Still 5 stars!!!!

Some of our standout faves were the kabrit and the griot poutine. The diri djon djon is also a must!! We wanted to make sure we experienced the best food this city had to offer and after doing an extensive social media search, I found this small, off-the-beaten path eatery in the St. Henri neighborhood of Montreal. What a great choice!! We arrived right on time for our 7pm reservation and the place was already packed. We were immediately seated and took in the electric vibe, bangin' music and cool-ass artwork. The smells emanating from the kitchen had us ready to pig out...and that we did! Everything on the menu looked so good we had trouble deciding what to order, but we finally ordered the plantain chips, mango wings, slow-cooked goat, fried shrimp and black rice. We tore all that food up and got an extra order of the shrimp. Our servers were friendly and funny and got a chance to meet the owner the owner and he even bought us a round of shots! He told us he was opening a bigger place later this summer! Wish I could go back for that! Pikliz was definitely the food highlight of our trip and we can't stop talking about it. If I ever go back to Montreal, I'm running to Pikliz!

I ordered the Smoked Brisket and it brought me back to my favorite Texas BBQ! Juicy, smokey, fatty (in a good way) and a big 1/2 pound (or more!) portion. Came with classic chili bowl, coleslaw, brioche bun, and BBQ sauce. 10/10. $23 felt like a solid price for so much food, and now I'm full all-day and feeling healthy! I also had some fried Plantains from the Paul Toussaint kiosk and they were delicious! -- came with spicy, sweet, vinegar and coleslaw sauce and fresh mayo. The Pineapple juice was fresh and yummy too. Highly recommend both places (they are right next to each other in the Timeout Market)!

I thought they were a little pricey, but so worth the value. These restaurants have some of the top chefs of the city. We navigated our way up to the top flooor of the Eaton center. This food court is called the Timeout market. After walking aimlessly around all the restaurants, we settled on Paul Toussaint. We both chose the spare ribs with plantain frites (fries). I have had plantain chips but not plantain in the shape fry. Our meal was beyond good. You could see the chef prepare the meal and with such precision. There is a communal searing area for all restaurants. It was great to catch up with friends and to see their meal choices. Positive vibes only...

I was seated right away. The place looks super chic. I liked the wood decor. They have music playing in the background. Some days there are DJs in house. I ordered the lakay bob cocktail. Drink was strong. I tasted that alcohol immediately. For my meal, I tried the Jamaican oxtail patty and of course, banann ak morue!!! It's been a minute since I've had this meal so I was excited. The patty was amazing. The dough was light and fluffy. The oxtail was flavorful and blended well. I didnt too much care for the ketchup sauce. Glad it came on the side. The morue was not as expected. It was good overall but I feel like there were more peppers onions than the actual morue. Nice little place to dine with plenty to do around the area. Oh parking may be tough but there is a lot right nearby. Hopefully it isn't full for you.
