The apartment was not in the condition I expected when I took possession, and throughout my lease I dealt with repeated maintenance concerns, inconsistent communication from management, and a property that seemed to decline while residents continued paying premium rent and mandatory fees. (Recent photos attached) Some of the issues I experienced included: - Maintenance requests that required repeated follow-up. - A trash compactor that remained out of service for an extended period, resulting in overflowing dumpsters and trash accumulating around the property. - Inconsistent valet trash service despite residents paying for it. - Amenity closures and ongoing property maintenance concerns. - Security concerns, including reports of vehicle break-ins. - Communication that often felt reactive rather than proactive. Unfortunately, the move-out process was the most disappointing part of my experience. I vacated my apartment on June 15, provided my forwarding address, and received no move-out accounting for nearly seven weeks. I scheduled a move-out inspection with management, but no one showed up. Fortunately, I anticipated there could be issues and took extensive photographs of the apartment before turning in my keys. My first Final Account Statement was dated August 4 and emailed on August 5, claiming I owed an additional $466.80 for "cleaning" and replacement blind charges. The charges identified should be standard expenses incurred by the complex when turning over an apartment, and in fact, my non-refundable deposit should have covered any difference for the blinds. (I have cats that chewed on the corners, so sorry, but not $500 worth of damages!) If you've read this far, I'd just like to add that the residents used to have a community FB page where we could voice our concerns, however when the new management company took over last year, they shut it down indefinitely.
