The hotel is perfectly situated as a base from which to explore the wine territories, the local sights and hiking in the nearby craggy Dentelles de Montmireille. Both the hotel and restaurant are run by Proprietor Thierry Bernard and his wife. The hotel setting is lovely and idyllic, set in a woods right at the base of the Dentelles (in fact the start of the hiking path up the hills is 300 yards further up the road. Rooms are decently-appointed and comfortable. The outdoor porch and yard also are lovely. Prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is a real standout, featuring top-notch local and French cuisine, skillfully prepared and immaculately presented. We ate there twice, and worked through various items on the menu. Its quite clear locals also dine there, which is not surprising, given its quality. In addition, the winelist is tremendous, and comprehensive, featuring not only wines from Gigondas and other southern Rhone distiricts, but also farther afield. In addition the famly also owns their own wineries, providing a very tempting "house" choice. Thierry is very good at helping diners select the best accompaniment for their meal. Overall we had a good experience at Les Florets. Our travel circumstances were slightly stressed by some earlier mishaps, and both Thierry and his wife were patient and helpful in trying to resolve the issues. Great hoteliers and splendid dinner hosts. I'd give the hotel 4 1/2 stars, and the restaurant 5 stars.

This place is essentially in the middle of nowhere. We were there beginning of May. The pool…read morelooked like a fish pond, green and topped with floating algae. The breakfast buffet was poor and no cooked to order anything. It really looked like they had not opened for the season. The room must have been the smallest in the hotel, no desk w chair, and the upholstered chair that was on the room was sun bleached. The bed was full/double not queen, despite being represented as a queen. No air conditioning, although warm already, we weren't late enough in the season to have turned the main air unit on. The shower head was broken and despite numerous requests, they could not get it fixed on the five nights we were there. Oh, did I mention no phone in the room. So anytime we needed anything we had to walk down to the lobby. The only redeeming feature was the staff. Very nice, especially Hosin. You'd be better off staying in a Holiday Inn than this place. How it is a Relais Chateaux property is anyone's guess.

I felt like a princess :) The family which runs the castle is warm and I spent time with the adorably polite dog (Shun) on property as well! Conveniently located near the Pont du Guard, overlooking the vineyards of Rhone Valley. Wine tasting, truffle hunting,...or just exploring the charming property, you'll be so happy you stopped by this CASTLE! I even spotted a few cute deer in the backyard past the pool. So many surprises. This place is what you really imagine a 12th century castle to be like!
