This place is located in the most beautiful neighborhood in CDMX, the amazing Colonia Condesa. It's location is picture perfect, both inside and out. The plants and lighting just make this place an Instagramer's paradise. Decor-pretty awesome decor inside and out. Service-good service, just like the rest of Mexico. They were attentive and ready when we needed them. Food-delicious flavors and dishes were well put together. I felt the plates were a bit on the small side, and a bit over priced, but they were not lacking flavor. Sopa de Pescado y Mariscos-4.5/5 stars. It's a soup packed with flavor, but small in size. Hamburguesa de Rabo de Toro-5/5 stars! It's very flavorful, the oxtail patty was juicy and it had a distinct taste, the roasted peppers and aioli was perfect on the burger. The fries were perfectly fried and salted to perfection. Picaña de Res Black Angus a la parrilla, Papas Fritas y Cebolla Asada-4/5 stars. Meat wasn't as tender as I expected it to be. The flavor was ok, I feel like it could've used additional season and could've been cooked a bit more, it was cold to be ordered medium. This place was upscale and in the best location in CDMX. I'd be back soon.

    Patatas bravas

Good food, cute classic CDMX vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. Anchovies in vinegar 3.5/5 - served over potato chips. Anchovies very on point. You'd love this if you're a salt & vinegar chip person (I'm not but still enjoyed this) Burrata salad 3/5 - good but not mindblowing. As expected, nothing too special Truffle cheese stuffed pumpkin flowers tempura 5/5 - the star of the night! Topped with a bit of caviar this is an umami bomb with cheese Crunchy baby artichokes 3.5/5 - good but nothing special. Patatas bravas 3/5 - hefty portion, decent flavor, nothing special. Some were crispy others weren't as crispy. Arroz negro (black rice) with baby squid and prawns - 4.5/5. Such a touch too salty but otherwise bomb! Lots of seafood too, even tiny scallops. Galician way octopus 4/5 - served over potatoes. Cooked well, good flavor. braised oxtail 4/5 - served over potatoes. Same cooked very well, tender meat, good flavor

Lovely location and nicely decorated inside. The greenery on the ceiling and with the selected furniture creates a calm and inviting atmosphere. The waitstaff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Truly great service. We got the patatas bravas (very delicious) and quite a portion for sharing. Also the tortilla de patatas with truffle oil. Didn't really taste any truffle flavor. The texture was so soft and melted in your mouth. Also huge portion. My friend and I only ate half and took the other half to go. Crudo was also fresh. Added some Tabasco for more kick. Drinks were SO cute. And tasty. Highly recommend to check it out!! Clean, new, and inviting!

Beautiful venue and attentive staff - just boring, flavorless, food. Had high hopes for this place but we all thought the food was very bland and basic. It wasn't overly expensive but street food would have been better and way cheaper.

Merkava is a beautiful little restaurant in La Condesa with both indoor and outdoor seating. As mentioned, we were tired from traveling and picked the cool, indoor seating and enjoyed the nice decor. We started with hummus and, not realizing it came with pita, also ordered the house bread. The hummus was a huge portion, enough to feed a group of 7-8 and came with a pouch of several warm pitas. The hummus was homemade and a bit chunky. The house bread was even better, coils of bread with tahini butter, serrano chili oil, and a tomato cumin sauce. The bread was fantastic, warm from being freshly baked and with buttery layers and the variety of dipping sauces was pleasant for dipping. A show-stopper of a dish was the whole roasted cauliflower served with zaatar, yogurt, and mint. Our head was cut into manageable portions for us, but interestingly, they served the adjacent table with a whole head for a more dramatic presentation. The cauliflower was tender and its mild flavor was enhanced by the zaatar spices. The fish of the day was the better of the two entrees. We liked the sauteed vegetables with lentils that it was served with, much like a ratatouille with lentils, along with a parsley sauce and grilled lemon. The wagyu kebabs were an odd texture, crumbled and dry. The restaurant provided a complimentary bite of dessert, a fruit (date, apricot) baklava of sorts that was a sweet bite to end the meal. All in all, we had a good meal at Merkava.

Started the meal with a romaine salad, to which I asked to add a side of grilled chicken. The chicken was grilled to a wonderful golden point, and the seasoning of the salad went along perfectly with the almonds on it. The crispy pork (Lechón lechal) was sublimely tender. In fact, the cubes were perfectly crisped, and yet the meat broke down like silk when cut. The complement of the red wine soaked pear, the sweet potato purée, and the dried fruits made this a light and satisfying meal, bite after bite! I had a seriously hard time trying to pick a dessert from so many great choices! Ultimately I went for the pistachio cake with passion fruit sauce, because by then I already trusted that every offering in this place is thoughtfully put together, and I wanted to try out something less pedestrian than a chocolate cake Finally, as if I hadn't been convinced this place was superb, towards the end of the meal, a chef committee review was held in a corner of the dining area. The comments by the judges were just as complimentary as my own... and I wasn't disappointed. The flavor composition was superb! Combining the cake with the mango ice sorbet made for a rich and refreshing flavor! The roasted nuts gave an extra crunch to some forkfuls, adding variety to an already succulent and creative end of meal! Without a doubt a great place to enjoy a superb meal!

The dishes are classic Italian pastas and entrées with lots of choices. My husband got Pasta Bolognese and I ordered Spinach Cannelloni--both very good. We got a piece of lasagne to go for a midnight snack during our stay and it was delicious too! We went back a second night and we tried one of the unique polenta dishes they have created and it was super-yummy. We had a couple salads that were excellent as well. The staff was more than friendly and treated us well. All at a reasonable cost compared to the US.

The food was great, the spritz was wonderful and the added bonus was that this is apparently one of the few places where you can enjoy good butter in Mexico. We took Beef Tartar for appetizer. It looked like they have it in France except for it was served with hard toasts instead of hot fries. And tasted more like a fish tartar, what I mean is that they marinated the meat with too much of lemon juice and other ingredients that go better for the fish dishes and covered the flavor of the meat here. I'd put more olive oil, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and an egg yolk, no any lemon at all. Paella with all peeled seafood was delicious. Good amount of shrimps, fish, mussels, clams and even octopus -all fresh and soft. I think they used not Arborio rice, but it looked like Jasmin rice to me. And added roasted bell peppers gave more aromas to the dish. Filet with a Roquefort sauce was tender and mild, delicate flavor, cooked to our liking - rare. It was served with grilled vegetables. They have a lot of traditional Spanish tapas, such as Pulpo a la gallega (octopus), calamari, manchego cheese, jamon, fuet etc. As well as Mediterranean style main courses: pastas, paellas, fish, seafood, poultry and meat. All that we ordered was savory, sapid and yummy. Desserts were on a tray in display. Among rice pudding, Crème Brule, chocolate tart etc - we chose traditional cheese cake. It was very appetizing. Service attentive and well-timed.
