Located on the main street in Newtown the 'Castle' is in a prime position for drinkers on a night out, its one of the biggest pubs in town and gets very busy on the weekend. Its very popular with young and old and is open until the early hours with a disco some nights. One point i think the pub is missing is that it doesn't open during the daytime, and i think if it did it would do a roaring trade especially if they did food? read more

This is the Brewery Tap for Monty's ales. Old building but really brought up to date inside…read more Advertising 8 real ales (5 of their own plus guests such as titanic White Ster) plus a draught Perry from The Malvern Hills Brewery. The ales were lovely especially the Montys Sunshine 3 rooms with large bar at front, welcoming staff and very clean and new looking. This looks to be the best in Newtown for ale choice.
