Dr. Hill has been my doctor for over 10 years now. She saw me through two very difficult pregnancies that both resulted in bed rest and preterm induction (my body's fault, not the doctor's). Leading up to the induction I had to be monitored very carefully, to balance my health with the baby's health, to determine the best possible outcome given all the complications.
She is up beat, very experienced, friendly, a bit fast-paced (high energy individual), no-nonsense, but has a great bedside manner. She tries to minimize the worries, but is sharp and keeps tab of all the important aspects to make sure you are taken care of. She balances "theoretically correct" actions with realistic situations, and takes a very reasonable approach to things. She does not overreact and that is quite reassuring when things feel like they're going out of control. She will take the time to explain things as needed.
Even in the middle of "uh oh" moments (meaning, some test comes out with negative results), she will explain to me of the issues, but reassures me enough not to panic.
During one my preterm inductions (9 weeks early), one of the maternal-fetal specialist was STRONGLY pushing for a c-section. Dr. Hill knew I was against c-section, and she stood up for me and proceeded with a very successful induction (I was monitored very very carefully, and was ready for emergency c-section if there was any sign of fetal distress). I have two beautiful children thanks to Dr. Hill's diligence and careful monitoring.
Dr. Hill is part time. But Dr. Jenny Hua who covers Dr. Hill's patents are very good also, and they work very well together. (I actually started with Dr. Hua, but switched to Dr. Hill when Dr. Hua was on maternity leave! and just stayed with Dr. Hill since then).
If you're looking for a calm, zen-master like doctor, Dr. Hill/Dr. Hua may not be the right personality for you. But if you like upbeat, cheery, experienced doctor, Dr. Hill is great! read more
