I like to visit Castlepoint as it hosts most of my shopping needs in the one place. There is plently of free parking on two levels and all the shops on the uper floor are protected from the rain slightly so you wont get wet if it's raining when you visit. There are shops ranging from supermarkets to coffee shops with plenty of fashion shops dotted around and a couple of shoe shops. All the shops are larger than town centre shops in size so it's almost like their main store being held at CastlePoint, which is attractive in itself. read more

On number of times. I was held back by the traffic in the car park and I could not get out the car park for over an hour. On one occasion a year ago I was stuck there and could not get out of the car park for over 2 hours. The manager did not even bother to seek out for a solution when people were stuck there. If I were the manager, I would have treated this as a very important issue because nobody would like to be held back when it is the time they need to leave for whatever reasons. I was extremely burdened in my heart when I saw some mums had their infants in the cars and they were crying their heads off. They could be very hungry? What was the management there for? I would guide the traffic to flow and would never let the traffic be jammed up the 2 exits from all directions of the car park. The Castle Point Shopping park concept isn't a bad idea at all, but the design and the management do fail people. I wonder how the planning was passed by the council in the first place and why there is still no apparent solutions to the problem after a long time. The whole building structure has a serious fault and there are no infrastructure to support the heavy flow of traffics. The whole thing could have pulled down and could have been re-built by now with an improved design before someone got killed or got injured seriously. The traffic should be controlled by automatic traffic light guided by satellite. The exits should be leading to the main roads by extended the briges instead of leading the traffic to a grid lock with the traffic coming out from the ground level. It is all about common sense, isn't it? Training on some staff to cope with the anticipated traffic jams is neccessary, I think the mangement has not been proactive enough. The shopping hours could be extended on some days and in certain period of time to alleviate the problem to some extent. Castlepoint is every shoppers dream as it has a vast choice of shops, clothes, books, audio, dvds, games argos is also there.. as well as supermarkets all in one area. car parking is available but at busy times can be a nightmare as its situted in a very busy area. buses to the point are easy to catch in winton and bournemouth. And when your feet start to hurt there is a good choie of food and drink places available. read more

Castlepoint as a whole is one of those love it or hate it places. My friends are divided on the whole subject and with the problems the site has had since its opening who can blame them, but for me personally I enjoy shopping there. It has plenty of shops from boots to TK Maxx, Gap to Sainsbury's and it is all easily accessible from their large FREE car park. One thing that is noticeable is the cleanliness of the whole area with cleaners on hand at all times the place (nine times out of ten) looks spic and span. There is one downfall with the wonderful world of Castlepoint and that is traffic. At busy times the area does clog up, but if you can avoid rush hour you could well be on for a great shopping trip. read more

This is a great place to visit on a weekday evening as the shops are open until 8pm and they are reasonably quiet. I would avoid this place on a weekend or Bank Holiday as the poorly laid out car park causes chaos at peak times, meaning it can take up to an hour to leave. There is a range of shops from supermarkets (Asda, Sainsburys) to womens clothes shops. There is an abundance of disabled spaces but I would recommend parking on the top floor as the building doesn't have a good history. read more

Castlepoint is a large shopping centre just outsdie Bournemouth off the A338. It isn't an indoor centre, but with so many quality retailers such as Argos, Next, Gap, B&Q, Gap, Sainsbury and more all grouped together it does make shopping that much easier. The car park is free and extensive despite the construction and repair problems, but at peak times the whole area and surrounding roads quickly become gridlocked. That said, it's a great place to shop. read more

Castlepoint locaed on castle lane in Bournemouth. Ideal if you want to come straight off the A338 and down the road into the centre. Beware though, as it can get very snarled up down the road leading to castlepoint at weekends, and even weekdays. Getting out of the car park can be a real issue, and oftem i have lost my patience and gone into town instead as free parking isn't all it's made up to be! A decent range of shops on offer, but not much you wouldn't find in town, just less of them! A hour or two is about your limit here, and then you've finshed all of the shops, so may be worth going somehere else for anything fancy. read more

I live very close to Castle point and I probably visit it every day! I love castle poijnt because it has every shop that need and can nearly always get everything I want in one trip. There are a huge array of shops and a massive marks and spencers and Next. There are only a few cafes available and the restaurants are situated a little way from the shops. the car park is huge but gets very congested and it is propped up by so many supports that spaces are tight. You need to allow plenty of time in peak times to get out of the centre as access is not good. the shopping centre is outdoors but has a large overhang which shelters you from the rain on wet days! read more

i love castlepoint purely for the fact it has every shop i need within close range of each other and plenty of free parking. It is better than bournemouth as you do not have to traipse up and down either side of the hill and many of the shops are much bigger and newer. The staff are very helpful and there are numerous extra shops unique to castlepoint, for example thorntons cafe, which is delicious! and you benfit from having every product under one roof, (eg next has its home section and h&m has its children and toddler section) read more

Castlepoint is very easy just to pop into quickly to get something. The stores have long opening hours, most until 8 pm, some until 9- 10 pm. Usually always spaces very close to the shops and free parking always. It has an Asda and Sainsburys at either end which is very useful just to pop and get some food shopping. It also includes a large Next and Marks and Spencer along with most of the Arcadia group (excluding BHS, although BHS Home can be found in the Retail park opposite) It has a few restaurants and cafes. read more

I do the weekly shop at Castlepoint and have finally worked out that there is a system to get out of the car park when it is really congested. Even if you are parked near the Asda end, you need to drive around to the Sainsbury's far end and join the queue for the roundabout at the exit. This way you are only battling cars coming in to get out rather than other cars also trying to exit. As a shopping park I find that Castlepoint is really good for clothes shopping and food shopping which is great as in Bournemouth town centre, you have to traipse to the Lansdowne to get to Asda. read more

I am a woman and Castlepoint is my favourite place to shop for clothes. It has many great mid priced to expensive shops such as Gap, M&S, Next, Monsoon/Accesorize, Principles, Wallis, River Island and Clarks. I find i can spend alot of money those shops though so i tend to go to the 'cheaper' shops more often such as H&M, New Look, TKMaxx, Miss Selfridge and Dotty P's to pick up some good quality bargains. For mens shops there are Topman, Burton, Next, M&S, RI, Tk Maxx and JD sports. Personally I think there is just the right amount of shops and not too much choice when spending a day out clothes shopping as i spend too much time trying things on in the dressing rooms! It also has a nice choice for eating out or 'stopping for a coffee' with Nero (in waterstones) Costa (in whsmith), Nandos, M&S cafe and Thorntons Cafe (yum!). It even has a sainsburys cafe and mcdonalds (in asda) if you have splurged all of your spending money on clothes. I love coming here in january for the sales, the only thing i think is missing is Primark and for that reason i have rated 4/5 rather than 5/5. Quite a good open air shopping centre just outside the centre of Bournemouth. Plenty of shops - a huge M&S, TK Maxx, Sainburys, Asda, B&Q, Monsoon, Next, H&M, Thorntons (Cafe), Robert Dyas, 3, Gap, WHSmith, Waterstones & more. Free parking which is rare for Bournemouth. Only downsides are: no decent cafe's in the heart of the shops (Frankie & Benny's & Nando's nearby), Thorntons cafe/M&S/Waterstones/WHSmith cafe's just coffee & cake etc. Or McDonalds or Sainsburys cafe which are not exactly ideal, let's face it! The car park gets full really quickly at peak times, and still doesn't feel that safe downstairs despite years of maintenance! read more

this is a shopping centre of mianly clothes and food, but the shops are much bigger than those on your average high street. the parking is something to be desired, and is an art, but you can tell it has been designed by a computer and not a human. seasonal is the worst time. if you go, leave before 4pm and you can get out easily, after 4pm, you will be stuck with everyone trying to get out. i would avoid this place on saturdays and when it is raining! the bonus is, the shops close at 8pm weekdays, perfect for that last minute friday night outfit. Asda is 24hrs and sainsbury closes at 10pm. seasonal times are different. this would be perfect if there were other shops other than main high street clothing stores and the parkin needs some serious looking into!.. read more
