Woodhouse Day Spa prides themselves on offering a tranquil, transformational environment that's…read moreboth memorable & healthful. We visited for a couple's massage as an early Valentine's Day treat. Upon arrival, my husband and I were greeted by the lovely staff at the front desk. We got checked in and we're brought back to the spa's locker rooms. We were given luxurious robes and reflexology sandals to change into. We changed and locked our clothes & belongings in private lockers. Once robed-up all nice & cozy, we headed to the Relaxation Room.  Woodhouse Day Spa, Castle Pines recommends you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your treatment to get situated & enjoy the Relaxation Room. If you are a new client, they recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your treatment. The Relaxation Room was dimly lit with a fireplace and numerous, comfy seating options. The staff brought us two glasses of champagne as a nice celebratory touch to date night. We then got ourselves some tea & water and settled into two lounge chairs to relax and mentally unwind prior to our massages.  Our masseuses fetched us right on schedule and led us to the couple's massage room. The room was softly lit by a lovely little chandelier; two massage tables graced the middle of the space.  My masseuse, Rachel asked about any problem areas I'd like her to focus on during my Swedish Massage. After a quick chat, Rachel and her counterpart left us to de-robe and get under the blankets on the heated tables.  When Rachel returned, my 50-minute Swedish Massage began - it was nothing short of amazing. The Swedish Massage is a classic stress-relieving massage that utilizes long, flowing strokes to reduce tension, increase circulation, and induce relaxation. Rachel worked her magic and used long, rhythmic strokes to relax my muscles (I store a lot of tension in my neck & shoulders, so she really focused on those areas and loosened them up beautifully). The Swedish Massage was full body, so I started on my stomach and flipped over to my back halfway through the treatment. Our massages completely zen'd us out. We both were more or less melting into the tables, completely at peace. The heavenly 50 minutes flew by. Rachel and her counterpart left us to robe back up & brought us water. Then we were led back to the Relaxation Room. The epitome of tranquility; such a refreshing & romantic evening.

Unfortunately, I did not receive the Holistic Body Detox (Dry) - 80 Min treatment as advertised. It was not full-body--only about two-thirds of my legs were treated, and my stomach was skipped entirely. The dry brushing was so light that it barely touched my skin, so there was little to no exfoliation. The draping also made the experience awkward. When I turned over, the therapist held the blankets so tightly over me that it was difficult and uncomfortable to move beneath them. Finally, the towels smelled unclean, as though they hadn't been properly sanitized, which detracted from the spa experience. While I appreciated the kindness of both Celis and the manager, I still spent nearly two hours there and left disappointed because the service did not match what I had booked.

Great place to unwind and relax with a good companion. the check-in process was kinda slow,…read moreconsidering that we were the only people there. You're asked to arrive 30 minutes early, and we sat around the entire 30 minutes, then finally they walked us through the how-to of it all. the staff is really friendly and the place is clean and well appointed. it was a nice experience, but very indulgent. i don't believe the price is worth it, esp at $1/ounce on the beer & the 90-minute time limit in the room, when one wants to bounce around from sauna to cold shower to hot tub (not necessarily in that order), etc. plus time for dressing and undressing. the anti-gravity massage chairs are also an extra add-on, which i find a bit extreme. overall, we enjoyed ourselves and disappearing from the outside world was rather nice, but it's definitely a one-off, or an annual experience at best. Checking out was equally slow. The host was giving a lady a demonstration on the beer bar and he could have kindly asked to be excused to check us out, but instead he let us sit for over 15 minutes as he gave the gal samples.

As lovely as the common area and patio are, it belies the relaxation that awaits in your private spa room. Before you are escorted to your room, you are offered your choice of locally made beer (My favorite was the "beer flavored beer", which tasted like.... Beer), as well as wine, kombucha, juice, or seltzer water. The drinks are served in a stainless steel insulated tumbler so you don't have to worry about breaks or spills. There are also complimentary snacks available including banana chips and an absolutely delicious savory trail mix. There's also a bathtub full of plastic "bubbles" (think 'grown-up ball pit', but a bathtub) in the common area which invites you to take your most Instagrammable shot. The spa even has a monthly competition for the best photo submission. I appreciate the intentionality with which this spa was designed. Truly they thought of (almost) everything: Hair ties, shower caps, hair dryers, plastic bags for wet clothes, their beer infused shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion offered both in the private room as well as in the common areas, a pitcher of water on the edge of the tub (Because one cannot live off of beer alone).... Even conversation cards containing thought provoking questions placed strategically throughout the facility (Even in your private infrared spa). This is not just an opportunity to relax, but to deepen connection. I came here with one of my friends and in addition to feeling infinitely more relaxed, I left here feeling like my friend and I got to know each other on a much more substantive and meaningful level as a result of this experience. Now before you ask... No, you are not soaking in a tub full of beer. (That was my initial concern, and I almost passed on visiting this spa because of said concern). Instead, you are soaking in a deep stainless steel soaking tub that is full of water and infused with your choice of herbs and aromatics. The room also comes with a CBD infused bath bomb, as well as a CBD and mushroom infused mud mask for extra relaxation and detoxification. The water temperature was absolutely perfect: Nice and steamy but not too hot. The soaking experience was simply not long enough... Which is not a slight to the staff or the facility at all. Just a testament to how relaxing the experience is. I could have stayed there soaking all day without a care in the world. Once we reached the end of our soaking experience, the tub started to automatically drain on its own. We used that time to shower, moisturize, and proceed to the next part of our spa experience... The massage room. The room is dark with small twinkling lights on the ceiling that kinda look like stars and the night sky. There are several zero-gravity massage chairs in the room, but do not be mistaken... These are NOT your run-of-the-mill nail salon pedicure spa chairs. These massage chairs mean business! Even on the lowest setting, my muscles were still sore for several days afterwards because that kneading function gets all up in those muscle fibers. Several times I found myself breathing through the massage like I was having contractions... Especially as those rollers made repeated passes over my lower back. It was definitely the most thorough and intense chair massage I have ever received. Each of the staff members we encountered was absolutely wonderful; Friendly and welcoming, answered all of our questions, gave us plenty of time to take pictures and video to capture the moment and really make the most of the spa experience. Our drinks were never empty and our every need was provided for. The only piece of feedback I have to offer is that it would be great if there were swimsuit dryer spinner on site. I was flying back home immediately after my spa experience and I had to bring my sopping wet swimsuit back with me. I double bagged it to make sure it didn't leak all over the place, but it would have been great to dry it out a bit before putting it back in my suitcase. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It's likely the most unique spa experience you will ever have... Even if you are not a beer enthusiast.
