This is the first negative review I have ever decided to write, but this business should be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS!! Catherine's Garden was a terrible choice for my sister's wedding, and I hope no one has the same experience.
Starting off, Julie provides a test trial bouquet for all brides, when my sister went to pick it up, it seemed that she forgot about it and was thrown together with the incorrect flowers. My sister took it as a mistake and discussed with Julie about corrections. She was still optimistic after this, that the wedding day would come together, however it did not. Catherine's Garden's arrival was scheduled for 11 am. However, when they failed to arrive by 12 pm, we began calling for updates. Each call was a new lie: "We will be in 30 minutes," "Just 15 more minutes," "Driver's not answering, but someone is on their way", "Our driver has been pulled over." Over 3 hours of excuses, when the venue was only 45 minutes away, they finally arrived at 3:20pm.
When they did arrive, a friend of the owner's (not an employee) was the only person there to begin setting up for the wedding that started at 5pm. Not only did they arrive late, but the flowers were once again all wrong. The bridal bouquet was once again incorrect. The corsages and groomsmen's boutonnières were falling apart. The flower girl's flowers were missing. The delay resulted in the pre-ceremony photos (bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, first look, etc.) having no flowers in them, which also disrupted the photographers' timeline and caused chaos. The ceremony space lacked sufficient time to be set up, and the arrangements were placed on the ground rather than on the stands that had been paid for. The centerpieces were a joke, basically just leaves scattered on the tables and the sweetheart table was poorly thrown together. Even the venue stepped in to fix the tables' appearances because how bad it looked.
We understand if employees call off or short staffing, but if Julie had been forthright about her inability to deliver the flowers, we could have made alternative arrangements to pick up ourselves, have them for photos, and begin setting up. But of course, that did not happened. During all of this, Julie's employee informed us over the phone that she felt "extremely sorry" and stated she would reach out to my sister after the wedding and planned to send flowers monthly for a year and arrangements for the mothers of the bride and groom.
To no one's surprise, we have not yet received any of these arrangements' months later. My sister went on her honeymoon, anticipating that Julie would reach out for the terrible experience as she had promised. However, Julie never followed through, not even offering an apology. When my sister got back, she requested an explanation and a potential refund for items she had paid for that were either not provided or were unusable due to their delay. For example, $100 each for columns that we never saw, $25 details pictures that were too late to be used, $175 for an incorrect bouquet, $30 for a missing wrist corsage, $70 for a missing sign florals, the list goes on.
Julie's only response was a copy of the contract section that stipulated that any concerns arising after two weeks of the event would be deemed void if she was not contacted. Given the nature of people's honeymoons, this provision seems rather convenient for Julie's terrible services. Also, does discussion about the issues ON THE DAY of the event not count? Nevertheless, when she finally did decide to answer, she agreed to discuss the matter with them. However, since then, Julie has not responded after multiple attempts to contact her. Hundreds of dollars were charged, and items and services were never provided. Despite this, she lacks the decency to offer a refund, explanation, or even a basic apology. What. A. Joke.!! Julie should be ashamed to run a business like this.
We are currently discussing with lawyers to assess if it's worth taking legal action. However, for now, this review will suffice.
