Dr. "Gena" Sullos is the lead veterinarian and owner of Cat Doctors. She is also a noteworthy, skilled "cat whisperer" by all accounts. Her business is an exceedingly stellar, feline-only practice located in the heart of Santa Barbara. Her clinic is a Gold Certified Cat-Friendly Practice and specializes exclusively in feline health and wellness. We confirm this fact firsthand. All of our cats LOVE Dr. Gena.
This type of specialized feline practice is such a rare, genuine "luxury" for cats and their owners. Our cats ADORE Dr. Gena - with one in particular ("Bubba Stump") fully obsessed with her and her office. He would live there in a heartbeat. He gets excited if we mention her name without spelling it. Truly. If we ask if her wants to go to her office - he begins the classic "ragdoll spin" and looks for his transport carrier. Dr. Gena is that special.
In all of my years, I've never met a more sincere, caring, or masterful veterinarian. She is gentle, patient, and sincerely understanding. She is also cerebral to the cusp of Mensa. She asks the best questions - and knows her craft inside and out. Her rates are fair, competitive, and greatly appreciated. We always leave her office filled with a deep sense of gratitude for the care she extends, and a feeling of duty to the best care we are able to provide. She is also very inclusive and interactive with her patient's "human" counterparts. She is as "genuine" as they come. Sincerity is a difficult emotion to fake.
Her staff has consistency - which is key (and a telltale sign of a healthy work environment). Jenny, Jessica, and Dr. Gena's assistant "Mo" always make us feel like family. The office is beautifully intimate, with two well thought-out exam rooms. Both have large glass cutout doors. Our cats appreciate this, as they can see what's going on outside their room. There is a safe box under the chairs for uneasy and nervous patients. The exam table is the perfect height, with a soft towel for the felines to relax atop.
She is exceedingly gentle with our cats, all rescues. She fully understands their guarded and cautious behavior. She is empathetic and caring. Truly worth every penny she charges - and then some. The valuation for product ratio and overall experience is both fair and balanced. She works tirelessly to provide the absolute BEST care possible. She answers the phone, and every question pertaining to our cat's visit, results, and specialized care.
She also stocks necessities and food (especially for such specific dietary needs). She is competitive with all area and online competitors. We prefer to obtain our cat's necessary dietary recommendations and prescribed products directly through her office (for the sheer convenience of it, if nothing else). She is progressive in her field of practice, always in step with new information and advancements. We feel blessed and honored to have such a brilliantly talented veterinarian. Santa Barbara is assuredly special, yet even (much) MORE so - with Dr. Gena seeing patients on De La Vina.
