A better approach would have been to either not answer the call if unavailable or kindly apologize and ask me to call back later. I hope this feedback helps improve the front desk experience because the doctors provide excellent care.

The hardest thing for me not many can guide you or inform you the people to take you to temporary housing and then permanent housing. Majority of people are not aware of the process it is not instant and takes time for myself and my brother it's almost a year and finding out people discriminate on the homeless whether it's a racist issue or stereo types it is sad we need kindness forward to try to make a little impact of a smile and saying good morning no one is better than other but the true kindness of the heart is priceless. That is not the reason why. Living literally 5 minutes away from this food bank, (walking distance), I still wanted to be some sort of help to them and help the homeless community and feed the hungry people that are practically everywhere. They have couple of entrances adjacent to eachother and are affiliated with the church next door. With that being said, I packed up a bag of goodies and walked over there at 8:15AM on 7/27/26. They are only open on Mondays and Fridays. (Please update your hours on Yelp so you don't confuse people). Some volunteer workers really go out of their way to help people, and a few others will give you a blank, confused, and lost stare that makes you feel very small, like Daniel the other day. On the bright side, Barbra and the director of this food bank named Sloan were helpful, kind, positive, softspoken and knowledgeable. Anyway, packed my bag with: 2 boxes of Rice-a-Roni Pasta, 2 cans of Progresso Chicken Noodle soup, 1 box of family size Kellogs Berry cereal, variety of Oatmeals, 4 Toto Cookies. Some other types of canned food, 2 boxes of Macaroni & Cheese, 1 bag of Plain Bagels, (count of 6), one big box of Macadamia Nut cookies, and a single, small, lonely chips. This is NOT my first time donating food to them. I have seen a few perishable and non-perishable items/products with expired dates on them. That is UNACCEPTABLE!! They wouldn't eat it, so why give it to someone else?? This pantry is only donations for food/beverages. Nothing else. They also get food from our local supermarkets such as Ralphs, Vons, Trader Joe's, and Sprouts. Before they open, there is a long line outside to pick up a bag or two. Overall, it's not a bad place, but few volunteers need to go that extra mile, put a genuine/sincere smile on their faces and pretend not to be SO pretentious.. The value of the food is what you make it to be!

He beat me, raped me, stole everything I owned and accused me of being worthless. I ran away from him, only to encounter several of his type on the streets. The workers at this shelter have been angels to me. I love them all, especially the manager, Kay, who is constantly busy and never says she is too busy to listen, my PC, Marilyn, who is setting the example of who I want to be more like, and Gloria, because she's a quintessential female badass. There are many great counselors here, who are helping me build up my self-worth, piece by piece. If they were among the King's horses and men, Humpty Dumpty WOULD be back together again. There are few male staff members, but they are all class and restore my faith that not all men should be considered sub-human. Our maintenance worker, Ricky, is here everyday and works very hard to make the place nice for us and always treats us with the highest respect and professionalism. I would give this place five stars, but the food is awful and would be much better if kitchen staff could prepare it, instead if rewarming crappy food a caterer brings. Also, there is a policy of laissez-faire, related to women stealing from each other, even though there are ample cameras to identify the thieves and subjecting them to termination. My abuser stole everything I ever got he could sell for a dime, so when these women do it, who I could physically stand up to for myself, it is a huge trigger for me, and I'm lucky the staff here has managed to diffuse my anger and redirect it thus far.

I have seen people who never get a loan or are the ideal predatory lending victim be saved by this great organization. At the end of the day, no one owes you a free loan. As for why the collections they are in a fiduciary position. Anything but following the strict guidelines of two co-signers and an aggressive group would constitute a breach of their fiduciary duty to stakeholders. Like the donors who have e trusted the money to keep revolving, the employees who depend on processing loans to have a job, and to be borrowers who depend on borrowers paying back their loans so they can borrow. I am still fighting my no-fault eviction with EDN at my back. The results aren't in (my case hasn't…read moresettled or gone to trial yet), but I wanted to weigh in and share a few things you should be aware of... 1. Court is stressful AF. Maybe this isn't news to you, but it cannot be overstated. I've been observing my courtroom+judge and have seen many unrepresented parties get handed their asses because they didn't know how to navigate the system and present a clear, legitimate defense in their case. I am already way ahead of those folks bc I've been given a multi-angle education on the reality of eviction court. (Spoiler alert: It ain't pretty.) 2. EDN is a community nonprofit. They are run largely by volunteers and do not charge for legal services. There is a huge demand for their work, so you have to show up in person and demonstrate superhuman patience to get an intake appointment. And because there aren't enough resources, they can't promise they will be able to represent you. That's why they focus so heavily on education and preparing you for court--with or without them. People who come looking for a handout, for someone to mollycoddle them or do the work for them aren't going to like what they find, at EDN or the courthouse. It's hard. No matter how you cut it. 3. EDN always tells us this is Bootcamp--not Summer Camp--because we're going to war. That is ACCURATE. There's a lot on the line. And there's simply no way to guarantee a good outcome. Even if you're paying thousands for representation somewhere else. The lessons you learn in the process can be harsh. I've def felt small and intimidated in class at EDN, which is by design! I could stomp my feet and say "to hell with EDN." Or I could choose to appreciate the asset they are and the tough love they dole out. Frankly I'd rather learn how to face and overcome these feelings in advance because the legal process is made to make the little guy feel small and intimidated. TL;DR - The way I see it I can be humbled by EDN, or humbled by court. I'd rather the former. Better to go in eyes open. Even if I don't win my case, I want to feel proud of how I stood up for myself, proud of how I fought. That's the gift this organization is giving me.

I cannot think them enough for keeping me housed and no longer living in fear of my sadistic landlords 24/7. I highly recommend their services above all others in Los Angeles. The only outstanding negative about visiting the offices in person is the parking situation be prepared to pay at least 10 -20 bucks either in meter money or with the parking services that represent the building. Metered parking spaces can be very difficult to find. therefore, give yourself a lot of extra time to park someplace else and walk. This practice is worth it.

I walked through the office to a door that led to the warehouse and saw a person out there through the window. Not wanting to make trouble by entering what was probably a restricted area (and now thinking donations might be received at the loading dock), I walked around the building to the dock. When I got in there, I didn't see anybody. I walked around the entire facility, even reentering the office area, but saw no-one. I called "Hello?" loudly in the warehouse area and the office area, but nobody responded. I went back to my car, got the box of lemons and left it on the front desk. I hope it goes to some people who need it. This is a sharp contrast with the MEND food bank nearby, which fell all over themselves to take my fruit tree donations.
