I had a truly traumatic experience with this dentist. I had an abscess in a tooth which had a previous crown. Having, albeit, treated the abscess successfully, the dentist in question exerted so much force in investigating the crown (in what should have been my third and final appointment) that he ripped it from my mouth. Tears were streaming down my face with the pain. I then had a temporary crown fitted which was fitted too tall so during the night, the whole pressure of my jaw bore down on it so I woke in agony. I needed and emergency appointment and then had to take 20 painkillers a day to manage the pain for 6 days. During this time, I gained a stone in weight whilst my body dealt with the toxins from the cocktail of drugs I was ingesting. I had to have nearly 10 appointments for what is a standard treatment on one tooth. On one such occasion, a receptionists burst into the room, without knocking, and began to discuss her social life with my dentist whilst he worked on my mouth. They were literally having a jovial conversation across me. I was unable to indicate for her to kindly leave the room as my mouth was wide open with long pins sticking from the tooth and I was numb. After nearly a year of treatment, they finally fitted a new crown. The crown the dentist had made was not the right size (for a second time) and so he merely filed it down rather than returning it for a remould. It is therefore about as finessed as a golf tee and doesn't look, feel or even work like a proper tooth. Every time I eat I need to floss giant pieces of food from between the crown and the neighbouring tooth as it just doesn't fit. For the pleasure of this work I had to pay over £900. I didn't pay the balance of my final bill (which is £400) and they are now pursuing me for the money. I don't believe the treatment I had warrants payment in excess of £1400. Don't visit these cowboys unless you're game for agony, stress, and great expense. I would have given them a rating of zero stars but had to select a minimum of one. read more
