We have been coming to this place for many years with multiple dogs we have had and currently have,…read morerecently we have experienced as family a very traumatic incident. The way we were treated by receptionist ladies is simply not right, from asking for help and guidance we simply did not receive any good help at all. We had to switch on one our dogs to another clinic as we were turned down for service on Saturday when we called twice asking for help. They stayed numb and not helpful. As much money as we spent at that hospital I think we should be treated way more kind and better. Our whole family is traumatized by the experience and only time will let us heal from this. Very disappointed. The service quality in this country is not the same as used to be 20 years ago. People not as caring and kind as used to be. I feel so victimized and mistreated. Definitely will not receive an apology from stuff but I pray God other people will never go thru such horrible experience like we did. I requested transfer records for a dog they did not treated in emergency visit and they said they sent records but it was not completed, which is very unprofessional. Records should be given at any time requested. I recommend more compassion to this place. It got worse. I had to call back and request anxiety medicine for my dog after surgery they refused, I wanted to talk to the Dr they refused me in such service. I found later injury and bruises on his neck that was not there. They even did not charge me for the surgery which means they r covering up something they did to my dog that is not right. I am highly making the public aware of this place do not trust them so not bring your pets there because you won't get any good help, no answers, no personal treatment but you are just a number.

Dr. Groesch new my pups are my kids and how important they are to me and truly cared. However, he is no longer at Fairview Hospital for Animals. To make this short, my dog used to visit this facility all of the time and loved it. A couple of…read moredays before we were supposed to pick up our dog she called us while we were out of state and sounded very weird and just told us our dog had peed on himself and she gave him a bath. Why would she call us to say that? We picked him up and he looked half dead. We didn't notice anything strange until we got home and I noticed one of my dogs pads had been ripped out of his paw and on his back side of his hip he had distinct bite marks into his hip and he also had other bite marks on his leg and she never told us. Had she told us we would've gotten back quickly and taking him to the vet. She tried to claim my dog did it to himself , but my vet said there was no way. She wouldn't deal with it and even blocked me. I would never trust this facility if you love your dog. I never thought anything would happen to mine. I have plenty of pictures from the vet as well and I was going to take her to civil court, but my dog passed away eight months later and I was so sad that I couldn't even deal with it. Once we picked him up from there, and had him taken care of at the vet, he was never physically the same again and he was terrified to be left alone. I spent the next eight months of his life while he was miserable, taking care of him and carrying him around. The owner just kept trying to lie to me until she blocked me. Please don't take your babies here!!!!

I'm from a bigger city and usually use Rover but checked for the Decatur area and there weren't a lot of options, plus they were all pretty expensive. Looked into Almost Home and the price was great! We felt confident when we dropped off our dog, they were super accommodating - offering to look up our pet records at our vet as we didn't have ours with us. They were friendly and really seemed to enjoy spending time with animals. If we're ever in the area again and need pet boarding, I would definitely recommend Almost Home!
