Just had the displeasure of having to take apart a frame done by Castle Frames as the print inside it had slipped. When we originally had the print framed, it was wonky, so we took it back and after some insistence that it was indeed straight, they agreed to re-do it.Fast forward a year, print has come unstuck from the mount and slipped so I ask my (artist) father to help. He know about these things.Firstly, really bad quality tape used to seal frame. Secondly, back board is fixed with staples! Half of which don't actually do anything, they are just there. Once we'd prized out the staples we discovered a lack of any backing sheet and the print was actually fixed to the mount by two tiny torn off pieces of tape. No wonder it slipped. Mount had been cut so tightly there was absolutely no tolerance at all for adjusting it.
We paid a hefty price to get this expensive print framed. Total cowboy job, I won't ever go there again. read more
