The Norman Castle is a Norman Lombard characteristics locate 320 meters above sea level on a hill located Northwest of town. I really enjoyed view of the Valley and also the Gulf of Naples. The castle was abandoned in 1371 and restored in 1533 by Pietro Spinelli. Until the early 1700s they used the castle as a prison after it was abandoned and remodeled by the local population who used it as a source of materials for the construction of their homes. In the beginning of the 90s the institutions and the cultural heritage decided to recover the castle, fixed the walls of the outer walls and some rooms in the tower.
I was nice experience walking up to the hill and got a fresh breeze. I can stay in a historical place like this all day. read more
