Our son has now been in Castle Top Nursery for six years having started at 6 months old and presently attending the before and after school club. As such we feel we are well placed to offer a review of Castle Top Nursery. As new parents we were naturally anxious that our little boy receive the best care and development while we were at work. My wife is a teacher and was well aware of what to look for. From the outset we recognised Castle Top as being a very warm and welcoming place. The staff are very welcoming and career deeply for the welfare of the children. The relationship our son has developed with the staff has been one of trust and confidence, and as a result his development benefitted considerably. Throughout his full time pre-school attendance from 6 months old we felt that the staff engaged us as a family and were always keen to report on what our sone hand been doing, as well as his developmental progress. Each child had a progress file it was clear that the level of interaction with staff and the activities undertaken to help child development and enjoyment of the learning experience was both considerable and well documented. 6 years on, our experience with Castle Top has been excellent. We have got to know the staff very well and recognise the strength of the team working there. The same staff who were there when our one started at 6 months old are working there now and their enthusiasm for the wellbeing of our child and all the other children at the nursery has never been more evident. Our son has always been happy at Castle Top and to this day enjoys his time there. he has made good friends and is a very sociable little boy who's time at Castle Top and undoubtedly stood him in good stead as an excellent start in life. We hope to have another child in the near future and we would not hesitate to place our little one in the care of the fantastic staff at Castle Top. Our heartfelt and genuine gratitude go to Vicky and Caroline, as well as all the staff who have had a hand in caring for our child. Keep up the good work. A well deserved 5 stars from us. The G's. As a foot note ........We have read the review by Mummysunshine M and can state with absolute confidence that we do not recognise any of the negative comments made in the review as being true. Quite the opposite. The report of staff being on phones and Facebook is in our experience absolutely false (staff phones are locked away during working time), we have always been greeted by staff on arrival to drop off and collect our child (access can only be granted by a member of staff) and the claims about TV being used as a baby-sitter are utterly wrong. The nature of MM's comments leads us to question the motive of the review and believe it to be unfounded and possibly of malicious intent. I have been involved with Castle Top since 2008. Both my boys have attended here and my youngest son still does. I have found them so helpful, friendly and approachable. I could not rate this nursery enough as for the negative comment received it is utter tosh. I have never once not been informed if either of my boys have had an accident they even call me when my youngest who is very clumsy has a fall. As for the events they do with the children is brilliant. Always something going on keeping them entertained. I take my hat of to each and everyone of you. Both my boys have had special bonds with the staff which makes you feel that they are being loved and looked after. As for the learning aspect my eldest had attended since he was one and is now in all top sets at his school and I truly believe this is down to the girls at Castle top helping him and guiding him with his early years. The facility's they have for the children playing out is second to none as both boys have always wanted to go back at the weekend just to go and play in the playground with the bikes and scooters. If I ever decide to have another child which I doubt ( ha ha) I would have no doubt in mind that I would use Castle Top once again. read more

My children have attended this nursery for many years and I have been more than happy with the quality of care provided. On arrival staff greet both my children and I and are very welcoming. As i am self employed i pick my children up at different times of the day and not once have i seen them stuck in front of the TV so mummysunshine m is clearly leaving misleading information. My children often want to stay at nursery as they have so much fun and ask to go in on their days of, to me this proves how amazing this nursery is. The most important thing in a child's life is happiness when having to be without their parents and this is what this nursery offers. I have built strong relationships with all staff and managers as the staff turn around is excellent with many staff having been there for over ten years. I can proudly say they have become friends and I highly recommend castle top nursery as being the best around providing our children with the best start in education, providing excellent learning journeys which make amazing keepsakes and truly caring for the welfare and happiness of both the children and their parents. read more

My daughter who is now 9 went to this nursery from when she was 1 until she was 4 years old. My son who is three has been at castle Top since he was 1 year old. The nursery is lovely and well managed. My son enjoys being a little learner and tells me all about his day, he is a typical boy and loves the nurserys well equipped outdoor area and weekly visit from a tots football coach. When my son started he did find it difficult to leave me in the morning, but staff were really good at making sure he soon settled in by talking to him about his favourite things (ninja turtles) and when I phoned to check on him, just for my own peace of mind, the nursery staff always told me exactly what he was doing and if he had settled quickly ect. I am kept informed about my sons time at nursery with regular chats when I pick him up, parents days where I get told all about his early learning and he has a file of all of the things he has learnt. Reading the review we are alarmed at the allegations as we take every effort with the utmost of care to ensure that not only our children but our parents are more than satisfied with the environment and high standard of care that we are proud to provide at Castle Top. No issues have been raised directly with us and no children have stopped coming to the Nursery since this review has been published, which leads us question the validity of this review.
