The staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is a very good standard, far better than most chinese takeaways I've been to but I think that's due to it being a restaurant too which pushes the standard higher. This is a popular place on a weekend so if you're eating in it's probably a good idea to book a table, if you can't get booked in then just order a takeaway. The only downside is they don't do delivery as they are very busy so you have to get it yourself.

The restaurant is masked from this area by a lacquered screen depicting birds, flowers and the countryside. The restaurant itself is fairly large with a good variety of tables to suit any sized party, round tables near the window. The décor is dominated on the wallpaper and pelmets by Chinese Dragons and framed small ornately designed teapots dotted around the walls. The menu is vast for both drinks and particularly the food, with a variety of set meals for two, three, four or five persons. What is staggering though is the price, on average about £10 for a main course, with some much more. The set meals represented good value for money though, but we didn't fancy the combination of dishes. We ordered three dishes and a portion of rice. For the money the food needed to an excellent and we weren't disappointed, it was exquisite - beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and very tasty. Then for the main course we got steak in a fruit sauce, beef in chilli sauce and king prawn massaman curry.. which again was great.. they are big portion sizes too so we didn't get chance to sample a desert. The service was excellent too.. we got a young woman as our waitress and she was delightful.. she engaged with us, was funny and attentive to our needs.. also we weren't rushed in anyway either.. they were quite happy for us to chat away at our hearts content even though it was getting close to their closing time. Now we're onto something. There are loads of soups to kick start you off. I like the sour and chilli number myself and then its name your meat of choice (or vegetable though don't be aggressive with that carrot) and then whatever delicious sauce or style you want. The set menu is a good plan although be prepared to eat a feast. It's not the cheapest Chinese around but it is certainly a tasty one. One tip though. I personally would avoid the tribute nights. The food is all freshly prepared and tastes great. I Have been going here for the past 5/6 years and the food is always brilliant. I've never had a bad dish. The only thing i would say is it would be great if they would do free delivery if you order over a certain ammount but there it a standered delivery charge no matter what you order but its worth it for the great prices and great food.. also every now and then i get a free fortune cookie.. How nice is that! :) and as i order from hear quite a bit.. it would be so nice if i got free fortune cookie each time i ordered from hear :) i chinese xx

Their also very helpful in cooking to dietry needs. Cons: They don't do delivery! If you're in around the area, try this local chinese out and you won't be disappointed!
