He was very responsive, always emailing back within 24 hours or less. On the day of the event, the crew was fantastic. Very pleasant and easy to get along with, and extremely helpful. We ordered the basic buffet service and they went above and beyond, offering to bus tables in the back of the house where we had separate beverages and appetizers, and even making a 40 min round trip to get a new tap when our keg wouldn't work. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the lobster bake and land lover's grill. Everyone who attended loved it and many went back for seconds. I don't plan on getting married twice but if I do Coastal Critters is catering again! ;)

The place is super cozy and rustic - all dark wood, fire places, etc. We had no expectations going in and we were very happy with the food and the service. The chef came by and even sat down with us for a bit to give us some dining recommendations while we were in Maine - he also happened to be from or once lived in NJ like us. We each had an order of the gumbo and shared a side of onion rings. The gumbo was tasty and the perfect portion. The onion rings were also really good with the dipping sauce. We decided to share a piece of blueberry cheesecake before we hit the road and had zero regrets. It was a really pleasant meal and I would recommend this restaurant if you are in Searsport.

Homeport Tavern has fallen so far in the last six months it should honestly file a missing persons…read morereport for its former self. The menu shrank, the quality tanked, and the prices shot up like they're trying to qualify for a Michelin star through sheer confidence. The mussels appetizer was... geological. There was so much sand in them my husband stopped eating for fear of cracking a tooth. When your seafood doubles as dental shrapnel, something has gone very wrong. Then came the special of the day: fettuccine with mussels, shrimp, andouille sausage, peppers, artichokes, and capers -- which arrived in the exact same broth as the mussels appetizer, complete with the exact same bread crusts perched on top like a practical joke. It genuinely felt like they took the leftover broth from our appetizer, tossed in noodles and whatever ingredients were within arm's reach, and called it a "special." The only special thing about it was the audacity. My husband's house made Caesar with "blackened" chicken was another plot twist. The chicken wasn't blackened; it was just overcooked grilled chicken wearing the name "blackened" like a fake ID. The dressing tasted store‑bought -- the shelf‑stable kind you buy when you've given up -- which is not what anyone expects from something advertised as house made. Our friends' cheeseburger tasted like it came straight from a freezer box, and the bun had all the personality of a dinner roll from a school cafeteria. Honestly, the cafeteria comparison is unfair -- cafeterias at least know they're cafeterias. The singer was genuinely talented -- truly good -- but the volume was set to "jet engine," so we had to yell to hear each other at a table small enough that whispering should have worked. It was like attending a concert you didn't buy tickets for while trying to eat food you didn't want. Service was a whole separate adventure. Slow, forgetful, and consistently off. Our server forgot multiple items, including onion rings that never arrived, and one friend didn't get her food until the rest of us were done. No apologies, just repeated reminders that they were short staffed, followed by more short‑staffed service. We tipped 20% anyway, which the server seemed extremely grateful for -- probably because she knew exactly how the night had gone. Homeport used to be great. Now it's a place where you go to mourn what it used to be while eating food that tastes like it's mourning too.

We had the pleasure of getting the Trillium experience at another wedding and literally planned our wedding date around their availability--they are just that good. From the moment we had our tasting (which was the highlight of the wedding planning experience), we knew we were in for something special. The food wasn't just good--it was extraordinary. Every bite, from the appetizers (lobster rolls!!) to the desserts, left our guests raving. The service provided by Michael, Abigale and their team was impeccable. They ensured every detail was flawlessly executed, and we never had to worry about a thing. During the cocktail hour, they made sure the we (bride and groom) were always taken care of, keeping our drinks full and our plates loaded with the most delicious appetizers. They even went above and beyond by sourcing a cider from Washington DC, where we first met--a truly personal and thoughtful touch. We were genuinely sad when we finished our doggie bag containers of the wedding food; it was that memorable. We can't recommend Trillium highly enough for anyone planning a wedding in Maine.
