The crew and experience were great! I went here with my wife and sister in law and Captain Robert, Adrian, Eli and the other crew made us and everyone feel welcome and comfortable. We visited an island with perfect beaches and then went to a coral reef where the crew provided snorkeling gear to people wanting to snorkel. Catamaran cruise. What an amazing experience. We sailed out to an island - about a 30 minute ride. Drinks and music the whole way over. Threw down and anchor and then hung out for like 3 hours before sailing back. Sitting at the front of the boat was my favorite. The 3 guys that made up the crew were all awesome. My cousins & I took the 5+ hour excursion on the Barefoot catamaran. We all really enjoyed ourselves. The crew was AWESOME!!! They were totally on top of things. My family of five had a blast on this tour today. We weren't quite sure what to expect even though they are very clear with you before hand, you just never know. You meet at the morning to depart by 9 and then go to the island and swim, tan, float, whatever lol. They have a large float, snorkeling gear, volleyballs, etc. for you to use as well. The water was so beautiful. The drive was smooth. The drinks were delicious and the staff was amazing. I'm terrible with names but I know Anthony, Richard, and Marcos were on the boat and one other gentlemen. They were all amazing. Marcos was so good with my son and was super engaging with the entire family. They all made sure we always had drinks (non alcoholic too) and provided a really good lunch too that consisted of turkey sandwiches, chip bags, packaged cookies, and really delicious pasta salad. Even my picky eater kids ate it all. After the beach float, you get back on the boat around 12:10 and take a short boat ride down the way to Tortuga Bay (there's no turtles lol) to snorkel. There are tons of fish. There's also Pretty strong current so be prepared for that or only send your best swimmers out. All in all I would definitely recommend this trip and this crew and company specifically! Worth the money and a great memory for our family. Oh yeah, there's a bathroom on board too lol. This was a really fun snorkeling excursion and my group was so glad we booked with Castillo Tours. The event says to arrive by 715 AM and they depart around 8 AM. I would recommend arriving that early to get your gear, apply lotion and getting a covered seat on the catamaran. The excursion ran for about 5 hours. About 2.5 hours at Icacos Beach and another hour snorkeling. The team on board was really professional. The boat was very clean from the gear, drinking/ seating area and the bathroom. Our drinks were constantly being refilled. Comparing our boat with the other ones on the pier, ours was definitely the cleanest one from the exterior. You get the option of Pina colada and soda with rum drinks. For lunch, we were served chips, pesto pasta, peanut free vegetarian pasta and bagged lunches which included cookies and a turkey sandwich. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience on board. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We all felt like we got great value considering it was 5 hours for less than $100 worth of entertainment. We definitely got our $s worth with all of the alcohol and food that we consumed. read more

This is a 5 star tour! Trust the reviews. They take you on a nice ride from the marina out to Icacos Island where you can snorkel, paddle board or just swim around. The water is bright blue (clear) and warm! Lunch and drinks are included and they are very good! The whole staff is amazing. They are super friendly and make sure your drink is never empty. On my way back from San Juan Puerto Rico let's say I loved every second of my trip especially our wonderful snorkeling tour from Castillo Tours. The crew, the drinks, and the food were outstanding, and we all felt safe and well taken care of on our journey. The restroom facilities were clean, safe, and accessible, and our snorkeling spot was first-class. If you fly Drone (like me) there is a chance at the swimming area to take amazing photos and video and please bring your Go-pro or action camera. A waterproof cell phone case is not going to cut it because of the humidity (the case gets foggy). Once back on the boat the crew kept up the drinks, music, and dance back to port. It was truly amazing, and if I ever go back to Puerto Rico, I will do this again! read more

Very disappointed we booked a trip for 10 folks. We received confirmation the day before our trip to be at the dock by 7:30am. We showed up and no one from Castillo's was there. The trip was cancelled via email that morning after trying to reach the business multiple times. The cancellation notice was due to weather as the reason. Two other business's left the dock that morning with full Catamaran's . Buyer Beware. My husband had been counting down to this trip for months and I am so glad he got to do it! We boarded The Barefoot Catamaran and set sail to Cayo Icacos. The crew were super friendly and attentive. Weather made for some rough travel to Icacos and sadly the water wasn't as calm as we hoped this day but nothing that stopped us from enjoying what we could. I do wish he would have anchored a little closer to shore like the other boats out there, it would have been better for many of us to get to the shore that way. Especially the ones who don't swim well. Either way, we made the best of it. Lunch and drinks provided were enough to hit the spot! Music was enjoyable as well! Even got to dance a bit! After some time on the beach, we headed to snorkel. I wish we had more time to snorkel though as that was what we really wanted. Only there for 40 min (I've heard other boats go for 1 - 1/2 hrs. Nonetheless, we enjoyed what we could. There weren't too many fish out that day for some reason but the corals were pretty to see. For the first time, my mother and I decided to take the 4 hour drive from Aguada to Fajardo to go on a snorkeling excursion, and I assure you it will not be the last! It was amazing! Absolutely worth the $65 per person!!! Francis was the bartender on the catamaran we were on (Barefoot, I think was the name) and she was absolutely awesome! All you can drink ALL DAY LONG!!! Our captain and Omar were great too! We were taken to two different reefs at Icacos Island first, then to another private island. The food and drinks on the trip were perfect! Had the good fortune to book a catamaran/snorkeling trip with this outfit and it as the highlight of my trip to Puerto Rico. We were picked up by a shuttle at our hotel in Condado and make a couple of stops along the way to pick up a few more people and made the roughly 45 minute trip to Fajardo. The day started out damp and chilly since a squall was blowing through, but it cleared up before departure and after a brief downpour part of the way in the weather was fantastic. Received the safety briefing, chose our seats and pulled from the dock. Was a really laid back atmostphere but it was clear the crew knew what they were doing. We might have made it about 100 yards from the dock when I had my first pina colada in hand. It was a windy day and the first island we approached the water was really choppy so the captain took us to an alternative spot. The waves settle down, the sun came out. He dropped anchor and the fun began. Flotation devices are provided if requested. After about a hour of exploring the first island, lunch was announced and upon reboarding had a lunch of sandwiches, fruits, salads and more pina coladas, and rum punch. There were also soft drinks and plenty of water on board as well. After lunch they pulled up the anchor and took us to another island for the second half of the trip. The water there was much deeper and I didn't feel comfortable getting too far from the boat so I spent the bulk of my time sacked out on the boat chatting with fellow passengers, sipping cocktails and enjoy the warm, sunny day. It was hell. My wife (who spent much more time in the water) said she saw a lot more fish and sea urchins at the second site than the first. Eventually we had to head back in. The snorkeling was a great side venture on this trip for me. I loved spending the day on a catmaran bobbing around in the tropics. Great crew, good company. A lot of fun and not too risky for a snorkeling neophyte like myself. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. read more

I have some complaints regarding my reservation on October 3, 2020 which made my trip unpleasant. First I was called to be at the meeting  point earlier at 8:15 AM to leave at 8:30 AM, to later find out we were leaving at the original time,9am. We were told we would be leaving and we ended up waiting for another group that was leaving at a later time. They joined the two groups on the same catamaran for their convenience. While we were on the way is when I realized that we weren't visiting the island that we paid for. One of the East Island Excursions employees told me Culebra island is closed as we were passing the island. I was never told during booking that Culebra island was closed even though in the reservation's email we requested Culebra island. Culebra island was confirmed and not Culebrita island by an employee. I thought that it should have been clear that island was closed and I would of decided if we wanted to continue with the reservation. Then I reached out to express my concerns regarding the island being closed and they stated that they made the changes due to choppy waters. In my opinion, the waters were not choppy however you can be the judge of whether or not the waters were choppy by viewing the attached photo. Therefore, as a warning before getting on the catamaran with East Island Excursions/Castillo Tours, make sure you are going to the island you paid for. I demanded some type of refund but was denied. read more

This snorkeling tour with lunch was absolutely the highlight of my Puerto Rico trip! Dont worry if you do not know how to swim for I cant swim myself and I originally booked this tour just to be with my girlfriends since they all wanted to do this, but I decided to go in the water anyways because they provide you with a waist floaty and flippers so you are very safe! After snorkeling they take you to Cayo Icacos beach for about 2.5-2 hours for you to play and lounge around. The crew members were fun, nice and they will hype you up! Free alcohol and non alcoholic drinks all day on the boat. Lunch was very basic but still bomb after a day in the water. Fresh fruits were also put out for you to snack. This is a must do when booking water activities. You wont be disappointed! read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would! 45 min catamaran ride out to an uninhabited island. The entire time we were sipping on free rum drinks. Once at the most amazing beach I have ever seen, you get to snorkel for 1 hour. Then a hand prepared sandwich bar for lunch. After great food (and more drinks) it is back to the beach for another hour. Finally, you travel out to more open water for some deep water snorkeling. I booked the El Yunque Rainforest Half-Day Trip from San Juan on Viator. I was picked up at my hotel in Condado at the promised time of 8am in a Ford passenger van - a nice large one you can stand up in. After three more hotel stops the van was full. The driver, a New York native, was the actual tour guide and after this third hotel took us directly to the rain forest. At the rain forest the tour consisted of 3 stops and 1 unofficial stop: 1) Observation tower: Here we were able to get out of the van and go up in the Yokahu Tower. From here you could overlook the rain forest and see clear to the ocean. There were also bathrooms and a gift shop. This is a rather busy area and a parking lot is right at the base of the tower to allow tour companies and people who drove themselves to park here. After time in the tower we sat on a bench near the parking lot and heard history from the guide. The guide talked about some of the trees and plants and about history in general. Not all of the information was really rain forest specific, but it was all interesting. 2) Old pool and "hike:" We stopped again and got off to view what used to be a swimming pool. From here we began a 5 minute hike on our own while the guide went to drive the van to the point where the short trail ended so he could pick us up. It was the best 5 minutes of the trip and I wish I had been able to do more of this, but on the tour that was not possible. 3) Waterfall: We stopped again in a very public area of the park. There was again a gift shop and a parking lot to allow tour companies and people who drove themselves to park. There were some rocks you could climb on for a photo closer to the waterfall, but no swimming at this waterfall (another tour did offer a swimming option at a different water fall). The waterfall was cool, but it was the kind of waterfall where the water cascades flat down against a rock face. 4) Lunch: This wasn't part of the tour, but everyone voted to stop at a place along the side of the road in the rain forest. There was again - surprise - a gift shop as well as fried foods and things like empanadas available. All in all the tour wasn't bad for what it offered, but it left me disappointed. I would highly recommend renting a car to get yourself to the rain forest so you can explore at your own pace. There is a 2hr one way trail that I would have liked to hike to the highest point in the rain forest. To me the only thing the tour provided aside from some history was transportation. I would highly recommend this company add a tour that includes or solely features the major hike to the highest peak. Rating this activity is hard. It included what it said it would, but I ended up discovering that this was not the most ideal way to explore the rain forest. If you just want to tick the box of having been to El Yunque off this is a great way to do it. I'm not a tour hater. I'm not a hater of groups, but if you have any explorer in you, this tour isn't for you. read more
