Equally important, they carefully took care of every possible detail that included driving my father's casket from San Antonio to Laredo, coordinating the funeral program and Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, and burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Funeral Director Manuel Osorio took the extra time and care to personally oversee the details of a disinterment and reinterment of my baby sister's grave to my father's gravesite. He coordinated the military honors at the burial site and stayed at the grave until the casket was underground. Additionally, the team at Joe Jackson created beautiful temporary grave markers for my sister and father. We are ever so grateful to Manuel for his sympathetic hand and keen attention to detail. I highly recommend Joe Jackson Funeral Chapels for when that time comes for your loved one.

They have denied me of having a service for my father in Arizona where I live and was planning on meeting other family, along with my mother Mirtha and sister Allison. They have allowed deceit, deception, and disorder to rule over my father's passing. We have paid for services IN FULL. However, a half-sibling of mine and his financially motivated mother Mayra have decided to go around Laredo asking for donations of prominent officials and families. This is complete FRAUD. They swindled my father while he was living and cannot be allowed to continue after his death. My half-sibling signed for my father's body to be taken to Joe Jackson and abandoned the body. My family has since then taken charge of any and all communications, requests for services, etc. A contract was entered into and services were paid for. However, Joe Jackson fails to release my father's remains and claims there is a dispute amongst siblings when there is none. One simply cannot or refuses to pay their portion. Long story short don't waste your money here. This has been a disaster. Nothing short of emotional torture. We've been told 4 different times to go for the ashes. Each time they bring up something that sounds more like sales for them than a solution to a problem that is non existent. Save yourself and your family from any extra grief. DO NOT USE JOE JACKSON FUNERAL CHAPELS THEY ARE NOT LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR BEST INTEREST.

The staff at the funeral home tell me to call the state office to get better assitance, and yet when I call the state, they say the funeral home is responsible. So where does that leave me at this point, that I have the staff at the office tell me, "well we did what we could". Do any of these message get passed to the acutal funeral directors. I travelled to Laredo a friends…read morefuneral... my friend had so many guests that they asked us park where his business and the funeral home share the parking lot... as I was parking this man started honking at me as he drove up to me... waving then telling me I had to move since he rented 5 parking spots... this man knew we would only be here about 15 minutes @ 9:30 in the morning on a Monday... this is a selfish uneducated man... if this man can act in such manner with a person attending a funeral... I wish they had…read morelet us know there was an issue earlier (they told us the day of the funeral), but they did go out of their way to go buy the cord so some of pictures were displayed of a cellphone. The owner, his mother, and the other employees were all kind--and we really needed that. The prices were economical. Also the Mexican sweet bread and owner's mother explaining the different options in Spanish during the initial consultation gives the business a uniquely Laredo ish atmosphere that felt comforting during such an overwhelming and painful period.

I will say that the staff is very nice however, they are not the most informed. They were often times completely unaware of certain things that were asked of them during my father's service. In an already incredibly difficult time in our lives, they made it very stressful. Firstly, the "complimentary" video memorial was a mess. They required I send in four songs, none of which were played. During the service they continuously kept restarting the video over and over again. I was a bit confused as I had sent them the list of songs two days prior. Secondly, the flowers that we were charged $125.00 for were never displayed on the casket. They ended up placing it on the casket at the cemetery. Also, another spray that was sent by a family member was lost. They sent a spray and a floral rosary(which was delivered so obviously the other arrangement made it to the funeral home as well). We paid $75.00 for a deacon to pray a rosary during the service. He was never advised and thus did not show up. The deacon was brought in at the cemetery. The obituary which costs $250.00 was published the day of the service which resulted in people not attending. And lastly, as the previous reviewer mentioned, we were also rushed out of the funeral home while we were clearly having a moment. It has been three weeks and the funeral home has still not obtained a signature from the doctor for the death certificate. I have called several times and the girls always tell me they'll call me back but they never do. This funeral home may be cost effective but it comes with a lot of minor issues. I would recommend you proceed with caution and to be in constant contact with them to remind them of the little details(which you shouldn't even have to be worrying about during a difficult time).
