I have been bringing my daughter here for a number of years and cannot say enough good things about it. She plays for a competitive level Girls 03 team and she has really benefited from the extra training and skill clinics that are offered here at Catalyst. Let's start with the skill clinics. They offer a variety of skill clinics nearly every day of the week and they rotate monthly so your child does not get in a rut. The coaching staff is extremely knowledgeable and they each a different skill set. They really care about these kids and offer an excellent balance of enthusiasm and support while "pushing" them in an appropriate manner. They treat each child with respect regardless of ability and longevity of play. The clinics are split by age groups so my daughter is always challenged by peers her own age. They keep the classes small and give a lot of one on one attention. Private lessons are available and the old adage of "you get what you pay for" rings true. The privates aren't cheap but are well worth it. The private trainers are well rounded in their knowledge and will work on what your child needs to and not try to just sell package deals. We are on a pretty tight budget but the privates are well worth the extra money. My daughter is currently working with Kathleen on her running form and just a couple of tiny tweaks have taken her game to a whole new level. She has worked with nearly all the trainers and has not complained once. Her favorite saying is from Bobby and she reminds me often -"Practice does not make perfect. perfect practice makes perfect." Lastly, the owners Alicia and Matt are fantastic. They are always friendly and can be very accommodating to special situations. It's a great place and I highly recommend it to beginners all the way up to semi-pros. read more

My son has been training one-on-one with TCTC for over a year now. Because of the customized training sessions, he's able to keep up with, and even outplay, players older than him. The coaches at TCTC are all super attentive and sincerely work hard to improve their players' game. It's been amazing to watch my son's skills improve throughout the season. Many parent haves asked us where our son gets his excellent ball-handling skills. I can only attribute it to his personal training sessions with Coach Eric at TCTC. I highly recommend TCTC to all parents who want to give their child an edge on their game! read more

I think this is a place that does a good job teaching kids serious about soccer the building blocks of this sport. I don't love their new computer system used for signing in to the classes. I don't find it intuitive. But I guess it does the job. I do think they have some great coaching here. Another plus is that you can head to the St. Archer's brewery next door for a few tastes and head a little further and get a bite to eat. read more

Soccer is my favorite sport. I'm not a great player but I'm not a beginner either. Their adult clinics are perfect for me. Just the right amount of fitness and skill practice. The instructors are knowledgeable and nice. Great place! read more

I first signed my 9-year old daughter up for a spring break half-day week long training camp and she really enjoyed it. Then a full-day week long summer training camp and she again had a terrific time. She asked for more training so I signed her up for a 24 session one-on-one custom training program. No surprise, she loves it. I can see some major improvement with her drive, speed, and skill levels. We've been through ten of the 24 sessions and my daughter has trained with Alicia, Couch, Melissa, and Kaycee. Everyone has been spectacular. I simply cannot give enough praise for their program and the people themselves. My daughter is not at all aggressive, but I'm starting to see her play during the games beginning to come alive with confidence, thinking, and follow through. During the custom training program, the trainer takes notes and evaluates during each session. This information is passed onto the next trainer for each session. The trainer then provides s a mini report to the parent at the conclusion of each session. Every session is a positive experience for both my daughter and me. Seeing the steps of improvement brings a smile to my face every time we go. Lastly, the big take away is that she is having fun while gaining speed, skill, and confidence. read more

Great facility for soccer training in any weather. The variety of clinics taught on a nightly basis specifically focusing on various skills and techniques are great. Having age specific time slots helps with getting kids of similar size and skill level together. We did the unlimited monthly sessions deal and were very happy with it. read more

Great facility, friendly and very professional staff. I play on Sunday's pick up games. It only cost $5 per player for pick ups matches and you get a great workout. read more

At this point my son has been training at the Catalyst Training Center for over a year. The coaching staff is awesome and really show they care about my son's development as a player. He has participated in the clinics, camps, Futsal league and of course the custom program. Without a doubt he has become a better player as a result of the excellent coaching he is getting!! read more

Played two seasons now in the HS league for Winter and both times were shorted weeks of play time. First time it was supposed to be 8 weeks and it was 7....this past time it was only 6. Sorry if I pay for 8 I'd like to get 8 or change the price. Maybe for their competitive stuff they are great but for their HS futsal leagues it leaves something to be desired. When I emailed them about it I received no response. Definitely leaves a lot to be desired. read more

My daughter has been training with Alicia and Coach Couch for over a year now. She really enjoys it and is always really tired after her sessions. Her speed has improved and she has also gained in strength. The training is a mix of Soccer and fitness and has been a great boost for my daughters confidence. I would recommend this to everyone and we will be signing up for another 36 sessions! read more

This is a great place to learn soccer skills. I have attended the adult soccer clinics and it's great. I also enjoy working out at their gym. read more

My kids did 2 month of soccer clinic at Catalyst Training Center. I think he improved his skills a lot. I would definitely do it again when I have time. The only drawback for me is the 5:00 pm starting time. It would be much better if it is slightly later. read more

My son attends the soccer skills clinic and is making great improvements. The coaches are fantastic and the Catalyst Training Center is a great training facility that I highly recommend. read more

Great coaches and friendly atmosphere, also very clean facility and lots of space to practice

Loved our training session at TCTC, coaches were super attentive, and great at what they do! Can't wait to get our athlete back in there!

This place is great. My son doesn't get the interaction with his team coach due to the size of the team and the amount of time the kids get to practice. He attends the group training a couple times a week and I noticed the positive results in the first couple of weeks of TCT working with him. The coaches are great and even take the time to explain to the parents about what they covered after each practice. read more

Read the website, they deliver on their promises. Been bringing my 10/yo child there for a year now and have never had a disappointing session. Every trainer there knows what they are doing. read more

This camp has been amazing. Not only are the coaches well skilled, they are great with the kids. The husband and wife team run the camp smoothly and keep everything on track. My two boys have enjoyed every bit of it! They are learning new skills and made new friends. Highly recommend this program to all soccer players. Skills only get better. read more

My daughter has been coming here on an off for the past 4 years for personal training. I cannot say enough great things about the coaches here! For us it is worth the drive from North County as we have paid for other trainers who were closer, cheaper, and in the end felt as though they were just going through the motions of pointless drills. Every time we end our sessions, my daughter feels as though she has learned something new, or enhanced something that was a bit rusty. As long as my daughter continues to play, I will continue to bring her here to train...without a doubt! read more

I have done two sets of private soccer lessons (GREAT deal on groupon, believe me!) for my nine year old. he did 6 one-hour lessons each time. I will quote him "Dad, I love it!" In addition to making sure the kids have fun, they really push him to excel. I played a lot of soccer, so I can see my son's flaws. They target very specific skills, and he HAS improved with just 12 hours. He has had about 5 different male and female coaches, and liked them all. All the coaches are good players, but more importantly, very good at imparting their skills to kids in a positive way. The space is actually indoors, so no worries on rain-outs, and there is plenty of room to do all the drills you need to do. It's about a 15 minute drive from downtown SD. Bonus: Since I don't like to hover there and watch the whole lesson (my son gets distracted if I am there) I found that both Green Flash Brewing and White Labs beer tasting rooms are less than 10 minutes away, just enough time to grab a pint or two while the lesson is going on. I highly recommend this for youth soccer lesson. I personally can verify they do get results, and my son loves going. What more could you ask for? read more

My daughter has been going for almost a year now, and I have seen great improvement in her game. Not only is she has she grown physically, in strength and speed, she has also grown mentally, in understanding her position, and what is expected of her on the soccer field. Workouts with Alicia and Matt are hard work, and my daughter usually comes out drenched in sweat. She may not always want to go, but she is always appreciated afterwards that she went. Thank you TCTC, for teaching and showing her that with hard work comes rewards. Something, she probably knew at a mental/rational level, but now its more ingrained in her soul because of your efforts. If you want your kids to be in great condition, and learn excellent soccer skills, then this is the place for them. read more

I just attended my first Adult Foundational Soccer Skills Clinic and was impressed by it. Will continue to attend this regularly for sure.

This place is the real deal, could not recommend more highly. Totally customized workout & soccer skills training plans at a reasonable price. Our 10-year-old comp soccer player showed measurable improvement right away and really looks forward to going to Catalyst, even though the sessions are hard. No-nonsense but fun, what a great combo! read more
