One of my fond memories was being in San Juan & I have met some wonderful people. Made so many new friends, who welcomed me with so much love & respect. One of the nicest person I met was one of the worker here who made my day by her presence! Thought me so much in 10 min & I have decided to take the ferry & visit Catano.

We arrived on a cruise and took the ferry so we could tour the Casa Bacardi. From the front entrance all the way to the return trip everyone was very friendly and super helpful guiding us. The shuttle times are very precise which is not normally seen in this type of industry. Both stations and the shuttles were very clean and comfortable. The price was only .50 per trip. I would recommend this shuttle even if you don't have any business across the bay. The views are fantastic !!

This ride was .50 one way 1.00 round trip. .25 for 60 and older and free of over the age of 70. It was a nice break from the sun to relax on the ferry as we made our way from San Juan to Catano. Even if you don't want to visit Catano I would say this is a great break from the day activities to just relax and take in the sites and enjoy the breeze coming off the water.

I'm on a boat! Only .50 cents a ride. Now that is a great deal to get across the water. You get to take in some nice scenery on the roughly 15 minute boat ride across from Old San Juan. We used this transport to bring us to Catano to Casa Bacardi for a tour and some rum drinks! As it was also the San Sebastian Street Festival the days we were here there were big parties happening on both sides. After we were done, and properly buzzed at the Bacardi factory, we went to head back and saw that there was a massive crowd waiting to get on the ferry. What was so impressive is how the staff here was so organized, and had us set up in seating areas in the indoor waiting area with music and fun competitive cheering going on. They then had a huge barge-like ferry show up within a few minutes and got all of us on that thing, Wow. The crowd was so cheery and respectful, and boarded the boat quickly and with no problems at all. They even had police on the boat to keep order, and did a muster drill. Can't beat this kind of service. The ferry boats themselves are a bit worn and not all that fancy, but gets the job done. Hey, for 50 cents a trip it's all good!

*** Hey, this ferry is a lil ghetto but it's only $0.50. (lol) *** It gets you from Point A to Point B in 5min, so it's a keeper. *** Runs every 30min or so. I didn't wait very long at all. ***

    Plenty of seating.

Can't beat 50 cents for a ferry ride. This ferry goes from Catano to Old San Juan. Many tourists take the ferry to cross over and visit El Moro. The day that we rode there was a class full of middle school students on a field trip. Once we took the ride back we realized that we could have driven BUT the ferry was fun. I would recommend taking a ride while in PR.

We learned exactly how the rum is made, everything from the barrel origins and their whiskey distillery partnerships to the local fungi that grows around the aging facilities. It was also cool to find out they ship and bottle in Florida, and even generate their own electricity on-site. The tasting was the best part. It's wild how subtle additions like a coconut ice cube or a few coffee beans completely change the flavor profile of the rum. Great people, great drinks, and an awesome gift shop. We had perfect weather for it, too. I will definitely do this again.

We stopped on our way between the beach at Quebradillas and the airport, and were glad we did. The tour has changed in 16 years but the welcome was still warm and embracing. Everyone from the guard at the front gate to random workers were super helpful. We started in a pavilion waiting for outr tour to start. The cost of the tour gives you a token to a drink at the bar -- made with Bacardí of course. We decided to wait till after the tour for the drink. The tour was interesting. First a ride on a tram around the campus with Gabriela providing explanations, then we toured a museum which started with a short video followed by a walk through rooms with artifacts from the history of Bacaradí. The high point is an exact replica of the bar at the abandoned and collapsing Casa Bacardí in Havana. The tour by ended in the adjacent gift shop where you can buy Bacardí merch and special editions of rum. Then a walk back to the pavilion where my wife had a piña colada and I had daquirí. Lots of fun. If you have time, the Bacardí tour is well worth the time and the price of admission.

I checked out the Facebook reviews and since my kids love to dance I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience this was. This is a essentially a night club on a boat that takes you around San Juan bay for an hour. As you're walking towards the boat you can't help but to get all excited because of all the lights and music. Once on board you can select between dancing on the upper or lower level. We choose the upper level because we wanted to feel the sea breeze as we danced. Once you settle in prepare to dance non stop for the whole tour. It was amazing to be dancing with people of all ages. I suggest getting on board about 20-30 minutes early so that you can get a few minutes of extra dancing time. The cost is 15.00 per person for locals and 20.00 for tourists. If you're a dancer you'll get your monies worth but if you're not, you'll have a good time by checking out the sights and all of the people on the dance floor. If you're in Puerto Rico, this is a must do.

The Britten Norman Islander planes are fantastic fun to fly in; if you're not used to small planes it can be nerve wracking at first, but just remember these planes and this airline make this flight all day every day and there's never an issue. Two of the three available landing patterns in Culebra are terrifying, but once you've gone a few times you realize the pilots know exactly what they're doing and the landing experience becomes hilarious and awesome. I highly recommend the flight to Culebra, doesn't matter if its on VAL or one of the other two airlines.

Two options to get there from San Juan: drive across the main island to catch a ferry (and waste a whole day), or brace yourself and fly Vieques Airlink. We opted for the second option, and it was quite epic... First the airport: the person at the check-in counter was a fifteen year old kid wearing shorts and flip-flops, he never checked our IDs but instead asked us to write down our name and weight (!) on a sheet of scrap paper. 45 minutes later, we're boarding a tiny propeller airplane with 8 seats... the pilot is talking on his cell phone while taking off... seriously! I guess I'm making it sound worse than it really was... we landed safe and sound in Vieques after 20 minutes over the ocean, and I actually enjoyed it (though some of my travel companion who aren't so much into flying almost had heart attacks!). And as I hear from locals, it is much more reliable than the ferry, which runs on a rather arbitrary schedule. Not for the faint of heart, but it was actually quite fun.

Thanks to Rafael and his wonderful family I have fallen in love with Puerto Rico again. Rafael's vast knowledge of the history of Puerto Rico, religion, and the hot spots across the entire island provided an amazing tour of approximately 75% of the island in our 3 days. Not only did we get to experience the most beautiful areas of the island but also got to enjoy the best of Puerto Rico's culture and food. We felt safe at all times due to Rafael's professional security and previous experience in the US Army. Prior to our arrival, Rafael worked with me to determine a customized travel plan that not only included excursion specifics but also airport transportation, travel assistants, and concierge services. He also reviewed a detailed list of items, such as, age of family members, medical conditions, activity and food restrictions, etc. Rafael is extremely professional, always on time and has great communication skills in both Spanish and English. You can trust his 7 year old son Daniel when he says, "Your wish is his[Rafael] command." Once you get there, they pick you up on a ferry to take you to the boat . The boat travels for about an hour before getting to a private island and that is where you get the guided snorkeling or diving tour depending on what you selected! My friends and I did the snorkeling. As someone who can't swim (I know I know lol) I had a great time. The tour guides were very informative and helpful for all ages and swim levels. They do provide fruit, cold cut sandwiches and rum punch and when you stop . If you're looking for a "party" boat then this may not be for you. We did not receive any type of response back from the shop. We attempted to message on whatsup as requested but still did not receive a confirmation or any type of communication. We flew to San Juan and arrived and immediately went to the shop, we were told to text them and they would get back to us.. we asked directly if they had availability and we were told they would check and get back to us via text.... A day goes by, we attempt to call and no response.. fully we get a text saying they are fully committed...... This was without doubt the worst type of un-reliable customer service and a refusal to communicate.. I would not trust this dive shop or operation. They should never have told us to use to do the course work with their shop and then refuse to complete our certification.
