up. None the less, its ours now and we'll deal with it. read more

After months of delays, Yesterday I was finally allowed by Cavco to enter my new home. I was very disappointed to find the inside looking like it had been in a terrible dust storm for weeks. It could be due to the fact that the windows don't function. I asked the Cavco representative "Miguel" about the windows and he said that he checked them himself. I asked him to show me and he had to climb onto the counter top and he still couldn't open the first window. Cabinet doors are worpped. Cabinet Shelving is cracked. Cabinets overall are of the cheapest wood you can buy. The cabinet drawers are off set and some don't close. The ceiling is missing paint in several areas. The carpet seam is very visible. I am so very upset that I think this could be the worst mistake I've made in my life I wouldn't recommend anyone to purchase a Cavco! Donald C read more

gave a star because I had to. they built my daughters home and screwed everything up, floors are wavey, walls cheap, had a fire in the house because of the electrical, she called Texas state inspector and the have to fix everything, now they want them to pay half of adding an electrical outlet for a rv because they want to save money. They want my kids to move out of their propety for 3 weeks to fix the trailer and they want them to move to a air bb where they cant take their dogs, and chickens. so the kids said we will stay in a RV on the property and rent us a trailer to for storage also. they agreed and now they want them to pay for half of the electrical pole to be installed, screw this company and your trailers are cheap as hell for the price anyways!! read more

Between delays from getting my home livable, poor customer service from the team at Cavco in Hamlet, NC, and the issues that have still not been resolved, I would NEVER recommend Cavco to a prospective buyer. I could go on and on with inefficiencies and poor customer service and workmanship. Based on my experience, Cavco has laborers for employees, not people who care about the product they produce. Finally had to give up on a leaking shower with grout falling off the tile. Purchased a new shower from Bathfitters NO LEAKS NO GROUT ISSUE. Just wondering what else we will have to replace. By the way both interior and exterior paint is lousy patch work job. read more

I would love to give mine a 5 star, but what improvements I've made through the years needs an A+. Mine is older between 1999 and 2000. I'm re-modeling and it's very important that I share what I've learned about the poor worksmanship I've experienced with mine. It's difficult to replace doors. Door frames are uneven, walls are uneven big time in closets. If your adding selves like I am be prepared especially the walls! I'm making my walls to look rustic with wood. Joints are usually two or more feet apart. NOT!! Way far apart. Pulling up all carpet to replace with wood floor. The flooring underneath carpet has uneven caps. I'll need to use a filer of some sort to even it out before flooring it. When I pulled old sinks out, I found holes that were unnessary to have along with uneven cabinets and worse of all was the circle made for sink. A 5 yr old could do a better job. It was bad. Whosoever did the fireplace did not clean up the mess. Guess they thought noone would ever see it. Just like everything else I've found from the roof that I payed extra for that wasn't there when we replaced the tiles. I'm sure I'll find much more as I'm remodeling, I'm really disappointed about what we found yesterday. My washing machine released a great amount of water, I called the insurance and it would take a book to explain what they did which was nothing about it. FARMERS I replaced a small portion and seem everything was ok. I found a hole in the flooring under the fridge and as I was removing the flooring it got worse. Everthing is opened and bad flooring is out. They have 2by6 for the flooring and no cross support like you would see on a deck. They did place very little away from where the fridge sets, but what botheres me is the walls are resting on top of one them boards used for the flooring. I have to tell you that the measuements are off and very uneven for flooring to rest on. I am now trying to find out if it's normal to bulit the bottom without that extra support. I hope they have better worksmanship than when I got mine. But nowadays, good help is hard to find. I know I'll find more as I go along, but a person should'nt have to find as much as I have. I'll let them know what I have found and I'm not expecting any graditude that they care one way or another. I almost bought a Cavco manufactured home (assembled by Legacy) in Arizona. I put in an offer as it was a new build and seemed well-priced even if there were a few cosmetic issues I could see. After the inspection was scheduled my intuition had me reading reviews on both companies. I knew then that the inspection would be awful and it was. 13 major flags and 5 minor flags. I canceled the escrow and feel very lucky that I walked away from a potential nightmare! Everything that could go wrong with a house WAS wrong. I wouldn't take it even for free. Exterior and interior trim/siding loose No access panel to hot water heater Exterior hose faucets not installed No crossover furnace duct (no heat/cool to front of house) Kitchen sink and bath sink missing angle stops ( no emergency shutoff) No kitchen ground fault circuit (shock safety hazard) No dryer vent installed Toilet flush assembly broken Shower wall coming off wall/unglued Roof shingles damaged, nails exposed, gaping, leakage, water damage Improperly installed drip edge flashing (water drips toward the house) Loose front door frame Etc etc etc read more

This Company is an embarrassment this was the fourth manufactured home we have bought we've always dealt with Palm Harbor's thought we would do something different picked out a Cavco park model and to this day almost 2 1/2 years later I still have things that weren't fixed right there Work is very very shoddy and sloppy their response to emails and phone calls you might as well forget it I started complaining about things a month after we were in our home and to this day there's still problems they use very cheap materials the first week we were in our house both toilets broke so all I have to say is do your homework believe the comments you see on this page buyer beware!! read more

Do not expect your problems to resolved in a timely manner. We have waited 8 weeks and they say it will be at least another 2 weeks before they can come out. To name a few of the major issues: 1) we cannot open the front door, 2) broken cabinet door in master bathroom, 3) cabinet doors above refrigerator not installed and molding is not finished in this area, 3) plug for dishwasher does not reach the plug outlet, 4) plunger in sink in the master bedroom will not open and unable to use sink, 5) unable to use shower in master bedroom due to a caulking issue. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY USE CHEAP MATERIAL, QINEXPERIENCED LABOR, AND DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER, ONLY THEIR BOTTOM LINE. Bought a home from N. Arizona dealer in 2018 (distributer of Cavco product). Home was delivered May 2019. There were several issues with home - a few to note were squeaking floors, drywall not finished to floor (didnt want cavco flooring) & was told that the baseboards will hide the unfinished drywall, water leaks on all doors and under furnace, external siding uneven or warped, etc. It was explained to me that these are "manufactured homes not custom built homes". Is the real reason for lack of workmanship in a home? With leaking doors (it rained, water puddled on floor), I was told to get storm doors. When doing walkthru, I was told to do the caulking myself since Cavco uses cheap material - and it goes on. The company's production line needs serious training - there is lack of QC oversight and education on how to measure or install anything. Cavco only cares about the bottom line, not the customer. Be very careful. We purchased a home from them just over a year ago. During the process of setting up the home they damaged a fence that they did not fix and needed to be replaced. They installed a septic tank that was not supposed to be and after numerous attempts to get them to take care of items uner warranty they failed to fo so. We reported the issues to the BBB and of course they never responded. read more

Have had the home two years,cavco has been in three times to fix things,twice for the bathroom grout falling out replaced with wrong color grout. Falling out again, Now floor pan has mold.been in to fix cabinets put tape down along the bottom,pulled it up pulled the paint up with the tape, cheap paint job. They put my home in 1 1/2 years ago. It took 5 months to do. When the first rain came in all of my windows leaked into the house. All the ceiling air vents leaked into the house. They came to fix the cracks, worst fix job ever. I can still see all of the cracks and they used a different color paint to cover back up. The guy they sent to fix the floor did not know how to make the tile pattern match. The grout in the shower is still falling out. Linoleum at back door is peeling up. Water has damaged the floor at front door. They came out to fix where the front door flooring was separated, the job lasted for 2 months. The floor is separated again. I can see all of the seems inside my house, the never repaired the dry wall flaking off from around the windows. The company they hire to fix the homes is a joke. My toilet was leaking so I asked if it could be the porcelain got cracked. The guy said he did not know what the porcelain part if the toilet was; really, how about the whole toilet is made of porcelain. If you step anywhere the carpet touches tile, you get stabbed by carpet tacks, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Cabinet doors are falling off, drawers fall out, the fridge they gave me was faulty so I had to get a new one. We had to dig all our own trenches to put in water, gas and electrical. read more

On the phone and in-person, they promised to email floor plans and to come to my property to estimate maximum square footage of mobile that could be placed on property. I drove from Flagstaff for a morning appointment and Manager of this location STOOD ME UP. No phone call, apology... just nothing! After waiting 45 minutes at site, I called to see if manager of this Cavco location could be lost or in an accident and he wouldn't come to the phone. He NEVER, EVER called me to apologize or give explanation for the no-show. And, I was prepared to purchase per his recommendation!!!!!! Can you imagine buying a unit from this location and being promised the moon and then have zero customer service? Beware! There are many manufactured home dealers, there is no reason to put up with zero follow-through and rudeness. read more

Watch out for this place under the authority of Brian, they were horrible. They treat you nicely at first luring you in and then when you've signed papers, gave the deposit down, and things are set in stone for you, they've trapped you and then turn on you. Brian started speaking very rudely to me knowing i would lose 10.000 dollars if i was to back out. They know you don't have the control any longer so they treat you horribly. He made comments that sounded very jealous and i think thats what fueled how he treated me. I have so much to say with nasty details that i could write a small book, but here's bullet points so you can get the gist. *Yelled at me when i needed his help to find contractors to prepare the lot and trench water. Ended having to find my own *called me yelling saying he was DISGUSTED with me because his sales lady told him i asked her for his managers number to complain *Tried to delay my home from being delivered and set up so i had to find my own delivery thus forcing them to change set up crews they yelled at me because of that *Has his son in charge of the set-up and he yelled at me when i found my own delivery service because they were trying to vacation skiing when they said they were working on my delivery. *didn't deliver my steps so i could get into my trailer until after inspection Needless to say they created this already stressfull process doubly so and there should be some sort of regulation against how they handle this process. read more

I called to look into pricing on the new Eco Retreats, and got some woman on the phone who acted like she had never heard of them. She then told me she would have to call me back after looking into to it for me. I waited all day and into the next day with no call back. I called the office again to inquire, and got a rude man on the phone who lectured me about this woman's unfortunate home life, and a poor sick spouse. After enduring his angry tirade, I again asked for some kind of information. He rudely interrupted and refused any information of any kind. WOW! They must really have a booming business to treat prospective customers in a manner like that! I won't be calling them back, and I most certainly will not be doing any business with Cavco. read more

i strongly suggest you get a home anywhere but here. it angers me the stress this place has caused my husband and i. i have never felt so strongly on a matter to ever leave a review but this place has. unfortunately we have bought our second home through here. it was absolutely the WORST experience. thru all the troubles we went thru, in the end they admit it was their mistake. they didnt finance our loan for the full amount that we signed for. so now they of course want their money and refused to pay our contractors who now are coming to us wanting their money all because CAVCO DIDNT SUBMIT THE RIGHT NUMBERS TO THE FINANCE COMPANY. so now we have to come up with the 7k shortage that wasnt financed correctly and treat us like its our fault. 7,000 SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLAR MISTAKE!!!
